Ebdaa is the Shariah advisor and will coordinate with the Shariah Supervisory Board to monitor the Fund according to its investment guidelines.
The Shariah Supervisory Board of the Fund Manager consists of renowned Shariah Scholars, who will issue a Shariah Certificate (Fatwa) confirming that the product is Shariah compliant.
The Fund will seek to invest in accordance with the principles of Shariah as determined by the Shariah Supervisory Board.
Fund’s asset allocation is reviewed and rebalanced quarterly and follow Standard Chartered’s Global Investment Committee (GIC) cycle where our CIO views are formulated. In the case of a significant market event, CIO views may be revised intra-quarter and the Signature CIO Funds will be rebalanced accordingly.
On the equity and Sukuk allocation, changes might occur anytime and the portfolios will be rebalanced as and when the portfolios change
The Signature CIO Islamic Funds have daily liquidity.
One of the benefits of investing into the funds is having access to our asset allocation – a key contributor to the long-term performance of the fund. Having the right strategic and tactical asset allocation is key to having sustainable returns for long term wealth accumulation.
A secondary consideration would be the implementation efficiency. By investing into the fund, you are leveraging upon Aditum’s institutional relationships and direct pricing from market makers which allow them to transact in the securities more efficiently than one could as an individual investor.
The Signature CIO Islamic funds were designed to match the risk profile of the Signature CIO portfolios, but there are some key differences depicted below:
On Shariah Compliance:
• The Signature CIO Islamic funds are Shariah compliant while the conventional CIO funds are not.
On Structure/management:
• The Signature CIO Islamic funds invest directly in securities while the conventional CIO funds are fund-of-funds.
Asset class differences:
• As the Signature CIO Islamic portfolio will be Shariah Compliant, fixed income assets is replaced with Sukuks.
