Standard Chartered Mobile Malaysia is now on Huawei AppGallery!

As access to Google Play Store is restricted in China, we have made the Standard Chartered Mobile App available to download for Android phones through Huawei AppGallery.

Search for “SC Mobile Malaysia” in the Huawei AppGallery to download the app. (Important: Check out Technical Restrictions & FAQs below for more information)

Now you can download our App for your Android phone and use within China with ease.

Technical Restrictions

PUSH & INBOX NOTIFICATIONS

  • Users located in China who downloaded SC Mobile Malaysia app from Huawei AppGallery will not able to receive any Push or in-app Notifications.
  • Users located in China who downloaded SC Mobile Malaysia app from Huawei AppGallery will not able to opt-in the Inbox Notifications feature.
  • Users will continue to receive banking alerts via SMS on their registered mobile device.
  • Users who try to enable this feature will see the following message displayed:

    Google Push Notification services is not available in your location / supported on this device. Therefore, you may view any banking / marketing alerts directly in your Inbox by accessing it in the menu bar at the top left corner.

SC MOBILE KEY

  • Users located in China who downloaded from Huawei AppGallery will not able to receive any Push or in-app Notifications for authentication on Online Banking or any secondary device’s login.
  • Users will be required to generate an Offline PIN when accessing Online Banking, Online Banking transactions or any secondary device.
  • Users can also manually launch the SC Mobile Malaysia app on their mobile devices to authenticate their login & transactions.
  • Users who have successfully registered for SC Mobile Key will see the following message displayed:

    Google Play Services may be required for SC Mobile Key authentication. As this service is not available in your location / supported on this device, please generate an “Offline PIN” to authenticate your login / transactions on Online Banking when triggered.

    How to generate Offline PIN

    • Open the SC Mobile App and access the menu bar at the top left corner.
    • Click into Offline PIN and generate your PIN for either Login / Transactions.

FAQs

  • No, you do not have to download this version of SC Mobile Malaysia app from the Huawei AppGallery. At any one time, client should only be using one SC Mobile Malaysia app. If client has downloaded SC Mobile Malaysia from Google Play Store and has no issue using it, there is no further action required.

  • Client who is based in China will need to change his/her mobile device’s Country/Region selection to “Malaysia” in Huawei AppGallery. This can be done in the profile “Me” tab, do ensure that client has a valid Huawei ID. Client can proceed to install the app by searching for “SC Mobile Malaysia”. Please also ensure that client’s mobile device has installed minimum OS (Android 9) to support our SC Mobile Malaysia app.

  • SC Mobile Key will continue to work on the mobile device that is registered with the soft token. For Online Banking and any other secondary device, clients are required to generate an ‘Offline PIN’ on the registered mobile device in order to authenticate any login or banking transactions. Alternatively, clients can manually launch our SC Mobile Malaysia app to perform authentication.

  • Google Play Services is required to support for push or in-app notifications. As Google Play Services may not be available in your current location or may not supported on your device, you are required to “Generate an Offline PIN” or manually launch our SC Mobile Malaysia app to authenticate for Online Banking access.

  • Google Play Services is required to receive push or in-app notifications via SC Mobile Malaysia. Please refer to Technical Restrictions above for more information. You will continue to receive your banking alerts via SMS.
