Standard Chartered Credit Card Terms and Conditions

General Terms and Conditions for Credit Card Application:
  1. You can enjoy annual fee waiver upon successful application of Standard Chartered WorldMiles American Express® Card (formerly known as Standard Chartered American Express® Card and refer to as Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card below). For other card types, you can enjoy first year annual fee waiver upon successful card application.
  2. Applicant must be holder of Hong Kong Identity Card.
  3. If you currently hold a valid Standard Chartered Credit Card and you choose to apply for the same card type(s) in this application, Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited ("the Bank") reserves the right not to process the application for that card type(s) and process the application for the other Credit Card(s) applied under this application.
  4. The Bank reserves the right to treat your Credit Card application for a certain card type(s) as application for another card type(s) and grant you the relevant type(s) of credit card as the Bank sees fit.
  5. The income requirement for Standard Chartered Visa Platinum/Platinum MasterCard is HK$150,000 per annum and that for Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card and Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Card is HK$96,000 per annum each.
  6. The Bank reserves the right to pass this application to another group company of Standard Chartered Bank for applying for a card product made available by that other group company as the Bank sees fit.
  7. The Bank may adjust the credit limit of or cancel any of your credit cards issued by the Bank in connection with your application, its approval or any subsequent application or approval, if any as the Bank deems it necessary.
  8. If you apply for multiple credit cards in this application form and the Bank rejects any one of the applications made, the Bank reserves the right to cease processing the remaining applications without further notice.
  9. You may, at any time without charge, choose not to have any temporary credit limit extension for your card. If you do not indicate your rejection on the temporary credit limit extension service (if applicable), you will be deemed to have given your consent to the Bank to grant the temporary credit limit extension service to your credit card(s). An Overlimit Charge is payable upon the outstanding balance debited in your card account over your granted credit limit in each credit card statement cycle.
    Over-the-limit transactions can still happen even if you have opted-out from the temporary credit limit extension service and thus Overlimit Charge may be chargeable. The over-the-limit transactions includes Octopus automatic add-value service, autopay, late posting of a transaction due to the mode of spending (such as online purchase and overseas purchase with foreign currency chosen as the settling currency), and stand-in authorization waited to be run overnight.   10. If you do not have any bank account with the Bank at the time of this application, the Bank will update your contact information into the Bank's system(s) upon successful approval of the credit card. The Bank will issue SMS, email or letter for notifying you the updates accordingly.

Standard Chartered Credit Card Application - Important Notes
  1. By making an application, you should have read and accept all terms and conditions set out in this application form, its accompanying leaflet (if applicable) as well as all terms and conditions stated in the Customer Terms (from 1 May 2015 onwards, Client Terms) and the applicable documents referred to in Part A of Customer Terms (from 1 May 2015 onwards, Client Terms), and the Credit Card Terms, highlights of which are appended in this application ("banking agreement") and you agree to be bound by them and any variation the Bank makes to its banking agreement.

  2. The income requirement for Standard Chartered Visa Platinum/Platinum MasterCard is HK$150,000 per annum and that for Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card and Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Card is HK$96,000 per annum each. If you have multiple Standard Chartered Credit Cards (including Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card and Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card), you shall have one approved credit limit which is to be shared among all Standard Chartered Credit Cards. Total monthly transactions of all your Standard Chartered Credit Cards will also be consolidated into one statement.

  3. The Bank will obtain a credit report on the customer and any of its sureties from a credit reference agency in considering any application for credit. In the event the customer or any of its sureties wishes to access the credit report, the Bank will advise the contact details of the relevant credit reference agency.

  4. The Bank reserves the right to request the applicant to provide supporting document(s) for Credit Card approval purpose.

  5. The Bank reserves the right to offer an alternative type of Credit Card instead of the Card you apply.

  6. The approval of the Credit Card is subject to the final decision of the Bank.

  7. Any benefit offer (or welcome offer) for successful application is subject to availability and the Bank may change such offer at its discretion from time to time without notice to you.

  8. You may enquire about the status of your application by using the Standard Chartered Credit Card 24-Hour Customer Service Hotline at 2886 8868. Where your application is approved, before using the Card, you will need to activate the Card by using the Credit Card 24-Hour Automated Phone Enquiries System designated by the Bank for such purposes.

  9. You have read and understand the Bank's "Notice to Customers and Other Individuals relating to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance ("Ordinance") and the Code of Practice on Consumer Credit Data" ("Notice") which is available to you at any of Standard Chartered branches and/or on Standard Chartered website at sc.com/hk and forms part of its banking agreement. You agree that all information provided by you in connection with this application (including personal information) may be used and disclosed to such persons (whether in or outside Hong Kong) and for such purposes as set out in the Notice.

  10. The Bank reserves the right to amend the contents and all the terms and conditions contained in this leaflet at any time.

  11. In case of inconsistency between the applicable terms and conditions on one hand and the provisions within the application form or this leaflet, the former shall prevail.

  12. In case of inconsistency between the English and the Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.



Highlight of the Banking Agreement (including Credit Card Terms)

Important Notes: You are suggested to read carefully the entire banking agreement. Your attention is particularly drawn to the following major terms and conditions:

  1. The terms of our banking agreement apply to the use of your credit card. If you do not agree with those terms, you may wish to terminate your credit card in accordance with the procedure in the Credit Card Terms.

  2. You must comply with the activation procedures we notify you from time to time.

  3. You must ensure that only the person issued with a credit card uses it.

  4. You are liable for all transactions made using your credit card or the card number on such credit card. You are also liable for all transactions made using a supplementary card or the card number on such supplementary card.

  5. You must ensure that your credit limit is not exceeded.

  6. You must pay the interest, fees and charges that apply to your credit card.

  7. You must pay at least the minimum payment due or minimum monthly repayment as set out in your statement. You remain liable to us even if you do not receive your periodic statement.

  8. The minimum payment due shall be the aggregate amount of items as set out in the Credit Card Terms or any minimum amount as set out in the tariff sheet, whichever amount is higher.

  9. If we do not receive your balance owing for your credit card on or before the due date set out in your statement, we may charge you (subject to any grace period in accordance with our usual practice or applicable law) the applicable involuntary charges, which we may debit from your account.

  10. We (and any other member of the Standard Chartered Group) may set off any amount we (or any other member of the Standard Chartered Group) owe you against any amount you owe us (or any other member of the Standard Chartered Group) (whether or not the obligation is matured or contingent). We (and each other member of the Standard Chartered Group) may also combine or consolidate all accounts. If we (or any other member of the Standard Chartered Group) combine accounts, any credit funds held by you in your accounts will be applied to adjust the amount owing by you in relation to your other accounts. We (and each other member of the Standard Chartered Group) may do so at any time (even if you are not in default).

  11. If we do not receive the minimum payment or minimum monthly repayment on or before the due date, you must pay for the applicable involuntary charges. You may not use your credit card until the minimum payment or minimum monthly repayment has been paid and we may suspend the use of your credit card.

  12. Despite any other term of our banking agreement, subject to applicable law, we may at any time demand immediate payment of any amounts you owe us.

  13. If you think there is an error on your statement, you must notify us with details of such error within the period specified in the statement. If you do not do so, we will treat the statement as correct.

  14. If you are not comfortable with any changes we make to our banking agreement, you may terminate your credit card in accordance with the procedure in the Credit Card Terms.

  15. If your credit card or any supplementary card is lost or stolen, you will be liable for the use of the credit card and any supplementary card until such time you notify us that the card is lost or stolen. However, your liability will be limited to HK$500 if you have not acted fraudulently or with gross negligence and you have complied with the Security Procedures set out in our Customer Terms (from 1 May 2015 onwards, Client Terms).

  16. You are liable for your failure and that of any supplementary cardholder in complying with our banking agreement.

  17. If you or we end the account for a credit card, subject to any applicable law, you must immediately pay all amounts owing to us in connection with the credit card and any supplementary card.

  18. You may be liable for any transaction made using a supplementary card until it has been returned or until we are able to implement our procedures applicable to lost cards. We may impose any charges incurred from implementing such procedures.

  19. Our Customer Terms (from 1 May 2015 onwards, Client Terms) include additional provisions relating to your liability to us and exclusions or limits on our liability.



Online Application Welcome Offers Terms and Conditions

 

A.
General Terms and Conditions of Welcome Offers
  1. The promotion period is from 1 April to 31 May 2015 (both dates inclusive) (the "Promotion Period").

  2. Unless otherwise specified, New Customers are applicants who currently do not hold and in the past 6 months have not cancelled any Principal Card of Standard Chartered Credit Card or MANHATTAN Credit Card from the time of credit card approval.

  3. Existing Standard Chartered and/or MANHATTAN Credit Cardholders are applicants who (i) hold any Principal Card of Standard Chartered or MANHATTAN Credit Card with good credit standing and (ii) currently do not hold and have not cancelled any Principal Card of Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card in the past 6 months at the time of submitting Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card application.

  4. For the calculation of the eligibility for the welcome offers of Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card, all HKD and RMB Eligible Transactions as shown on the monthly statement will be taken into account and combined for calculating the spending amount. Every RMB 1 spent will be calculated as HK$1. For the calculation of the eligibility for the welcome offers of other newly approved credit cards, the total HKD amount under Eligible Transactions as shown on the monthly statement will be taken into account for calculating the spending amount.

  5. Eligible Transactions are retail purchases (including both local and overseas transactions), online purchase (not applicable to Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card) or posted amount of instalment purchase (not applicable to Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card and Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card) but do not include without limitation cash advances, gambling tokens, insurance payment, Octopus Automatic Add Value Service, bill payment (including but without limitation tax and utilities payment) via Internet / ATMs / Phone Banking Services or other available means, unposted / cancelled / refunded / falsified / unauthorized transactions.

  6. The relevant credit card account must be valid, non-delinquent and in good financial standing at the time of the welcome offer is rewarded; otherwise the Bank has the right to forfeit the welcome offer.

  7. The welcome offer is available on a first-come-first-served basis while stocks last. The Bank reserves the right to offer an alternative welcome offer as replacement in case of shortage.

  8. The welcome offer is not transferable, returnable or redeemable for cash.

  9. Each customer will only be entitled to the welcome offer once regardless of the number of approved applications he/she makes and the number of times the requirements is met on one or more approved credit cards within the Promotion Period. The Bank reserves the right of final decision to the customer entitlement of welcome offer.

  10. Customers are required to keep the relevant credit card sales slips or online purchase records for inspection and in case of disputes, for investigation by the Bank. Sales slips or online purchase records submitted to the Bank for inspection or investigation will not be returned to the customers.

  11. If customers who have already received the welcome offers cancel the relevant credit card within one year from the date of new card issuance, the Bank reserves the right to charge an administration cost of HK$500 (for New Customers) / HK$150 (for Existing Cardholders) for each card cancellation.

  12. Each of the banking products or services set out in the terms and condition is subject to respective eligibility, application process and product terms and conditions. For further details, please refer to branch staff for assistance.

  13. Any spending requirements mentioned in these terms and conditions are part of a promotional offer for reward points, gift, cash rebate or fee waiver (as the case may be). They are not mandatory requirements which must be met before a customer may apply and be granted any banking product or service. Any one product or service may be applied and be granted independently.

  14. Customers understand and accept that the Bank is not the supplier of the mileage/products/services or gifts provided. The Bank shall bear no liability relating to any aspect of the mileage/products/services/gifts, including without limitation, their quality, the supply, the descriptions of goods and/or services provided by the merchant, any false trade description, misrepresentation, mis-statement, omission, unauthorized representation, unfair trade practices or conduct in connection with the mileage/products/services/gifts provided by the merchant, its employees, officers or agents. The use of the mileage/products/services/gifts is subject to the terms and conditions as stipulated by the supplier (if applicable).

  15. Employees of the Bank are not eligible for the welcome offers.

  16. The Bank reserves the right to cancel this offer or amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any benefit or promotional offer for successful applicants is subject to availability and the Bank may change such offer at its discretion from time to time without notice to you. In case of any disputes, the Bank's decision shall be final and conclusive.

  17. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and the Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.

 

B.
Terms and Conditions for Standard Chartered Credit Card and Integrated Deposits Account Online Welcome Offer Applicable to New Customers
  1. For this Section B, New Customers mean applicants who currently do not hold and in the past 6 months have not cancelled any Principal Card of Standard Chartered Credit Card or MANHATTAN Credit Card from the time of credit card approval AND do not hold any deposit account with the Bank, i.e. Saving Account(s), Current Account(s), Integrated Deposits Account ("IDA") and Time Deposit Account(s) in the past 12 months on the date when the online application is made.

  2. New Customers, who submit Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card AND Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card online application form together with the IDA online application form via the Bank website or Breeze Good Life mobile application during Promotion Period and fulfil the requirements in clause 3 below, may be entitled to welcome offer as set out in clause 4 below.

  3. Welcome offers requirements

    a.
    Successfully apply for Principal Card of Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card AND Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card, or relevant credit card type(s) issued by the Bank on or before 30 June 2015; AND
    b.
    Apply online and successfully open an IDA and sign up for any Banking Plan (Priority Banking/Personal Banking Privileged Plan/Easy Banking) at branch and register as Standard Chartered Online Banking customer on or before 30 June 2015; AND
    c.
    With an annual income of HK$240,000 equivalent or above. The Bank will require New Customer to provide satisfactory form of income proof (at the Bank's sole discretion).

  4. Welcome offer details

    Welcome offer consists of 2 parts:

    Part I) First year HK$4 spending = 1 Mile (Up to 60,000 Miles)

    • No minimum spending requirement
    • Every HK$4 of Eligible Transaction made with the newly approved Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card within the first year from the date of card issuance of this card will be rewarded with 1 Mile (equivalent to 15 points), with a maximum cap of Eligible Transactions of HK$20,000 per calendar month
    • Miles include portion earned from basic conversion rate of HK$5 retail purchases = 1 Mile. A maximum of 5,000 Miles (equivalent to 75,000 points) per calendar month and 60,000 Miles (equivalent to 900,000 points) in the first year will be rewarded to each New Customer
    Part II) Online Exclusive Offer (6,000 Miles)
    • Miles/Points entitled: 6,000 Miles (equivalent to 90,000 points)
    • New Customers are required to accumulate Eligible Transactions of HK$8,000 or above with the newly approved Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance of this card
    Miles will be credited into Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card account by way of 360° Rewards Points and 1 Mile is equivalent to 15 points. Please refer to clause 5 for relevant information.

    Example
    Accumulated Eligible Transactions spending made in every calendar month within the first year from the date of card issuance: HK$20,000
    Total Miles/Points entitled: (20,000 Miles ÷ 4) X 12 months + 6,000 Miles = 66,000 Miles (990,000 points)

  5. For New Customers who meet the requirements and are entitled to welcome offer as set out in clause 3 and clause 4 above, below are the mechanism of the 360° Rewards Points to be credited to the customer account.

    i.
    Portion of 360° Rewards Points earned from basic conversion rate of HK$5 retail purchases = 1 Mile (equivalent to 15 points) for a particular month will be calculated and credited to Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card account for the relevant period under the monthly statement. The balance portion of the 360° Rewards Points will be credited to the relevant eligible Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card account by August 2015, November 2015, February 2016, May 2016 and/or August 2016 respectively, if any and as applicable, (each a "Fulfilment Month") for 360° Rewards Points earned by the Eligible Transactions made during the counting period ("Eligible Transactions Counting Period") for each Fulfilment Month as shown in the table below:

    Miles mentioned above will be given out by way of 360° Rewards Points. 360° Rewards Points will be rounded down to the nearest whole number and decimal places will not be included. The Cardholder may redeem the mileage via 360° Rewards Programme. Mileage Conversion Fee applies, unless otherwise stated, please visit sc.com/hk/worldmiles for details. Terms and conditions of relevant mileage programme apply for mileage redemptions. For details, please visit www.asiamiles.com and www.krisflyer.com respectively. Based on redemption of Asia Miles™ and KrisFlyer miles as of 1 April 2015, 1 Mile can be redeemed by 15 points.
    ii.
    In the event that any point has been credited to the account but subsequently, the transaction(s) that form(s) part of or all of the points is cancelled or refunded, without prior notice to the Cardholder, the Bank has the right to debit from the account the same amount of points credited.
    iii.
    The usage of the 360° Rewards Points will be subject to Terms and Conditions for Points Redemption which will be amended by the Bank from time to time.
    iv.
    If the credit card account is voluntarily/involuntarily closed, all 360° Rewards Points unused or not yet credited to the account will be immediately forfeited upon the account closure.

  6. For New Customers who are unable to fulfil ALL but some of the requirements as set out in clause 3 of Section B may be entitled to another set of welcome offer(s) with details as follows:

    i.
    Successfully apply for Principal Card of Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card AND Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card, or relevant credit card type(s) issued by the Bank may be entitled to up to 46,000 Miles or HK$800 cash rebate as welcome offer if related requirements as set out in Section C of Online Application Welcome Offers Terms and Conditions are fulfilled.
    ii.
    Successfully apply for Principal Card of Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card or relevant credit card type(s) issued by the Bank may be entitled to HK$600 cash rebate as welcome offer if related requirements as set out in Section D of Online Application Welcome Offers Terms and Conditions are fulfilled.
    iii.
    Apply online and successfully open an IDA and sign up for any Banking Plan (Priority Banking/ Personal Banking Privileged Plan/ Easy Banking) at branch on or before 30 June 2015 may be entitled to Integrated Deposits Account 2,000 Miles Online Exclusive Offer ("2,000 Miles Online Offer") for Standard Chartered WorldMiles Cardholders. If New Customers do not have a valid Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card when the 360° Rewards Points are credited, the Bank will credit the relevant amount of cash rebate of HK$200 ("Cash Reward") into the HKD deposit account under New Customer's personal name as primary account holder with the Bank at the sole discretion of the Bank on or before 31 August 2015 in the following sequence: i) HKD sub-account under IDA; ii) HKD Current Account; iii) HKD Statement Savings Account and; iv) HKD Passbook Savings Account. If customers have no valid HKD deposit account, the Bank will credit to Eligible Customers' USD deposit account as above sequence. For a joint named IDA Account, only primary account holder can be entitled to Cash Reward.

  7. Except for customers who are only entitled to another set of welcome offer(s) under clause 6 of this Section B above, at the time of the welcome offer is rewarded, New Customers must maintain a valid sole named IDA, yet being customers of any Banking Plan (Priority Banking/Personal Banking Privileged Plan/Easy Banking) and Online Banking. Otherwise the Bank has the right to forfeit the welcome offer.

  8. In the event that New Customers are also entitled to other prevailing promotional offers or deposit privileges, the Bank reserves the right to provide only one or some of the offer(s) and/or privilege(s) at its absolute discretion. For avoidance of doubt, New Customer who is eligible for the welcome offer in this Section B during the Promotion Period will not be eligible to other Integrated Deposits Account Online Offer, including but not limited to HK$200 Cash Reward Online Offer and 2,000 Miles Online Offer.

  9. Once the welcome offer is chosen at the time of application, it cannot be exchanged for any alternative.

 

C.
Terms and Conditions Applicable to New Customers who apply for Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card AND Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card
  1. New Customers (as defined in clause 2 of Section A), who submit Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card AND Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card online application form via the Bank website or Breeze Good Life mobile application during Promotion Period and fulfil the requirements in clause 2 below, may be entitled to one of the following welcome offers ("Online Application Welcome Offer").

  2. Welcome offers requirements
    a.
    Successfully apply for Principal Card of Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card AND Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card, or relevant credit card type(s) issued by the Bank ("Eligible Cards"); AND
    b.
    Fulfil specific requirements as set out below with designated Eligible Cards within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance of specific Eligible Cards.
    In order to be eligible for the Online Application Welcome Offer, New Customers must successfully apply and be granted by the Bank second Eligible Card within 1 month from the date of card issuance of the first Eligible Card.
    Welcome Offer Requirements
    1. Up to 46,000 Miles (equivalent to 690,000 points)

    Note: Only applicable to New Customers who successfully apply for Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card.
    It consists of 3 parts:

    Part I) Online Exclusive Offer
    • Miles/Points entitled: 6,000 Miles (equivalent to 90,000 points)
    • New Customers are required to accumulate Eligible Transactions of HK$8,000 or above with the newly approved Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance of this card
    Part II) Up to 32,000 Miles (equivalent to 480,000 points)
    • No minimum spending requirement
    • Every HK$4 of Eligible Transaction made with the newly approved Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance of this card will be rewarded with 1 Mile (equivalent to 15 points), with a maximum cap of Eligible Transactions of HK$128,000
    • Miles include portion earned from basic conversion rate of HK$5 retail purchases = 1 Mile. A maximum of 32,000 Miles (equivalent to 480,000 points) will be rewarded to each New Customer
    Part III) 8,000 Miles (equivalent to 120,000 points)
    • Miles/Points entitled: 8,000 Miles (equivalent to 120,000 points)
    • New Customers are required to accumulate Eligible Transactions of HK$80,000 or above with the newly approved Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance of this card
    Miles will be credited into Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card account by way of 360° Rewards Points and 1 Mile is equivalent to 15 points. Please refer to clause 3 for relevant information.

    Example
    Accumulated Eligible Transactions made within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance: HK$80,000

    Miles/Points entitled: 6,000 + (80,000 ÷ 4) + 8,000 = 34,000 Miles (510,000 points)

    1. HK$800 cash rebate
    Eligible Transactions of HK$8,000 or above made with the newly approved Eligible Cards within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance of the first approved Eligible Cards, and Eligible Transactions made with all Eligible Cards will be counted collectively.
    New Customers, who successfully apply for Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card or relevant card type(s) of credit card issued by the Bank as the Bank sees fit but cannot successfully apply for Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card, will receive HK$600 cash rebate when accumulating Eligible Transactions of HK$8,000 or above with the newly approved Eligible Cards within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance.

  3. For New Customers who meet the requirements and are entitled to welcome offer a) Up to 46,000 Miles (equivalent to 690,000 points):

    1. Portion earned from basic conversion rate of HK$5 retail purchases = 1 Mile (equivalent to 15 points) for a particular month will be calculated and credited to Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card account for the relevant period under the monthly statement. The balance portion will be credited to the relevant eligible Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card account within 5 months from the date of card issuance of this card. Terms and Conditions of Travel Insurance Cash Rebate Offer :

  1. The promotion period is between 1 January 2015 and 31 December 2015 (both days inclusive) (the "Promotion Period").

  2. The promotional offers are available to successful applicants of Single Trip Travel Insurance of MSIG Insurance (Hong Kong) Limited ("MSIG"), whose relevant application is made on MSIG's website as accessed through the website of Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the "Bank") during the Promotion Period ("Eligible Customer").

  3. Eligible customers who use Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card to settle their policy premium (the "Applicable Credit Card Account") will be entitled 5% cash rebate on premium paid for each successfully applied Single Trip Travel Insurance policy ("Cash Rebate").

  4. The Cash Rebate offered under this Promotion will be credited to the Applicable Credit Card Account within 3 months after successful enrollment will be shown in the monthly statement.

  5. By accepting the terms and conditions, Eligible Customer agrees that MSIG will provide the Eligible Customer's Applicable Credit Card Account number and the amount of Travel Insurance Product purchased of the relevant transaction to the Bank to enable crediting of Cash Rebate to the Applicable Credit Card Account by the Bank. If Eligible Customer does not agree MSIG to provide relevant transaction information to the Bank, Eligible Customer may choose other credit card payment and forfeit the Cash Rebate.

  6. If Eligible Customer cancels his/her relevant insurance applications and/or policies for whatever reasons before the Cash Rebate being rewarded, their eligibility to the Cash Rebate will be automatically forfeited. If Eligible Customer cancels his/her relevant insurance applications and/or policies for whatever reasons after the Cash Rebate being rewarded, the Bank reserves the right to debit the amount of Cash Rebate from the Applicable Credit Card Account without notice.

  7. These terms and conditions are related to the promotional offers only and no reference has been made to any MSIG insurance policy ("Policy") or any coverage or content there under. Customers are advised to read and understand the Policy before applying for the relevant insurance.

  8. To be eligible for the Cash Rebate, the Applicable Credit Card Account must be valid and in good financial standing at the time when the Cash Rebate is to be credited.

  9. Fraud and abuse will result in forfeiture of Cash Rebate as well as cancellation of the Applicable Credit Card or relevant credit card. The Bank reserves the right to deduct the amount of Cash Rebate ever credit for this promotional offer from the relevant Applicable Credit Card Account without notice.

  10. The Bank reserves the right to alter or terminate the promotion offers and/or amend the terms and conditions at any time without notice.

  11. All matters or disputes in relation to the promotional offers and the interpretation of terms and conditions herein shall be subject to the decision of the Bank, which shall be final and binding.

  12. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and the Chinese versions of these terms and conditions and any details of the promotional offers, the English version shall prevail.


Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card (formerly known as Standard Chartered American Express® Card) Rewards Scheme Terms and Conditions (with effect from 8 April 2014)

  1. Cardholders ("Cardholders", each a "Cardholder") of Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card (the "Card") are entitled to enroll in the rewards scheme, namely, 360° Rewards. An Annual Rewards Scheme Fee ("Annual Rewards Scheme Fee") at such rate or in such amount as specified by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the "Bank") will be charged to the Principal Cardholder and Supplementary Cardholder(s) for each enrolment into the rewards scheme. The Annual Rewards Scheme Fee for a Membership Year is payable in advance at the beginning of that Membership Year. For the purpose of these Terms and Conditions, a "Membership Year" for a particular Card means a calendar year period to be designated by the Bank for that Card. If the Cardholder shall enroll in the rewards scheme during any current Membership Year, the Annual Rewards Scheme Fee for the remaining part of the current Membership Year shall be payable on a pro-rata basis. The Annual Reward Scheme Fee will be waived until further notice from the Bank.
  2. Transactions made by both Principal and Supplementary Cardholder(s) of the same Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card Account (the "Card Account") are counted together in calculating the 360° Rewards Points ("Points").
  3. Points (the "Rewards") earning shall be based on retail purchase transactions (as defined in clause 4) posted to the Card Account.
  4. Retail purchase transactions include local and overseas transactions, excluding but not limited to cash advances, balance transfers, "Instalment Credit" amounts, Interest-free Instalment Plan, Octopus automatic add-value amount , insurance payment, "Credit-to-cash" amounts, bill payments, tax payment, purchase of merchants' cash coupon/gift certificates, interest, finance charges and fees. Any unposted / cancelled / refunded / falsified / unauthorized transactions are also excluded from earning any Rewards.
  5. The Rewards are earned on the retail purchases as follows:

  7. The maximum period for accumulation of Points for Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card is 3 years. The Points expiry date will be subject to the date shown in the monthly statement. After this date all accumulated Points will be cancelled from the Card Account without further notification. The maximum period of accumulation is subject to announcement by the Bank from time to time. The usage of the Points will be subject to all terms and conditions set out in the Standard Chartered Credit Card 360° Rewards Programme as may be amended by the Bank from time to time. The Rewards are non-transferable and cannot be converted into cash.
  8. Decisions of the Bank regarding any disputes in relation to the Rewards shall be final and binding on the Cardholder.
  9. Once the Rewards are credited and the value of any transaction(s) forming part or all of the Rewards is either refunded or cancelled for whatever reasons in any circumstances, the Bank has the right to debit or cancel part or all of the Rewards attributable to the said transaction(s) from the respective Card Account without prior notice.
  10. If the Card Account is voluntarily/involuntarily closed for whatever reason in any circumstances, all unredeemed Rewards and Rewards not yet credited to the Card Account are immediately forfeited and/or cancelled.
  11. To be eligible for the Rewards, the Card Account must be valid and in good financial standing at the time when the Rewards are credited. The Bank reserves the right to refuse to issue or honour any Rewards if the Cardholder has ever failed to pay on or before the relevant due date any Minimum Payment Due specified in a monthly statement of Card Account.
  12. The Bank reserves the right to alter or terminate the 360° Rewards and / or amend the terms and conditions thereof at any time, including, but not limited to, the Points multiplier, the spending tier, the type of purchase and the definition of retail purchase transactions. In case of disputes, decisions of the Bank shall be final and binding on the Cardholder.
  13. These terms and conditions shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong SAR and the Cardholder irrevocably submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court of the Hong Kong SAR.
  14. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between English and Chinese versions of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.

Terms and Conditions of Mileage Conversion Fee Refund
  1. The Mileage Conversion Fee Refund (the "Refund") is applicable to Cardholders ("Cardholders", each a "Cardholder") of Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card (the "Card") who have made any mileage redemption with the Card from 8 April 2014 to 31 March 2015 (both days inclusive) (the "Promotion Period").
  2. Cardholders are required to pay the Mileage Conversion Fee (also known as handling fee for mileage redemption) charged by the relevant merchant with the Card within the Promotion Period and the transaction date of such handling fee (the "Transaction Date") as appeared on the credit card monthly statement must be within the Promotion Period.
  3. Cardholders are entitled to a maximum of HK$300 cash rebate as the Refund of the handling fee for mileage redemption. As of 1 April 2014, the handling fee is HK$300 per transaction. Each Cardholder is only entitled to the Refund once within the Promotion Period.
  4. The Refund will be credited to the respective Card in the form of cash rebate and shown on monthly credit card statement on or before the Last Day of Fulfillment Period pursuant to the relevant Transaction Date as shown below:

  6. Cardholders shall notify Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the "Bank") within 1 month from the Last day of Fulfillment Period if they do not receive the Refund after the Last day of Fulfillment Period; otherwise, the Bank accepts no liability and the cash rebate will be forfeited.
  7. To be eligible for the Refund, the Card account must be valid, non-delinquent and in good financial standing when the Refund is to be credited. Otherwise, the Refund will be forfeited.
  8. The Bank reserves the right to terminate the offer, or vary or modify any of the terms and conditions from time to time. In case of disputes regarding the Refund or these terms and conditions, the decision and transaction records of the Bank shall be final and binding.
  9. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and the Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.

Standard Chartered "DINE'n DRINK" Rewards Scheme ('Rewards Scheme') Terms and Conditions
  1. Transactions made by both Principal and Supplementary Cardholder(s) of Standard Chartered Titanium Credit Card Account (the "Card Account") are counted collectively in calculating the 360° Rewards Points ("Points").

  2. Points earned (the "Rewards") shall only be based on retail purchase transactions (including local and overseas transactions) posted to the Card Account.

  3. Cash advances, balance transfers, "instalment credit" amounts, "credit-to-cash" amounts, bill payments, purchase of merchants' cash coupon / gifts certificates, finance charges and fees transactions are excluded for earning Rewards. Any unposted / cancelled / refunded / falsified / unauthorized transactions are also excluded for the Rewards Scheme.

  4. The Rewards Scheme are based on retail purchase transaction as follows:

    Standard Chartered Titanium Credit Card
    Dining Transactions+ 2X Points^
    Dining Transactions on the 8th day of every month+ 8X Points^
    Other Non-dining Transactions 1X Points
  5. + dining transactions are retail purchases made at dining merchants as specified by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the "Bank") at its sole discretion from time to time.
    ^ the specified 2X and 8X Points already include the basic 1X Points offered through the use of credit card under respective credit card programs as well as the extra Bonus Points offered under this Reward Scheme.

  6. Rewards will be calculated and credited to the respective Principal Cardholder Card Account according to respective Statement Period.

  7. The usage of the Points will be subject to the terms and conditions set out in the Standard Chartered Credit Card Points Rewards Catalogue as amended by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited ("the Bank") from time to time.

  8. Each Card Account is entitled to earning a maximum of 240,000 Points per annum for accumulated transactions made with dining merchants in accordance with point 4 above; and further dining transaction amount will only be entitled to 1X Points. Accumulated earned Rewards are counted on annual basis between the expiry month (as shown on the credit card) of current year and the expiry month of subsequent year.

  9. Decisions of the Bank regarding any disputes in relation to the Rewards shall be final.

  10. Once the Rewards are issued and the value of any transaction(s) forming part or all of the Rewards is either refunded or cancelled, the Bank has the right to debit an amount equivalent to the value of the Rewards from the respective Card Account without prior notice.

  11. If the Card Account is closed for whatever reason, all unredeemed Rewards and Rewards not yet credited to the Card Account will immediately be forfeited.

  12. To be eligible for the Rewards, the Card Account must be valid and in good financial standing at the time when the Rewards are credited. The Bank reserves the right to refuse to issue or honour any Rewards if the Cardholder has ever failed to pay on or before the relevant due date any Minimum Payment Due specified in the monthly statement of Card account issued during the Billing Year.

  13. The Bank reserves the right to alter or terminate the Reward Scheme and / or amend the terms and conditions thereof at any time, including, but not limited to, Points multiplier, the spending tier, the type of purchase and the list of designated merchants. In case of disputes, decisions of the Bank shall be final.

  14. These Rewards Scheme Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong.

  15. Offers shall be terminated immediately upon closure of merchant.

  16. If there is any inconsistency or conflicts between English and Chinese versions of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.

  5. The customers understand and accept that the Bank is not the supplier of the mileage/products/services or gift provided. The Bank shall bear no liability relating to any aspect of the mileage/products/services/gifts, including without limitation, their quality, the supply, the descriptions of goods and/or services provided by the merchant, any false trade description, misrepresentation, mis-statement, omission, unauthorized representation, unfair trade practices or conduct in connection the products and/or services provided by the merchant, its employees, officers or agents. The use of the mileage/products/services/gifts is subject to the terms and conditions as stipulated by the supplier (if applicable).
  6. If the Eligible Customer does not have a valid Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card when Points are credited, the Bank will credit the relevant amount of cash rebate of HK$200 ("Cash Reward") into the HKD deposit account under Eligible Customer's personal name as primary account holder with the Bank at the sole discretion of the Bank on or before 31 August 2015 in the following sequence: i) HKD sub-account under IDA; ii) HKD Current Account; iii) HKD Statement Savings Account and; iv) HKD Passbook Savings Account. If customers have no valid HKD deposit account, the Bank will credit to Eligible Customers' USD deposit account as above sequence. For a joint named IDA Account, only primary account holder can be entitled to Cash Reward.
  7. If the Eligible Customer does not have neither a valid Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card nor valid sole named IDA / HKD or USD Savings Account / HKD or USD Current Account on the date when the 2,000 Miles Online Offer is credited, the relevant offer shall be forfeited absolutely and shall not be paid to the Eligible Customer through any other means.
  8. In the event that Eligible Customer is also entitled to other prevailing promotional offers or deposit privileges, the Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the "Bank") reserves the right to provide only one or some of the offer(s) and/or privilege(s) at its absolute discretion. For avoidance of doubt, customer who is eligible for Integrated Deposits Account Online Promotion Offer of HK$200 Cash Reward during the Promotion Period will not be eligible to the 2,000 Miles Online Offer.
  9. The Bank reserves the right to vary, modify and terminate the above offer and to amend any of these terms and conditions at any time without any notice. In case of disputes, the decision of the Bank shall be final and binding.
  10. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English version and its Chinese translation, the English version shall prevail.
  11. Separate terms and condition may apply to the relevant credit card, banking plans, products and services including but not limited to Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card, Priority Banking plan. For details, please refer to branch staff for details.

Conditions of Use of Priority Pass™ Airport Lounge Privileges

(Note: Please click here for the Notice of Change/ Important Note in relation to Standard Chartered/MANHATTAN Credit Cards.)

  1. The Priority Pass card is not transferable and is only valid up to its date of expiry and when it has been signed by the cardholder. The card may not be used by any person other than the cardholder.

  2. The Priority Pass card is not a payment card nor is it proof of creditworthiness and attempts to use it as such could constitute fraud.

  3. Admittance to the lounges is conditional upon presentation of a valid Priority Pass card only. Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Card or Priority Banking Credit Card will not be accepted as substitutes for the Priority Pass card.

  4. Complimentary access to participating airport lounges is only applicable to the Principal Cardholder of Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Card or Priority Banking Credit Card ("Principal Cardholder") who is within their first "Card Membership Year" (which is the full year from credit card issuance), complimentary access for the subsequent Card Membership Year and onwards is only applicable to Principal Cardholder who meets one of the following requirements:

    1. Principal Cardholder with Eligible Transactions of HK$150,000 or above in respective Standard Chartered Priority Banking Credit Card or Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Card account during the previous Card Membership Year; OR
    2. Principal Cardholder who meets the Priority Banking Minimum Relationship Balance Requirement each month, in the last 3 completed calendar months of the Card Membership Year.

    "Eligible Transactions" include all local and overseas retail purchases, billed amount of Interest-free Instalment Plan, online purchase, mail order, phone order, auto payment, Octopus Automatic Add-Value amount, insurance payment and casino chip exchange transactions that are posted within the period. Transactions made by the Principal and Supplementary Cardholders of the same account will be counted collectively. Other transactions are NOT eligible, including but not limited to tax payment, bill payment, handling fee, annual fee, past due charges, over limit charges, interest/finance charges, balance transfer amount, "Credit to Cash" amount, any respective handling fee and repayment amount of Statement Instalment Plan, Tax Instalment Program and any unauthorised transaction. Any unposted/cancelled/refunded/falsified transactions are also excluded.
    Lounge visit from Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Card or Priority Banking Credit Card Principal Cardholder(s) who cannot meet any of the above requirements, will be subject to a charge of HK$210 plus VAT (if applicable) per person per visit. For the avoidance of doubt, the charge is applicable to Supplementary Cardholder and accompanying guest. Where applicable (dependent upon membership plan), all such visits, including those by accompanying guests, shall be debited to the cardholder's Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Card or Priority Banking Credit Card as per the rates and terms notified by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the "Bank") to the cardholder in respect of his/her Priority Pass membership. Any changes in lounge visit charges made by Priority Pass group of companies shall be notified to the Bank, who is responsible for advising the cardholder. The Priority Pass group of companies cannot be held responsible for any disputes that may occur between the cardholder and the Bank nor for any loss incurred by the cardholder relating to any lounge visit charges debited by the Bank.

  5. When presenting the Priority Pass card on entering the lounge, lounge staff will take an imprint of the card and issue a "Record of Visit" voucher to the cardholder or make a log entry. Some lounges may have electronic card readers, which will take the cardholder's details off the magnetic strip on the reverse side of the Priority Pass card. Where applicable, the cardholder must sign the "Record of Visit" voucher, which will also reflect the exact number of accompanying guests, if any, but does not show any per person per visit charge. The charge per visit for the cardholder, where relevant, and that for any guests will be based on the "Record of Visit" voucher/log submitted by the lounge operator.

  6. While it is the responsibility of the lounge staff to ensure a voucher imprint/log is made of the Priority Pass card, the cardholder is responsible for ensuring the "Record of Visit" voucher/log correctly reflects their own usage and that of any guests at the time of using the lounge. Where applicable, the cardholder is responsible for retaining the "Cardholder's" copy of the "Record of Visit" voucher presented to them at the lounge.

  7. All participating lounges are owned and operated by third party organisations. The cardholder and any accompanying guests must abide by the rules and policies of each participating lounge/club. Access may be restricted due to space constraints but this will wholly at the discretion of each individual lounge operator. The Priority Pass group of companies and the Bank have no control over the facilities offered, the opening/closing times or the personnel employed by the lounges. The administrators of Priority Pass will use every endeavour to ensure the benefits and facilities are available as advertised, but the Priority Pass group of companies and the Bank do not warrant nor guarantee in any way that said benefits and facilities will be available at the time of the cardholder's visit. Neither is the Priority Pass group of companies nor the Bank liable for any loss to the cardholder, or any accompanying guests, arising from the provision or non-provision (whether in whole or in part) of any of the advertised benefits and facilities. All accompany children (where permitted) will be subject to the full guest fee unless otherwise stated in the lounge listing.

  8. Participating lounges may reserve the right to enforce a maximum stay policy (usually 3-4 hours) to prevent overcrowding. This is at the discretion of the individual lounge operator who may impose a charge for extended stays.

  9. Participating lounges have no contractual obligation to announce flights and the Priority Pass group of companies and the Bank shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect loss resulting out of any cardholder and/or accompanying guests failing to board their flight(s).

  10. The provision of free alcoholic drinks (where local law permits) is at the discretion of each lounge operator and in some cases may be limited. In such cases the cardholder is responsible for paying any charges for additional consumption direct to the lounge staff. (See individual lounge descriptions for details.)

  11. Telephone facilities (where available) vary from lounge to lounge and are provided at the lounge operator's discretion. Free usage is normally limited to local calls only. Fax, shower, internet and Wi-Fi charges (where applicable) are at the discretion of each lounge operator and the cardholder is responsible for paying these direct to the lounge staff.

  12. Admittance to lounges is strictly subject to cardholders and any guests being in possession of a valid flight ticket for the same day of travel. Outside the US, flight tickets must be accompanied by a valid boarding pass for a departing flight, i.e. outbound passengers only. Please note some lounges in Europe are located within designated Schengen areas of the airport which means that access is only provided to these lounges if members are traveling between Schengen countries. (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.)

  13. Admittance to lounges is subject to members and any guests (including children) behaving and dressing (no shorts allowed outside of the USA) in an orderly and correct manner. Any infants or children causing upset to other users' comfort may be asked to vacate the lounge facilities. The Priority Pass group of companies and the Bank are not liable for any loss suffered by the member and any guests where a lounge operator has refused admission because the member and/or guests have not complied with these conditions.

  14. Lost, stolen or damaged Priority Pass cards are to be notified immediately to the Bank, who shall be responsible for providing a replacement card.

  15. In the event of the cardholder canceling or not renewing their Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Card or Priority Banking Credit Card with the Bank, the Priority Pass card shall be invalid effective from the cancellation date of their Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Card or Priority Banking Credit Card. Any lounge visits made by a cardholder using an invalid card, including any guests, shall be charged to the cardholder.

  16. Renewal terms and conditions are at the discretion of Priority Pass Ltd. Priority Pass Ltd has the right to refuse membership to people who are employed by or contracted to an airline, airport or a Government in respect of airline or airport security.

  17. The Priority Pass group of companies and the Bank shall not be held responsible for any disputes that may occur between the cardholder and/or any guests and a lounge operator.

  18. The Priority Pass group of companies and the Bank reserve the right at any time at its absolute discretion and without notice to revoke membership in Priority Pass.

  19. The cardholder agrees that he/she will defend and indemnify the Priority Pass group of companies, its directors, officers, employees, agents and the Bank (collectively ‘the indemnified parties') against and hold each indemnified party harmless from all liabilities, damages, losses, claims, suits, judgments, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) for injury to or death of any person or damage to or destruction of any property arising out of the use of any lounge by the cardholder or any guests or any person in said lounge at the behest of the cardholder, except that such indemnification shall not extend to acts of gross negligence or willful misconduct by the indemnified parties.

  20. Issuance and usage of Priority Pass card will be subject to the financial standing of the cardholder's Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Card or Priority Banking Credit Card.

  21. Upon expiry of the Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Card or Priority Banking Credit Card on or before the expiration date shown on the Priority Pass card, the cardholders shall return Priority Pass card to the Bank immediately.

  22. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and the Chinese versions of these Conditions of Use, the English version shall prevail.
