Standard Chartered Credit Card Application - Important Notes
  1. By making an application, you should have read and accept all terms and conditions set out in this application form, its accompanying leaflet (if applicable) as well as all terms and conditions stated in the Customer Terms and the applicable documents referred to in Part A of Customer Terms, and the Credit Card Terms, highlights of which are appended in this application ("banking agreement") and you agree to be bound by them and any variation Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the "Bank") makes to its banking agreement.

  2. The income requirement for Visa Platinum/Platinum MasterCard is HK$150,000 per annum and that for WorldMiles Card, UnionPay Platinum Card, Visa Gold Card and Titanium MasterCard is HK$60,000 per annum each. If you have multiple Standard Chartered Credit Cards (including Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card and Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card), you shall have one approved credit limit which is to be shared among all Standard Chartered Credit Cards. Total monthly transactions of all your Standard Chartered Credit Cards will also be consolidated into one statement.

  3. The Bank may have obtained a credit report on the customer and any of its sureties from a credit reference agency in considering any application for credit. In the event the customer or any of its sureties wishes to access the credit report, the Bank will advise the contact details of the relevant credit reference agency.

  4. The Bank reserves the right to request the applicant to provide supporting document for Credit Card approval purpose.

  5. The Bank reserves the right to offer an alternative type of Credit Card instead of the Card you apply.

  6. The approval of the Credit Card is subject to the final decision of the Bank.

  7. Any benefit offer (or welcome gift) for successful application is subject to availability and the Bank may change such offer at its discretion from time to time without notice to you.

  8. You may enquire about the status of your application by using the Credit Card 24-Hour Customer Service Hotline at 2886 8868. Where your application is approved, before using the Card, you will need to activate the Card by using the Credit Card 24-Hour Automated Phone Enquiries System designated by the Bank for such purposes.

  9. You have read and understand the Bank's "Notice to Customers and Other Individuals relating to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance ("Ordinance") and the Code of Practice on Consumer Credit Data"("Notice") which is available to you at any of Standard Chartered branches and/or on Standard Chartered website at http://www.sc.com/hk and forms part of its banking agreement. You agree that all information provided by you in connection with this application (including personal information) may be used and disclosed to such persons (whether in or outside Hong Kong) and for such purposes as set out in the Notice.

  10. The Bank reserves the right to amend the contents and all the terms and conditions contained in this leaflet at any time.

  11. In case of inconsistency between the applicable terms and conditions on one hand and the provisions within the application form or this leaflet, the former shall prevail.

  12. In case of inconsistency between the English and the Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.



Highlight of the Banking Agreement (including Credit Card Terms)

Important Notes: You are suggested to read carefully the entire banking agreement. Your attention is particularly drawn to the following major terms and conditions:

  1. The terms of our banking agreement apply to the use of your credit card. If you do not agree with those terms, you may wish to terminate your credit card in accordance with the procedure in the Credit Card Terms.

  2. You must comply with the activation procedures we notify you from time to time.

  3. You must ensure that only the person issued with a credit card uses it.

  4. You are liable for all transactions made using your credit card or the card number on such credit card. You are also liable for all transactions made using a supplementary card or the card number on such supplementary card.

  5. You must ensure that your credit limit is not exceeded.

  6. You must pay the interest, fees and charges that apply to your credit card.

  7. You must pay at least the minimum payment due or minimum monthly repayment as set out in your statement. You remain liable to us even if you do not receive your periodic statement.

  8. The minimum payment due shall be the aggregate amount of items as set out in the Credit Card Terms or any minimum amount as set out in the tariff sheet, whichever amount is higher.

  9. If we do not receive your balance owing for your credit card on or before the due date set out in your statement, we may charge you (subject to any grace period in accordance with our usual practice or applicable law) the applicable involuntary charges, which we may debit from your account.

  10. We (and any other member of the Standard Chartered Group) may set off any amount we (or any other member of the Standard Chartered Group) owe you against any amount you owe us (or any other member of the Standard Chartered Group) (whether or not the obligation is matured or contingent). We (and each other member of the Standard Chartered Group) may also combine or consolidate all accounts. If we (or any other member of the Standard Chartered Group) combine accounts, any credit funds held by you in your accounts will be applied to adjust the amount owing by you in relation to your other accounts. We (and each other member of the Standard Chartered Group) may do so at any time (even if you are not in default).

  11. If we do not receive the minimum payment or minimum monthly repayment on or before the due date, you must pay for the applicable involuntary charges. You may not use your credit card until the minimum payment or minimum monthly repayment has been paid and we may suspend the use of your credit card.

  12. Despite any other term of our banking agreement, subject to applicable law, we may at any time demand immediate payment of any amounts you owe us.

  13. If you think there is an error on your statement, you must notify us with details of such error within the period specified in the statement. If you do not do so, we will treat the statement as correct.

  14. If you are not comfortable with any changes we make to our banking agreement, you may terminate your credit card in accordance with the procedure in the Credit Card Terms.

  15. If your credit card or any supplementary card is lost or stolen, you will be liable for the use of the credit card and any supplementary card until such time you notify us that the card is lost or stolen. However, your liability will be limited to HK$500 if you have not acted fraudulently or with gross negligence and you have complied with the Security Procedures set out in our Customer Terms.

  16. You are liable for your failure and that of any supplementary cardholder in complying with our banking agreement.

  17. If you or we end the account for a credit card, subject to any applicable law, you must immediately pay all amounts owing to us in connection with the credit card and any supplementary card.

  18. You may be liable for any transaction made using a supplementary card until it has been returned or until we are able to implement our procedures applicable to lost cards. We may impose any charges incurred from implementing such procedures.

  19. Our Customer Terms include additional provisions relating to your liability to us and exclusions or limits on our liability.



Online Application Welcome Offers Terms and Conditions

 

Applicable to New Customers who apply for Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card AND Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card

  1. New Customers are defined as applicants who currently do not hold and in the past 6 months have not cancelled any Principal Card of Standard Chartered Credit Card or MANHATTAN Credit Card from the time of credit card approval.

  2. New Customers, who fulfil the requirements as set out below and subject to clause 3 and 4, may be entitled to one of the welcome offers ("Online Application Welcome Offer") as stipulated in clause 4 if they submit Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card AND Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card application form via the Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited ("the Bank") website or Breeze Good Life mobile application between 8 April and 31 August 2014 (both dates inclusive) (the "Promotion Period").

    1. Successfully apply for Principal Card of Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card AND Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card, or relevant card
      type(s) of credit card issued by the Bank as the Bank sees fit ("Eligible Cards"); AND
    2. Fulfil specific spending conditions with designated Eligible Cards as set out in clause 4 within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance.
    3. In order to be eligible for the Online Application Welcome Offer, the New Customer must successfully apply and be granted by the Bank second Eligible Card within 1 month from the date of card issuance of the first Eligible Card.
  3. New Customers who successfully apply for Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card and Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card can choose one of the welcome offers from below items a) – b).

    Welcome Offer Requirements
    1. Up to 35,000 Miles (equivalent to 525,000 points)
    It consists of 2 parts:

    Part I) Online Exclusive Offer
    • Miles/Points entitled: 3,000 Miles (equivalent to 45,000 points)
    • New Customers are required to accumulate Eligible Transactions of HK$5,000 or above with the newly approved Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance
    Part II) Up to 32,000 Miles (equivalent to 480,000 points)
    • No minimum spending requirement
    • Every HK$4 of Eligible Transaction made with the newly approved Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance will be rewarded with 1 Mile (equivalent to 15 points), with a maximum cap of Eligible Transactions of HK$128,000
    • Miles include portion earned from basic conversion rate of HK$5 retail purchases = 1 Mile. A maximum of 32,000 Miles (equivalent to 480,000 points) will be rewarded to each New Customer
    • Miles will be credited into Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card account by way of 360o Rewards Points and 1 Mile is equivalent to 15 points. Please refer to clause 7 for relevant information.
    Example
    Accumulated Eligible Transactions made within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance: HK$50,000

    Miles/Points entitled: 3,000 + (50,000 ÷ 4) = 15,500 Miles (232,500 points)

    1. HK$800 cash rebate
    Eligible Transactions of HK$8,000 or above made with the newly approved Eligible Card within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance. New Customers who successfully apply for more than one Eligible Cards under this application are required to spend with one of the newly approved Eligible Cards.
    In case that the New Customers can successfully apply for Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card only, HK$600 cash rebate will be granted to the New Customers upon accumulating Eligible Transactions of HK$8,000 or above with the newly approved Eligible Card within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance.

  4. For the calculation of the eligibility for the Online Application Welcome Offer of Standard Charted WorldMiles Card and Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card, the total HKD amount under eligible transactions as shown on the monthly statement will be taken into account for calculating the spending amount.

  5. Eligible Transactions are retail purchases (including both local and overseas transactions), online purchase or posted amount of instalment purchase (not applicable to Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card) but do not include without limitation cash advances, gambling tokens, insurance payment, Octopus Automatic Add Value Service, bill payment (including but without limitation tax and utilities payment) via Internet / ATMs / Phone Banking Services or other available means, unposted / cancelled / refunded / falsified / unauthorized transactions.

  6. For New Customers who meet the requirements and are entitled to welcome offer a) Up to 35,000 Miles (equivalent to 525,000 points), portion earned from basic conversion rate of HK$5 retail purchases = 1 Mile (equivalent to 15 points) for a particular month will be calculated and credited to Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card account for the relevant period under the monthly statement. The balance portion will be credited to the relevant eligible Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card account within 5 months from the date of card issuance. Miles mentioned above will be given out by way of 360° Rewards Points. Points will be rounded down to the nearest whole number and decimal places will not be included. The Cardholder may redeem the mileage via 360° Rewards Programme. Mileage Conversion Fee applies, unless otherwise stated, please visit www.sc.com/hk/worldmiles for details.   7. The cash rebate (HK$800 cash rebate or HK$600 cash rebate, as the case may be) will be credited to the Eligible Card account within 5 months from the date of card issuance. For New Customers who successfully applies for more than one credit cards under this application, cash rebate amount will be credited to the credit card account used to fulfil the spending requirement and if more than one credit cards had fulfilled the spending requirement, cash rebate will only be rewarded once and will be credited to the credit card based on the sequence: Standard Chartered Visa Platinum Card/ Platinum MasterCard/ Visa Gold Card/ Titanium MasterCard/ Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card. For Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card, the cash rebate will be credited to the HKD account.

  8. In the event that any point has been credited to the account but subsequently, the transaction(s) that form(s) part of or all of the points is cancelled or refunded, without prior notice to the Cardholder, the Bank has the right to either debit from the account the same amount of points credited, or if the balance of points is insufficient, charge to the account a monetary amount equivalent to the value of the points in concern. The Bank reserves the right to determine the conversion rate between points and cash based on particular situation.

  9. The usage of the 360° Rewards Points will be subject to Terms and Conditions for Points Redemption which will be amended by the Bank from time to time.

  10. The relevant credit card account must be valid, non-delinquent and in good financial standing at the time of the Online Application Welcome Offer is rewarded; otherwise the Bank has the right to forfeit reward the welcome gift.

  11. Once the Online Application Welcome Offer is chosen, it cannot be exchanged for any alternative.

  12. The Online Application Welcome Offer is not transferable, returnable or redeemable for cash.

  13. Each New Customer will only be entitled to the Online Application Welcome Offer once regardless of the number of successful applications he/she has made and the number of times the spending conditions is met on one or more approved credit cards within the Promotion Period.

  14. New Customers are required to keep the relevant credit card sales slips or online purchase records for inspection and in case of disputes, for investigation by the Bank. Sales slips or online purchase records submitted to the Bank for inspection or investigation will not be returned to the New Customers.

  15. If New Customers who have already received the Online Application Welcome Offer cancels the relevant credit card within one year from the date of new card issuance, the Bank reserves the right to charge the New Customers an administration cost of HK$500 for each card cancellation.

  16. New Customers understand and accept that the Bank is not the supplier of the mileage/products/services or gift provided. The Bank shall bear no liability relating to any aspect of the mileage/products/services/gifts, including without limitation, their quality, the supply, the descriptions of goods and/or services provided by the merchant, any false trade description, misrepresentation, mis-statement, omission, unauthorized representation, unfair trade practices or conduct in connection the products and/or services provided by the merchant, its employees, officers or agents. The use of the mileage/products/services/gifts is subject to the terms and conditions as stipulated by the supplier (if applicable).

  17. Employees of the Bank are not eligible for the Online Application Welcome Offer.

  18. The Bank reserves the right to cancel this offer or amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any benefit or promotional offer for successful applicants is subject to availability and the Bank may change such offer at its discretion from time to time without notice to you. In case of any dispute, the Bank’s decision shall be final and conclusive.

Applicable to New Customers who apply for Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card OR Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card

  1. New Customers are defined as applicants who currently do not hold and in the past 6 months have not cancelled any Principal Card of Standard Chartered Credit Card or MANHATTAN Credit Card from the time of credit card approval.

  2. New Customers, who fulfil the requirements as set out below, may be entitled to HK$600 cash rebate (“Cash Rebate Offer”) if they submit a Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card or Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card online application form between 8 April and 31 August 2014 (both dates inclusive) (the "Promotion Period").

  3. New Customers, who successfully apply for Principal Card of Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card or Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card, or relevant card type(s) of credit card issued by the Bank as the Bank sees fit (“Eligible Cards”) and accumulate Eligible Transactions of HK$8,000 or above with the newly approved Eligible Card within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance will be entitled to the Cash Rebate Offer.

  4. For the calculation of the eligibility for the Cash Rebate Offer of Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card, all HKD and RMB eligible transactions as shown on the monthly statement will be taken into account and combined for calculating the spending amount. Every RMB 1 spent will be calculated as HK$1. For the calculation of the eligibility for the Cash Rebate Offer of other newly approved credit cards, the total HKD amount under eligible transactions as shown on the monthly statement will be taken into account for calculating the spending amount.

  5. Eligible Transactions are retail purchases (including both local and overseas transactions), online purchase (not applicable to Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card) or posted amount of instalment purchase (not applicable to Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card) but do not include without limitation cash advances, gambling tokens, insurance payment, Octopus Automatic Add Value Service, bill payment (including but without limitation tax and utilities payment) via Internet / ATMs / Phone Banking Services or other available means, unposted / cancelled / refunded / falsified / unauthorized transactions.

  1. Existing Standard Chartered and/or MANHATTAN Credit Cardholders are defined as applicants who hold any Principal Card of Standard Chartered or MANHATTAN Credit Card with good credit standing and have not cancelled any Principal Card of Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card (formerly known as Standard Chartered American Express® Card) in the past 6 months at the time of submitting Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card application.

  2. Applicants, subject to the fulfilment of the requirements as set out in clause 3, may be entitled to up to 5,000 Miles (equivalent to 75,000 points) (“Existing Cardholders Welcome Offer”) if they submit Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card and Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card application form via the Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited ("the Bank") website or Breeze Good Life mobile application between 8 April and 31 August 2014 (both dates inclusive) (the “Promotion Period”) and successfully apply for Principal Card of Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card issued by the Bank.

  3. Welcome Offer Requirements
    Up to 5,000 Miles (equivalent to 75,000 points)
    • No minimum spending requirement

Terms and Conditions of Travel Insurance Cash Rebate Offer :

  3. Eligible customers who use Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card to settle their policy premium (the "Applicable Credit Card Account") will be entitled 5% cash rebate on premium paid for each successfully applied Single Trip Travel Insurance policy ("Cash Rebate").

  4. The Cash Rebate offered under this Promotion will be credited to the Applicable Credit Card Account within 3 months after successful enrollment will be shown in the monthly statement.

  5. By accepting the terms and conditions, Eligible Customer agrees that MSIG will provide the Eligible Customer's Applicable Credit Card Account number and the amount of Travel Insurance Product purchased of the relevant transaction to the Bank to enable crediting of Cash Rebate to the Applicable Credit Card Account by the Bank. If Eligible Customer does not agree MSIG to provide relevant transaction information to the Bank, Eligible Customer may choose other credit card payment and forfeit the Cash Rebate.

  6. If Eligible Customer cancels his/her relevant insurance applications and/or policies for whatever reasons before the Cash Rebate being rewarded, their eligibility to the Cash Rebate will be automatically forfeited. If Eligible Customer cancels his/her relevant insurance applications and/or policies for whatever reasons after the Cash Rebate being rewarded, the Bank reserves the right to debit the amount of Cash Rebate from the Applicable Credit Card Account without notice.

  7. These terms and conditions are related to the promotional offers only and no reference has been made to any MSIG insurance policy ("Policy") or any coverage or content there under. Customers are advised to read and understand the Policy before applying for the relevant insurance.

  8. To be eligible for the Cash Rebate, the Applicable Credit Card Account must be valid and in good financial standing at the time when the Cash Rebate is to be credited.

  9. Fraud and abuse will result in forfeiture of Cash Rebate as well as cancellation of the Applicable Credit Card or relevant credit card. The Bank reserves the right to deduct the amount of Cash Rebate ever credit for this promotional offer from the relevant Applicable Credit Card Account without notice.

  10. The Bank reserves the right to alter or terminate the promotion offers and/or amend the terms and conditions at any time without notice.

  11. All matters or disputes in relation to the promotional offers and the interpretation of terms and conditions herein shall be subject to the decision of the Bank, which shall be final and binding.

  12. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and the Chinese versions of these terms and conditions and any details of the promotional offers, the English version shall prevail.


Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card (formerly known as Standard Chartered American Express® Card) Rewards Scheme Terms and Conditions (with effect from 8 April 2014)
  1. Cardholders ("Cardholders", each a "Cardholder") of Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card (the "Card") are entitled to enroll in the rewards scheme, namely, 360° Rewards. An Annual Rewards Scheme Fee ("Annual Rewards Scheme Fee") at such rate or in such amount as specified by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the "Bank") will be charged to the Principal Cardholder and Supplementary Cardholder(s) for each enrolment into the rewards scheme. The Annual Rewards Scheme Fee for a Membership Year is payable in advance at the beginning of that Membership Year. For the purpose of these Terms and Conditions, a "Membership Year" for a particular Card means a calendar year period to be designated by the Bank for that Card. If the Cardholder shall enroll in the rewards scheme during any current Membership Year, the Annual Rewards Scheme Fee for the remaining part of the current Membership Year shall be payable on a pro-rata basis. The Annual Reward Scheme Fee will be waived until further notice from the Bank.
  2. Transactions made by both Principal and Supplementary Cardholder(s) of the same Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card Account (the "Card Account") are counted together in calculating the 360° Rewards Points ("Points").
  3. Points (the "Rewards") earning shall be based on retail purchase transactions (as defined in clause 4) posted to the Card Account.
  4. Retail purchase transactions include local and overseas transactions, excluding but not limited to cash advances, balance transfers, "Instalment Credit" amounts, Interest-free Instalment Plan, Octopus automatic add-value amount , insurance payment, "Credit-to-cash" amounts, bill payments, tax payment, purchase of merchants' cash coupon/gift certificates, interest, finance charges and fees. Any unposted / cancelled / refunded / falsified / unauthorized transactions are also excluded from earning any Rewards.
  5. The Rewards are earned on the retail purchases as follows:

Based on redemption of Asia Miles™ and KrisFlyer Miles as of 8 April 2014, 1 mile can be redeemed by 15 Points.
  6. Points for a particular month will be calculated and credited to the Card Account for the relevant period under the monthly statement.
  7. The maximum period for accumulation of Points for Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card is 3 years. The Points expiry date will be subject to the date shown in the monthly statement. After this date all accumulated Points will be cancelled from the Card Account without further notification. The maximum period of accumulation is subject to announcement by the Bank from time to time. The usage of the Points will be subject to all terms and conditions set out in the Standard Chartered Credit Card 360° Rewards Programme as may be amended by the Bank from time to time. The Rewards are non-transferable and cannot be converted into cash.
  8. Decisions of the Bank regarding any disputes in relation to the Rewards shall be final and binding on the Cardholder.
  9. Once the Rewards are credited and the value of any transaction(s) forming part or all of the Rewards is either refunded or cancelled for whatever reasons in any circumstances, the Bank has the right to debit or cancel part or all of the Rewards attributable to the said transaction(s) from the respective Card Account without prior notice.
  10. If the Card Account is voluntarily/involuntarily closed for whatever reason in any circumstances, all unredeemed Rewards and Rewards not yet credited to the Card Account are immediately forfeited and/or cancelled.
  11. To be eligible for the Rewards, the Card Account must be valid and in good financial standing at the time when the Rewards are credited. The Bank reserves the right to refuse to issue or honour any Rewards if the Cardholder has ever failed to pay on or before the relevant due date any Minimum Payment Due specified in a monthly statement of Card Account.
  12. The Bank reserves the right to alter or terminate the 360° Rewards and / or amend the terms and conditions thereof at any time, including, but not limited to, the Points multiplier, the spending tier, the type of purchase and the definition of retail purchase transactions. In case of disputes, decisions of the Bank shall be final and binding on the Cardholder.
  13. These terms and conditions shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong SAR and the Cardholder irrevocably submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court of the Hong Kong SAR.
  14. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between English and Chinese versions of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.

Terms and Conditions of Mileage Conversion Fee Refund
  1. The Mileage Conversion Fee Refund (the "Refund") is applicable to Cardholders ("Cardholders", each a "Cardholder") of Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card (the "Card") who have made any mileage redemption with the Card from 8 April 2014 to 31 March 2015 (both days inclusive) (the "Promotion Period").
  2. Cardholders are required to pay the Mileage Conversion Fee (also known as handling fee for mileage redemption) charged by the relevant merchant with the Card within the Promotion Period and the transaction date of such handling fee (the "Transaction Date") as appeared on the credit card monthly statement must be within the Promotion Period.
  3. Cardholders are entitled to a maximum of HK$300 cash rebate as the Refund of the handling fee for mileage redemption. As of 1 April 2014, the handling fee is HK$300 per transaction. Each Cardholder is only entitled to the Refund once within the Promotion Period.
  4. The Refund will be credited to the respective Card in the form of cash rebate and shown on monthly credit card statement on or before the Last Day of Fulfillment Period pursuant to the relevant Transaction Date as shown below:

  6. Cardholders shall notify Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the "Bank") within 1 month from the Last day of Fulfillment Period if they do not receive the Refund after the Last day of Fulfillment Period; otherwise, the Bank accepts no liability and the cash rebate will be forfeited.
  7. To be eligible for the Refund, the Card account must be valid, non-delinquent and in good financial standing when the Refund is to be credited. Otherwise, the Refund will be forfeited.
  8. The Bank reserves the right to terminate the offer, or vary or modify any of the terms and conditions from time to time. In case of disputes regarding the Refund or these terms and conditions, the decision and transaction records of the Bank shall be final and binding.
  9. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and the Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.

Standard Chartered "DINE'n DRINK" Rewards Scheme ('Rewards Scheme') Terms and Conditions
  1. Transactions made by both Principal and Supplementary Cardholder(s) of Standard Chartered Titanium Credit Card Account (the "Card Account") are counted collectively in calculating the 360° Rewards Points ("Points").

  2. Points earned (the "Rewards") shall only be based on retail purchase transactions (including local and overseas transactions) posted to the Card Account.

  3. Cash advances, balance transfers, "instalment credit" amounts, "credit-to-cash" amounts, bill payments, purchase of merchants' cash coupon / gifts certificates, finance charges and fees transactions are excluded for earning Rewards. Any unposted / cancelled / refunded / falsified / unauthorized transactions are also excluded for the Rewards Scheme.

  4. The Rewards Scheme are based on retail purchase transaction as follows:

    Standard Chartered Titanium Credit Card
    Dining Transactions+ 2X Points^
    Dining Transactions on the 8th day of every month+ 8X Points^
    Other Non-dining Transactions 1X Points
  5. + dining transactions are retail purchases made at dining merchants as specified by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the "Bank") at its sole discretion from time to time.
    ^ the specified 2X and 8X Points already include the basic 1X Points offered through the use of credit card under respective credit card programs as well as the extra Bonus Points offered under this Reward Scheme.

  6. Rewards will be calculated and credited to the respective Principal Cardholder Card Account according to respective Statement Period.

  7. The usage of the Points will be subject to the terms and conditions set out in the Standard Chartered Credit Card Points Rewards Catalogue as amended by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited ("the Bank") from time to time.

  8. Each Card Account is entitled to earning a maximum of 240,000 Points per annum for accumulated transactions made with dining merchants in accordance with point 4 above; and further dining transaction amount will only be entitled to 1X Points. Accumulated earned Rewards are counted on annual basis between the expiry month (as shown on the credit card) of current year and the expiry month of subsequent year.

  9. Decisions of the Bank regarding any disputes in relation to the Rewards shall be final.

  10. Once the Rewards are issued and the value of any transaction(s) forming part or all of the Rewards is either refunded or cancelled, the Bank has the right to debit an amount equivalent to the value of the Rewards from the respective Card Account without prior notice.

  11. If the Card Account is closed for whatever reason, all unredeemed Rewards and Rewards not yet credited to the Card Account will immediately be forfeited.

  12. To be eligible for the Rewards, the Card Account must be valid and in good financial standing at the time when the Rewards are credited. The Bank reserves the right to refuse to issue or honour any Rewards if the Cardholder has ever failed to pay on or before the relevant due date any Minimum Payment Due specified in the monthly statement of Card account issued during the Billing Year.

  13. The Bank reserves the right to alter or terminate the Reward Scheme and / or amend the terms and conditions thereof at any time, including, but not limited to, Points multiplier, the spending tier, the type of purchase and the list of designated merchants. In case of disputes, decisions of the Bank shall be final.

  14. These Rewards Scheme Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong.

  15. Offers shall be terminated immediately upon closure of merchant.

  16. If there is any inconsistency or conflicts between English and Chinese versions of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.


Terms and Conditions of Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card Online Excusive Offer of 3% Cash Rebate Promotion (the "Promotion"):
  1. The Rebate Period is from 13 March to 30 June 2014 (both dates inclusive) ("Rebate Period").
  2. Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card Online Excusive Offer of 3% Cash Rebate ("Rebate") is the inclusive of basic 2% Cash Rebate of Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card 2% Cash Rebate Promotion and Extra 1% Online Exclusive Cash Rebate.
  3. To be eligible for the Promotion, customers should fulfil requirements below:
    1. Customers who have successfully submitted application for Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card via online channels from 13 March to 30 April 2014 (both dates inclusive) ("Application Period"). Other cards such as Standard Chartered Executive Platinum Credit Card, SHOP'n GAIN Platinum Credit Card, Standard Chartered JOS Visa Business Platinum Card, Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card, Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card, Standard Chartered Hospital Authority Platinum Credit Card and Standard Chartered Corporate Platinum Credit Card are not eligible for the Promotion.
    2. Customers who have successfully registered and selected 2 respective categories ("Selected Categories") out of the rebate categories (as defined in clause 5) within online application form. Customers will be entitled to the Rebate for spending under the Selected Categories. In case customers register for more than once, the Selected Categories will be based on the last registration record of the Bank.
    3. Customers are required to settle payment with their newly approved Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card ("Applicable Credit Card") issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the "Bank") on or before 30 June 2014 (based on all valid transactions’ date shown on the Bank's monthly statement). Other cards such as Standard Chartered Executive Platinum Credit Card, SHOP'n GAIN Platinum Credit Card, Standard Chartered JOS Visa Business Platinum Card, Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card, Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card, Standard Chartered Hospital Authority Platinum Credit Card and Standard Chartered Corporate Platinum Credit Card are not eligible for the Promotion. Acceptance of Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card will be at the sole discretion of the merchants. The Bank shall not be held liable in any manner whatsoever in relation to that.
    4. Customers are required to have accumulated transactions ("Accumulated Transactions", as defined in clause 9) of HK$4,000 or above by using the Applicable Credit Card during the relevant calendar month.
  4. Eligible customers will be entitled to 3% cash rebate for spending with their Applicable Credit Card under the Selected Categories.

    • Transactions made at merchants with merchant codes not defined as Airlines/Travel/ Hotels (as defined by the Bank/Visa International/MasterCard Asia/Pacific (Hong Kong) Limited from time to time)
    • Individual merchants with merchant codes not defined by the acquiring banks as appropriate merchant codes of the relevant business or any unauthorized transactions
    • Purchase of casino chips

  6. Customers will be entitled to receive the Rebate for spending at Selected Categories. The Rebate amount will be calculated by multiplying the Eligible Transaction ("Eligible Transaction", as defined in clause 8) amount by 3% and will be credited into the Applicable Credit Card accounts. The Rebate amount will be rounded up to the nearest 2 decimal places in Hong Kong dollars and is subject to a maximum of HK$200 per month and HK$800 for the Rebate Period per Applicable Credit Card account. Transactions made by the Principal and Supplementary Cardholders of the same Applicable Credit Card accounts will be counted collectively.
  7. Eligible Transactions and Accumulated Transactions amount will be calculated based on Hong Kong Dollars as stated in the credit card statement.
  8. Eligible Transactions include transactions made with the Applicable Credit Cards under the Selected Categories during the Rebate Period. Other transactions are not regarded as Eligible Transactions, including but not limited to any unauthorized transactions. Eligible Transactions shall be determined at the sole and absolute discretion of the Bank.
  9. Accumulated Transactions include all local and overseas retail purchases, online purchase, cash advance, mail order, phone order and principal of Interest-free Instalment Plan made with the Applicable Credit Card accounts during the Rebate Period (based on the transaction date shown on the monthly statement). Other transactions are not eligible for the Promotion, including but not limited to auto payment, utilities bill, insurance payment, Octopus Automatic Add-Value amount, billed monthly instalment of Interest-free Instalment Plan, handling fee, annual fee, past due charges, overlimit charges, interest/finance charges, balance transfer amount and interests, "Creditto- Cash" Preferential Annual Rate Program amount and interests/handling fee, "Instalment Credit Plan" or "Statement Instalment Plan" monthly instalment amount and interest/handling fee, online bill payment, casino chip exchange and tax payment. Any unposted/cancelled/refunded/falsified and any unauthorized transactions are also excluded from the Promotion.
  10. Unless otherwise specified, the Promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offers. And this promotion cannot be used in conjunction with Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card Online Excusive Offer of 2% Cash Rebate Promotion.
  11. Rebate will be credited to the relevant Applicable Credit Card accounts within three months from the end of the two Phases (stated below) in accordance with the date of Eligible Transaction. Phase 1 - Eligible Transactions made between 13 March to 31 March 2014 (both dates inclusive) and Phase 2 - Eligible Transactions made between 1 April to 30 June 2014 (both dates inclusive).
  12. Customers shall notify the Bank if they do not receive the rebate 4 months after each phase; otherwise, the Bank accepts no liability and will not be liable for any compensation.
  13. The Applicable Credit Card accounts must be valid, non-delinquent and in good financial standing when the Rebate is to be credited. The Rebate amount cannot be drawn as cash advance, is non-exchangeable and non-transferable.
  14. The Bank will verify transaction record to confirm customers' eligibility for the Promotion. In case of discrepancy between the Bank's computer record and details recorded on the credit card sales slip, the Bank's computer record shall prevail.
  15. If customers have cancelled any related transactions which had been included in calculating for the Promotion after the Rebate has been credited to the customer’s Applicable Credit Card accounts, the Bank has the right to debit the amount equivalent to the value of Rebate from the Applicable Credit Card accounts without further notice.
  16. Customers are required to keep the relevant original proof of purchase for inspection upon request by the Bank. In case of disputes, customers are required to submit the relevant original proof of purchase for further investigation by the Bank. All relevant documents submitted to the Bank will not be returned.
  17. Customers understand and accept that the Bank is not the supplier of the products/services offered in this Promotion. The Bank shall have no liability relating to any aspect of the products/services, including without limitation, their quality, the supply, the descriptions of goods and/or services, any false trade description, misrepresentation, mis-statement, omission, unauthorized representation, unfair trade practices or conduct in connection with the products and/or services.
  18. The Bank reserves the right to alter or terminate the Promotion and amend any terms and conditions at any time. In case of disputes, the decision of the Bank shall be final.
  19. The banking products or services set out in the Terms and Conditions above are subject to respective eligibility, application process and product terms and conditions. For further details, please refer to Standard Chartered Credit Card Terms and Conditions. The approval of any credit card is subject to the final decision of the Bank.
  20. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and Chinese versions of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.

Terms and Conditions for the Priority Banking Offers


A. General Terms and Conditions

  1. The promotion period is from 8 April to 31 August 2014 (the “Promotion Period”).
  2. Customer will be entitled to the offers as specified under Sections B or C (each an “Offer”, collectively “Offers”) below only once during the Promotion Period. If customers sign up for relevant banking products by way of joint account, only the primary account holder is eligible for the Offer.
  3. The Offers under Sections B and C are applicable only to customer who has not been a Priority Banking customer within the past 12 months.
  4. To be eligible to the Mileage Offer (“Mileage Offer”) under Section C, customer must sign up for Priority Banking services and fulfil all the requirements below in clause 12 (“Eligible Customer”).
  5. The credit card account must be valid, non-delinquent and in good financial standing when the Mileage Offer is credited. If the credit card account is voluntarily/involuntarily closed, Mileage Offer not yet credited to the account will be replaced by cash rebate upon the account closure.
  6. If the Eligible Customer is entitled to the Offer as well as other promotional offers, Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the “Bank”) reserves the right to grant the customer one or part of the prevailing offer or other offers. For avoidance of doubt, Eligible Customers who sign up for Priority Banking services and registered for Mileage Offer via the requirement set in clause 14 during the Promotion Period will not be entitled to cash rebate as stated in clause 17.
  7. The Bank will credit the reward by way of 360° Rewards Points or cash rebate to the relevant Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card accounts or to respective HKD deposit account held by the Eligible Customer’s personal capacity as Primary account holder with the Bank in the following sequence: i) Integrated Deposits Account; ii) Current Account; iii) Statement Savings Account and; iv) Passbook Savings Account in the month of September 2014 or November 2014 or January 2015, subject to the corresponding fulfilment date and requirements of clauses 12 and 14. If Eligible Customer has no valid HKD deposit account, the Bank will credit to Eligible Customer’s USD deposit account as above sequence. For joint name account, only if the Eligible Customer is the primary account holder. If Eligible Customer has more than one account under same account type, the Bank will select any one of the accounts for the crediting at its discretions with the latest account opening date. Notification will be made to the Eligible Customer upon crediting of cash rebate.
  8. Eligible customer’s subscription for Priority Banking Services and such banking products and services as mentioned under an Offer must remain valid at the time when such Offer is rewarded or delivered to the customer. Otherwise, the reward under such Offer will be forfeited absolutely and not be provided to the customer through any other means.
  9. If customer terminates Priority Banking Services within 12 months from the date of sign-up, the Bank reserves the right to charge the relevant customer who has received the Offer(s) for the amount equivalent to the value of the mileage/cash rebate entitlement as administration fee and debit the same amount from any of the customer’s account with the Bank without prior notice.

B. First 2-quarter Maintenance Fee Waiver Offer (“the Fee Waiver Offer”)

  1. Eligible Customers who sign up for Priority Banking Services during the Promotion Period and fulfil all the requirements below will be entitled to the Fee Waiver Offer to have the first 2 quarters maintenance fee waived:

Take up or hold HKD Savings Account, HKD Current Account (or any Foreign Currency Savings Account), Priority Banking Credit Card, Standard Chartered ATM Card, and Online Banking Services (or Phone Banking Services) upon Priority Banking sign-up; and complete the registration of Online Banking Services or use the Phone Banking Services at least once within 2 weeks from the date of Priority Banking sign-up;
    2. Meet the entry Relationship Balance (see Important Notes below) requirement of HK$1,000,000 or above within 2 weeks from the date of signing up for Priority Banking Services; and
    3. Maintain the applicable Relationship Balance until the following designated date (“Designated Date”):

  2. After the expiry of the maintenance fee waiver period under the Fee Waiver Offer, if the average daily Relationship Balance of customers within the quarter falls below the Minimum Relationship Balance requirement of HK$1,000,000, a quarterly maintenance fee of HK$900 will be charged. The Bank reserves the right to, upon prior notification, provide another Banking Plan (other than Priority Banking) with a different Minimum Relationship Balance requirement that would better suit the banking needs of the customers.

C. Mileage Offer

  1. Eligible Customers who meet the New Funds Growth Amount (defined in clause 15 below) and fulfil the requirements (a) – (d) below will be entitled to the corresponding Mileage Offer depending on the New Funds Growth Amount.

Eligible Customer has to deposit new funds to the Bank within 2 weeks upon Priority Banking sign-up (by cash, cheque/cashier’s order, inward CHATs, telegraphic transfer from other banks excluding any transfer of funds from any accounts within the Bank) (“New Funds”) to grow the Eligible Customer’s total balance at the Bank (including the aggregate balance of deposits, investments and accumulated premiums of selected insurance under personal account as primary account holder).; and
    4. Maintain the new total balance at or above the New Funds Growth Amount until the designated date as listed in clause 12c depending on the banking plan sign up date.
  2. For the purposes of this Offer, “New Funds Growth Amount” means the amount of credit balance in New Funds deposited by the Eligible Customer in excess of his/her total balance at the Bank as of 30 November 2013 (if banking plan is signed-up in April 2014) or 31 March 2014 (if banking plan is signed-up during May to August 2014). For Eligible Customer who did not hold any account with the Bank on 30 November 2013 (if banking plan is signed-up in April 2014) or 31 March 2014 (if banking plan is signed-up during May to August 2014), his/her total balance will be treated as zero.   4. If the Eligible Customer does not have a valid, non-delinquent Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card with good financial standing when the Mileage Offer is credited OR chooses cash rebate as the alternative to points upon banking plan sign up, the Bank will credit the relevant amount of cash rebate shown in the below table following the fulfilment arrangement defined in clause 7:

Terms and Conditions for Preferred Banking Mileage Offers


A. General Terms and Conditions

  1. These promotional offers are valid from 8 April to 31 August 2014, both dates inclusive (the “Promotion Period”).
  2. Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the “Bank”) reserves the right to terminate any of the offer(s) and to vary or modify any of the terms and conditions from time to time. Any benefit or promotional offer for successful applicants is subject to availability and the Bank may change such offer at its discretion from time to time without notice to you. In case of disputes, the decision of the Bank shall be final and binding.
  3. Each of the banking products or services set out in the terms and conditions, is subject to respective eligibility, application process and product terms and conditions. For further details, please refer to branch staff for assistance.
  4. Customer will be entitled to the offers as specified under sections B and C below once during the Promotion Period. If more than one account holder is involved in the sign up, only the primary account holder will be eligible to the Offers.
  5. The Offers under sections B and C are applicable only to customer who has not been a Preferred Banking or Priority Banking customer within the past 12 months.
  6. To be eligible to the Mileage Offer (“Mileage Offer”) under Section C, customer must sign up for Preferred Banking services and fulfil all the requirements below in clause 18 (“Eligible Customer”) and hold a valid, non-delinquent and in good financial standing Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card when the Mileage Offer is credited.
  7. If the Eligible Customer is entitled to the Offer as well as other promotional offers, the Bank reserves the right to grant the customer one of or part of the entitled offers. For avoidance of doubt, customer who sign up for Preferred Banking services and registered for Mileage Offer during the Promotion Period will not be entitled to the Preferred Banking Welcome Gift and New Fund Growth Offer (if any).
  8. Eligible customer’s subscription for Preferred Banking service and the relevant banking products and services mentioned under clause 15(i) below must remain valid at the time of the points or cash rebate are credited to the customer under the Offers below. Otherwise, the reward under the relevant Offer will be forfeited absolutely and not be provided to the customer through any other means.
  9. If customer terminates Preferred Banking services within 12 months from the date of sign-up, the Bank reserves the right to charge the relevant customer who has received the offer for the amount equivalent to the value of cash rebate or entitlement under Sections C below as administration fee and debit the same from any of the customer’s account with the Bank without prior notice.
  10. Customers understand and accept that the Bank is not the supplier of the mileage/products/services or gift provided. The Bank shall bear no liability relating to any aspect of the mileage/products/services/gifts, including without limitation, their quality, the supply, the descriptions of goods and/or services provided by the merchant, any false trade description, misrepresentation, mis-statement, omission, unauthorized representation, unfair trade practices or conduct in connection the products and/or services provided by the merchant, its employees, officers or agents. The use of the mileage/products/services/gifts is subject to the terms and conditions as stipulated by the supplier (if applicable).
  11. The deposit and balance maintenance requirements mentioned in these terms and conditions are part of a promotional offer for points, cash rebate or fee waiver (as the case may be). They are not mandatory requirements which must be met before a customer may apply and be granted any banking product or service. Any one of our product or service may be applied and be granted independently.
  12. The Bank reserves the right to determine the calculation methods applied under the Offers (including in ascertaining the amount of any applicable balance requirement) and verify the customer’s transaction record in considering the customer’s eligibility for the Offers. In case of any dispute, the Bank’s decision shall be final and binding.

  14. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and the Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.

B. First 4-quarter Maintenance Fee Waiver Offer (the “Fee Waiver Offer”)

  1. Eligible Customers who sign up for Preferred Banking services during the Promotion Period and fulfil all the requirements below will be entitled to the Fee Waiver Offer to have the first 4 quarters maintenance fee waived:
    1. Taking up or holding HKD Savings Account, HKD Current Account (or any Foreign Currency Savings Account), Preferred Banking Credit Card, Standard Chartered ATM card, and Online Banking Services (or Phone Banking Services) upon Preferred Banking sign-up. Customer must complete the registration of Online Banking Services or use the Phone Banking Services at least once within 2 weeks from the date of signing up for Preferred Banking services;
    2. Meet the entry Relationship Balance (see Important Notes below) requirement within 2 weeks from the date of signing up for Preferred Banking Services, as follows:

If the Eligible Customer does not have a valid, non-delinquent and in good financial standing Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card when Points are credited, the Bank will credit the relevant amount of cash rebate (HK$200 for New Funds Growth Amount less than HK$200,000 or HK$500 for New Funds Growth Amount HK$200,000 or above) to Eligible Customer’s respective HKD deposit account under eligible customer’s personal name as Primary account holder with the Bank in the following sequence: i) Integrated Deposits Account; ii) Current Account; iii) Statement Savings Account and; iv) Passbook Savings Account in the month of September 2014 or November 2014 or January 2015. If customer has no valid HKD deposit account, the Bank will credit to eligible customer’s USD deposit account as above sequence. For joint name account, only if the eligible customer is the primary account holder. If customer has more than one account under same account type, the Bank will select any one of the accounts for the crediting at its discretions with the latest account opening date. Notification will be made to the eligible customer upon crediting of cash rebate.
  6. If the relevant account balance is denominated in foreign currency, the Bank’s exchange rate as of last calendar day of the month will be adopted for converting the balance of the relevant account from the foreign currency to Hong Kong Dollar (“HKD”) equivalent, which will then be used to calculate the cash rebate amount entitlement.

If the Eligible Customer does not have a valid Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card when Points are credited, the Bank will credit the relevant amount of cash rebate of HK$200 (“Cash Reward”) into the HKD deposit account under Eligible Customer’s personal name as primary account holder with the Bank at the sole discretion of the Bank on or before 31 October 2014 in the following sequence: i) HKD sub-account under IDA; ii) HKD Current Account; iii) HKD Statement Savings Account and; iv) HKD Passbook Savings Account. If customers have no valid HKD deposit account, the Bank will credit to Eligible Customers’ USD deposit account as above sequence. For a joint named IDA Account, only primary account holder can be entitled to Cash Reward.
  7. If the Eligible Customer does not have neither a valid Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card nor valid sole named IDA / HKD or USD Savings Account / HKD or USD Current Account on the date when the 2,000 Miles Online Offer is credited, the relevant offer shall be forfeited absolutely and shall not be paid to the Eligible Customer through any other means.
  8. In the event that Eligible Customer is also entitled to other prevailing promotional offers or deposit privileges, the Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the "Bank") reserves the right to provide only one or some of the offer(s) and/or privilege(s) at its absolute discretion.
