Standard Chartered Trophy Malaysia 2013 returns Searching for a futsal team to represent Malaysia at
Liverpool FC's Anfield Stadium, with total prizes worth over RM85,000
to be won!
KUALA LUMPUR, 27 Feb 2013 - After the positive response received from the inaugural 2012 Standard Chartered Trophy, Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad today launched the return of Standard Chartered Trophy Malaysia 2013 with a more exciting programme. The campaign was officiated by Sonia Wedrychowicz, Country Head Consumer Banking, Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad, and guest of honour, Datuk Soh Chin Aun 'Towkay', Malaysia's great football legend, at the Sports Planet, Ampang.

The 'Standard Chartered Trophy,... Road to Anfield 2013' is an annual 5-aside football tournament (futsal) comprising a qualification tournament which takes place in twelve participating markets. The goal is to find the best team to represent Malaysia at the Standard Chartered Trophy Finals, These will be held at Anfield on 21 May 2013. This is the second year of the Standard Chartered Trophy. For this year's competition, the other participating markets are Bahrain, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Kenya, Korea, MENAP (Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan) region, Nigeria, Singapore, Thailand, and United Kingdom.

The winner of the grand final match in Kuala Lumpur will win a chance of an all-expense paid trip to Anfield including return economy flight tickets and a four-night accommodation stay. In addition, the winning team will also attend an EPL match at Anfield (Liverpool FC vs Queen Park Rangers match) and will receive a training session with LFC legends and coaches to help them prepare for the Final tournament. The winning team at the Standard Chartered Trophy Finals will win the coveted 'Standard Chartered Trophy'.

Prizes for runner-ups include cash prize RM3,000 and medals for the first runner-up; RM1,000 cash prize each and medals for the second and third runner-ups of the Grand Finals in Kuala Lumpur. At each state level, the top four (4) teams will receive medals and cash prize of RM2,000 for the champion; RM1,000 for the runner-up; and RM800 each for the second and third runner-up teams.

For this year's Standard Chartered Trophy Malaysia 2013 competition, the competition is open to Standard Chartered customers, and sports clubs, including media houses, government agencies.

The first match commences on 10 March in Selangor, followed by 16 March (Perak), 17 March (Melaka), 23 March (Penang), 31 March (Johor), 6 April (Pahang). The Grand Finals is scheduled to take place on 14 April in Kuala Lumpur. To apply, each player should have either a Standard Chartered Bank JustOne Personal Current Account & JustOne Personal Savings Account; or, a Saadiq JustOne Current Account-i & Saadiq JustOne Personal Savings Account-i. Entry fee is RM200 per team, and registration forms are available from selected Standard Chartered branches, tournament venues or downloadable from the website.
