Arrangements for exchanging new banknotes at branches

New banknotes and good-as-new notes will be available for exchange at our branches from 13 January 2022 to 31 January 2022. During the period, we will take special arrangements to reduce crowd gathering and waiting time in view of the pandemic.

All branches will provide new banknotes exchange services from 8am for the first three days of the service period, and all branch counters will only offer new banknotes exchange service from 8am to 10am to shorten clients’ waiting time and ensure smooth delivery of our services during normal hours.

New Banknotes Exchange Service Schedule:
13 January 2022 (Thursday) 8am to 10am (or until stocks last)
14 January 2022 (Friday) 8am to 10am (or until stocks last)
15 January 2022 (Saturday) 8am to 10am (or until stocks last)
17 January 2022 (Monday) to 31 January (Monday) 10am until stocks last
Special arrangements on new banknotes and good-as-new notes exchange service:
  • Designated queue ticketing arrangement will be implemented to reduce crowd gathering and the need to queue outside branches.
  • New banknotes exchange will be available for three weeks to allow sufficient time for the public to enjoy the service. We will ensure that new banknotes and good-as-new notes are supplied every day to better divert customer flow.
  1. SC Pay (FPS) is only applicable to payees who have registered for FPS service.
  2. Your payment is subject to the daily Non-registered Payee Transfer Limit, which could be up to HKD200,000.
  3. You will need a valid Standard Chartered Current or Savings account to register for SC Pay (FPS).
  4. You may transfer via SC Pay (FPS) on SC Mobile with Standard Chartered Current or Savings account or Standard Chartered Credit Card (expect UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card). Credit card only supports SC Pay (FPS) transfers on SC Mobile in HKD.
  5. Any transfer by credit card is subject to your available credit card limit and the maximum daily aggregated transfer limit for Non-registered Payee Transfer. More info is available here.
  6. Asia Miles/ 360° Reward Points/ Cash Rebate or any other credit card reward campaign and chargeback right/ protection is not applicable to SC Pay (FPS) transactions via SC Mobile by credit card.
  7. Over-limit electronic fund transfer handling fee may apply, if the total accumulated transfer amount exceeds the limit. For details, please refer to here.
