Promotion Terms and Conditions for Premium programme
You need to read this document.

It sets out specific terms and conditions on which we agree to provide you with any of the products and services under the Premium programme ("Premium") Promotion. You must read it in conjunction with our Client Terms, and the applicable documents referred to in Part A of Client Terms (including the Current/Cheque/Savings Account and Time Deposit Account Terms, product brochure, Important Notes and promotional terms (if applicable)) and any other documents forming our banking agreement. The banking agreement is available to you at any of our branches or our website at www.sc.com/hk. If there is any inconsistency between the approval (if any) and any other part(s) of our banking agreement, then the terms in the approval prevails. These terms do not apply to any existing product(s) and service(s) you have with us to the extent that they are subject to separate terms and conditions.


Promotion Terms and Conditions for Premium programme

A. General Terms and Conditions

  1. The promotion period is from 1 April 2017 to 30 June 2017 , both dates inclusive (the "Promotion Period"). The promotion consists of offers as set out in Sections B-H (each an "Offer", collectively "Offers").
  2. Client will be entitled to the Offers as specified below only once during the Promotion Period. If clients use or set up the relevant banking service account under joint name status, only the Primary Account Holder will be eligible to enjoy the Offer(s).
  3. If the client is entitled to the following Offers in conjunction with other promotional offers, Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the "Bank") reserves the right to grant the client one of or part of the entitled offers.
  4. Unless otherwise specified, the Offers under Sections B and C are applicable only to client who has not been a Premium(formerly known as Personal Banking Privileged Plan) or Priority Banking client in the preceding 12 months from the date of the Premium sign-up.
  5. Eligible client’s subscription for the Premium and the relevant banking products and services mentioned under Clause 1(a) of Section B must remain valid at the time of the Cash Rebate, Reward or Coupon is credited or delivered to the client under the Offers under Sections B, C & G below. Otherwise, the Cash Rebate, Reward or Coupon under the relevant Offer(s) will be forfeited absolutely and not to be provided to the client through any other means.
  6. If the relevant account balance, transaction amount or transaction fee (or premium under any life assurance basic plans) is denominated in foreign currency, for the purpose of calculating any entitlement under the Offer(s), the Bank’s exchange rate (or exchange rate determined by Prudential Hong Kong Limited (a member of Prudential plc group) (“Prudential”) for insurance premium) quoted at its discretion from time to time will be adopted for converting the relevant account balance (or insurance premium) from the foreign currency to HKD equivalent, which will then be used to calculate the Offer entitlement.
  7. Client acknowledges that the Asia MilesTM earned shall be credited to his/her Asia Miles membership account by Asia Miles Limited. The Bank will use its best endeavour to provide the necessary information to Asia Miles Limited to facilitate this purpose, however the Bank makes no warranty that the Asia Miles earned will be accurately credited to the Asia Miles membership account by Asia Miles Limited and accepts no liability for failure or delay in the crediting of Asia Miles to the client’s Asia Miles membership account for any reason beyond the Bank’s control. The Bank accepts no liability relating to the Asia Miles, including but not limited to the expiry date, usage and redemption. For enquiries relating to crediting of the Asia Miles and the relevant terms and conditions, please contact Asia Miles Limited and/or refer to Asia Miles Limited website at www.asiamiles.com.
  8. Terms and Conditions of Asia Miles apply for redemption and/or use of Asia Miles. For details, please visit www.asiamiles.com. The Bank is not obliged to limited clients of any changes or latest announcements of Asia Miles. Clients understand and accept that the Bank is not supplier of the redeemed items (including Asia Miles). The Bank shall bear no liability relating to any aspect of the Asia Miles and/or redeemed items, including without limitation, their quality, the supply, the descriptions provided by the supplier, any false trade the reward of description, misrepresentation, mis-statement, omission, unauthorized representation, unfair trade practices or conduct in connection with the Asia Miles and/or redeemed items provided by the supplier, its employees, officers or agents.
  9. Each of the banking products or services set out in the Terms and Conditions is subject to respective eligibility, application process and product Terms and Conditions. For details, please contact the Bank’s staff.
  10. The deposit and balance maintenance requirements mentioned in these Terms and Conditions are part of a promotional offer for Gift, Cash Rebate or Fee Waiver (as the case may be). They are not mandatory requirements which must be met before a client may apply and be granted any banking product or service. Any one of our products or services may be applied and be granted independently.
  11. The Bank reserves the right to determine the calculation methods applied under the Offers (including in ascertaining the amount of any applicable balance requirement) and verify the client’s transaction records in considering the client’s eligibility for the Offers. In case of any disputes, the Bank’s decision shall be final and binding.
  12. The Bank reserves the right to vary, amend or terminate any of the following Offer(s) and to modify any of the Terms and Conditions below from time to time without prior notice. In case of any disputes, the decision of the Bank shall be final and binding.
  13. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and the Chinese versions, the English version shall apply and prevail.

B. First 4-quarter Maintenance Fee Waiver Offer (the “Fee Waiver Offer”)

  1. To enjoy the Fee Waiver Offer, client must sign up for Premium during Promotion Period and fulfil all the requirements below (“Eligible Client"):
    1. Taking up or holding HKD Savings Account, HKD Current Account (or any Foreign Currency Savings Account), Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card or Standard Chartered Asia Miles MasterCard, Standard Chartered ATM Card, and Online Banking Services (or Phone Banking Services) upon Premium sign-up. Client must complete the registration of Online Banking Services or use the Phone Banking Services at least once within 2 weeks from the date of signing up for Premium; and
    2. Completing “Customer Investment Profile” questionnaire within 2 weeks from the date of signing up for Premium; and
    3. Meeting the entry Relationship Balance (see Important Notes below) requirement within 2 weeks from the date of signing up for Premium, as follows:

C. Terms and Conditions for New Funds Growth Offer (“New Funds Growth Offer”) - Privilege 1

  1. Subject to the conditions below, New Funds Growth Offer will be given to Eligible Client (as defined in Clause 1 of Section B) as per table shown below according to the New Funds Growth Amount (as defined in Clause 2 below) the Eligible Client may procure during the Promotion Period as compared to the Eligible Client’s Total Balance (see Important Notes below) at the Bank as of 28 February 2017 :

  1. Eligible Client has to deposit the new funds to the Bank within 2 weeks upon Premium sign-up (by cash, cheque/cashier’s order, Local Bank Transfer Payment through Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS, also known as Clearing House Automated Transfer System (CHATs)), telegraphic transfer from other banks excluding renewal or rollover of existing time deposits, transfer of funds from any account within the Bank or any currency converted from Premium Deposit upon maturity) to grow the Eligible Client’s Total Balance at the Bank (including the aggregate balance of deposits, investments and accumulated premiums of selected insurance under personal account as primary account holder) ("New Funds"). Any amount of New Funds deposited by the Eligible Client as shown in excess of the Eligible Client’s Total Balance at the Bank as of 28 February 2017 shall be considered the "New Funds Growth Amount". For client who did not hold any account with the Bank on 28 February 2017, his/her Total Balance on such date will be treated as zero. To check the amount of Total Balance as of 28 February 2017, please contact the Bank’s staff.
  2. Eligible Client is required to maintain the new Total Balance (including the New Funds Growth Amount) until the designated date as stated in Clause 2 of Section B under these Terms and Conditions in order to be eligible for the New Funds Growth Offer. If not, the Bank reserves the right to cancel or forfeit absolutely the entitlements under the New Funds Growth Offer.
  3. Eligible Client must have an existing Asia Miles membership account otherwise has to set up an Asia Miles membership account for the entitlement of Asia Miles Reward. Eligible Client must have successfully registered online within 1 April 2017 to 31 July 2017, both dates inclusive (“Registration Period”) with valid Asia Miles membership in the name of the Eligible Client at the Bank’s website at sc.com/hk/AM to enjoy the relevant Asia Miles. Successful registration cannot be cancelled. For Eligible Client with multiple online registration submission, only the latest registration record will be taken by the Bank for miles crediting. The Bank will forward the relevant information, including valid Asia Miles information including family name, given name, membership number of the Eligible Client, as well as the entitled miles, if any, to Asia Miles Limited by December 2017. Asia Miles Reward will be credited into relevant account within 4 to 6 weeks thereafter. In case of information submitted is incorrect or insufficient as considered by the Bank or Asia Miles Limited, Cash Rebate will be made available in replacement of Asia Miles Reward to Eligible Client, and will be credited to Eligible Client’s HKD deposit account (according to the sequence as stated in Clause 6 below) with related Terms and Conditions fulfilled by January 2018 as the New Funds Growth Offer. For avoidance of doubt, Terms and Conditions of Asia Miles shall apply for mileage redemptions. For details, please visit www.asiamiles.com. Notification Letter will be mailed to the Eligible Client upon successful crediting of Asia Miles/Cash Rebate..
  4. As an alternative to the Asia Miles offer above, Cash Rebate will be made available to Eligible Client as shown below according to this Offer’s requirement that the Eligible Client fulfilled.

  1. The Bank will credit the relevant amount of Cash Rebate to respective HKD deposit account (excluding MortgageOne® Account and Mortgage$aver Current Account) held by the Eligible Client in sole name or in the capacity as primary account holder for joint account by December 2017 in the following sequence:
    1. Sub-account under Integrated Deposits Account;
    2. Current Account;
    3. Statement Savings Account;
    4. Passbook Savings Account
    If Eligible Client has no valid HKD deposit account, the Bank will credit to Eligible Client’s USD deposit account as above sequence. If Eligible Client has more than one account under same account type, the Bank will select any one of the accounts with the latest account opening date for the crediting at its discretions. Notification Letter will be mailed to the Eligible Client upon successful crediting of Cash Rebate.
  2. If client terminates Premium within 12 months from the date of sign-up, the Bank reserves the right to charge the relevant client who has received the offer for the amount equivalent to the value of the New Funds Growth Offer as administration fee and debit the same from any of the client’s account with the Bank without prior notice.

D. Terms and Conditions for Standard Chartered Asia Miles MasterCard Welcome Offer - Privilege 2

For Standard Chartered Asia Miles MasterCard Welcome Offer, please refer to the “Important Information and Terms and Conditions for Application of Standard Chartered Credit Card” leaflet or contact the Bank’s staff for details.

E. Important Notes for Standard Chartered Asia Miles MasterCard Application

  1. All principal cardholders (“Cardholders”) of Standard Chartered Asia Miles MasterCard (“Card”) will be entitled to first year annual fee waiver upon successful Card application. Thereafter, Cardholders of the Cards will enjoy an annual fee waiver on their Cards for a year (beginning from the respective anniversary of the issuance date of their Cards) if the aggregate eligible transactions made by the principal and any supplementary card(s) (if applicable) of the same Card account in the preceding year reach HKD150,000. Otherwise, the Bank will charge an annual fee of HKD1,800 on an annual basis.
  2. The Annualised Percentage Rates (“APR”) for Standard Chartered Asia Miles MasterCard 33.41% (0.086% per day) for retail purchases and 36.54% (0.086% per day) for cash advance when Credit Card account is opened and it will be reviewed from time to time. An APR is a reference rate which includes the basic interest rate and other fees and charges of a product expressed as an annualised rate. APR is calculated based on the guidelines as set out in the Code of Banking Practice and is for reference only, inclusive of Cash Advance Fee (if applicable). F. Terms and Conditions for Securities Brokerage Offer– Privilege 3

  1. This Offer is only applicable to clients who have not maintained a Securities Services account with the Bank, either in sole name or joint name, within 12 months from the date of Premium sign-up prior to Securities Services account sign up (“Eligible Securities Brokerage Offer Client”). For the avoidance of doubt, the offer is NOT applicable to Private Banking clients.
  2. Eligible Clients who newly sign up for Securities Services account during the Promotion Period will be entitled to $0 brokerage commission offer for all BUY transaction(s) executed during the Securities Services account sign up month and the following 3 calendar months. $0 brokerage commission offer is applicable to order placement via both Online Banking and Breeze Trade in relation to the stocks listed on the Main Board or Growth Enterprise Market of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. All SELL transactions executed are not eligible for $0 brokerage commission offer.
  3. There is no limit on BUY transaction amount which is eligible for $0 brokerage commission but Eligible Clients are required to settle all other relevant transaction fees (if applicable). Relevant brokerage commission amount charged within the Promotion Period will be refunded and credited to the Eligible Securities Brokerage Offer Clients’ settlement accounts in the form of Cash Rebate on or before 31 October 2017( for sign up between 1 April 2017 and 30 June 2017). If Eligible Securities Brokerage Offer Clients have opened more than one Securities Account during the Transaction Period, only the first opened account will be entitled to Securities Brokerage Offer.
  5. To be eligible for the brokerage commission rebate, the Securities Services account and relevant settlement account of Eligible Client must still be valid at the time of brokerage commission rebate, otherwise the brokerage commission rebate will be forfeited and not be provided to the client through any other means.

G. Terms and Conditions for Asia Miles Time Deposit Rewards - Privilege 4

  1. Asia Miles Time Deposit Rewards are available between the Promotion Period as stated in Table 1 of Clause 4, both dates inclusive (the “Promotion Period”).
  2. Asia Miles Time Deposit Rewards are applicable to the following clients (“Selected Clients"):
    1. All Clients: including all existing clients of the Bank and any clients as defined in sub-clause (ii) below.
    2. New clients who (i) did NOT hold any product or service with or distributed by the Bank (including but not limited to deposit account, investment services and insurance products underwritten by third party insurer) in the past 12 months from the date of sign-up of Premium programme except Standard Charted credit cards and (ii) sign up for Premium programme during the Promotion Period (“Premium New Clients”).
      Standard Chartered credit cards refer to Standard Chartered Credit Card, Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card and Standard Chartered co-branded credit card (including supplementary cards and corporate cards) issued by the Bank.
  3. To be eligible for the Asia Miles Time Deposit Rewards, Selected Clients must set up Time Deposit Account(s) with the Bank at 0.01% p.a. interest rate in sole name within the Promotion Period.
  4. Selected Client who sets up Time Deposit that meets the requirements in the first to sixth row of Table 1 below will be entitled to the Asia Miles as set out in the seventh and the eighth row of Table 1 below.

  6. Fund Types in Table 1 of Clause 4 are defined as below:
    1. New Funds” refer to monies newly deposited into the Bank within 3 days before Time Deposit account opening date via cash, cheque, cashier’s order, Local Bank Transfer Payment through Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS, also known as Clearing House Automated Transfer System (CHATs)) or Telegraphic Transfer from other banks. It excludes the renewal or rollover of existing time deposits, transfer of funds from any account within the Bank or any currency converted from Premium Deposits upon maturity.
    2. Converted Funds” refer to the funds converted from any currency into relevant currency of the Time Deposit. It excludes any currency converted from Premium Deposits or Currency Switching upon maturity. By using Converted Funds, clients must set up the Time Deposit account on the same day of Foreign Exchange conversion.
  7. Selected Clients must have an existing Asia Miles membership account otherwise has to set up an Asia Miles membership account for the entitlement of Asia Miles Time Deposit Rewards. Selected Clients must have successfully submitted Asia Miles Rewards Registration Form within the Registration Period as stated in Table 1 of Clause 4 , both days inclusive (“Registration Period”) with valid Time Deposit Account and Asia Miles membership information in the name of the Selected Clients at the Bank’s website at sc.com/hk/AM to enjoy the relevant Asia Miles Time Deposit Rewards. Successful registration cannot be cancelled. Selected Clients are responsible for the accuracy of the information submitted in online registration form. For Selected Clients who have made multiple online registration submissions, only the latest registration record will be used by the Bank for fulfillment purpose. The Bank will forward the relevant information, including valid Asia Miles membership information including family name, given name, membership number of the Selected Clients, as well as the entitled miles, if any, to Asia Miles Limited for fulfillment purpose.
  8. After the Selected Clients fulfilled the requirements in Clauses 2 to 6, Asia Miles rewards will be credited into relevant account on or before the Fulfilment Date (as stated in Table 1 of Clause 4).
  9. In case of failure in the crediting of the Asia Miles to the client’s Asia Miles membership account on or before the Fulfilment Date for any reason beyond the Bank’s control (i.e. including but not limited to the information submitted is incorrect or insufficient as considered by the Bank or Asia Miles Limited or if any of the criteria relating to Asia Miles Time Deposit Rewards has not been met), the Bank reserves the right to cancel or forfeit absolutely the entitlement of Asia Miles or to convert the un-credited Asia Miles into a ratio of 2 Asia Miles for HKD0.1 “Cash Rebate” to the Selected Clients. Such amount of Cash Rebate will be credited into the designated deposit account of the time deposit account of the Selected Clients within 4 weeks after the Fulfilment Date.
  10. The Bank reserves the right to make any adjustment to the Asia Miles Time Deposit Rewards from time to time at its sole absolute discretion. The Bank reserves the right to approve or reject the set up of any time deposit at its own discretion and to alter or terminate the offer and the relevant terms and conditions at anytime. Should there be any disputes; the Bank’s decision is final and conclusive.
  11. Early uplift of Time Deposit is subject to the Bank’s discretion and penalty. In such case, the Asia Miles rewards will be revoked or forfeited by the Bank without notification and the penalty amount will be calculated based on the following formula:
  12. Time Deposit Principal x (Best Lending Rate^ – Time Deposit Interest Rate) x Number of Days Due to Maturity /Total Number of Days in A Year
    Note: In some circumstances, the Bank may allow an early withdrawal. The Bank may not pay all the interest accrued if the clients make an early withdrawal may result in the clients getting less than the principal amount of deposit. In case of early uplift of Time Deposit, the Bank will forfeit the relevant offers absolutely without notification and will not compensate the client by any other means.

    ^ The Best Lending Rate will be determined by the Bank from time to time.

  13. Relevant terms and conditions specified in Current/Cheque/Savings Account and Time Deposit Account Terms and Deposit Confirmation apply to Asia Miles Time Deposit Rewards.

I. Terms and Conditions for Integrated Deposits Account Cash Rebate Online Welcome Offer (the “Cash Rebate Offer”)

  1. The promotion period for the Cash Rebate Offer is from 1 April 2017 to 30 June 2017, both dates inclusive(the "Promotion Period").
  2. Clients who fulfill ALL of (i) – (vi) below within the Promotion Period maybe eligible for the Cash Rebate Offer (" Eligible Client"):
    1. Submit an Online Application Form for Integrated Deposits Account (" Online Application");
    2. Successfully open an Integrated Deposits Account ("IDA") at any branch of Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the “Bank”) after Online Application submission;
    3. Successfully register as Standard Chartered Online Banking client;
    4. Successfully sign up for any Banking Plan (Priority Banking, Premium programme or Easy Banking);
    5. Do not hold any Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited deposit account, including Savings Account(s), Current/ Cheque Account(s), Integrated Deposits Account(s) and Time Deposit Account(s), with the Bank in the past 12 months from the date of Online Application submission (" New Client"); and
    6. Hold a valid Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card
  3. The Cash Rebate Offer that Eligible Client is entitled to will be determined by the Banking Plan signed up by Eligible Client according to the following table during the Promotion Period. Subscription for corresponding Banking Plan and the newly opened IDA account must remain valid at the time when the offer is provided to the client. Otherwise, the relevant offer will be forfeited absolutely. Separate terms and conditions apply to Banking Plan. For details, please refer to relevant terms and conditions or contact any of the Bank’s staff at branches.

  5. Eligible Client is entitled to the Cash Rebate Offer once only during the Promotion Period.
  6. The relevant amount of cash rebate will be credited into the HKD deposit account (exclude MortgageOne® Account and Mortgage $aver Current Account) under Eligible Client’s personal name as primary account holder with the Bank at the sole discretion of the Bank on or before 31 August 2017 in the following sequence:
    1. Sub-account under IDA;
    2. Current/ Cheque Account;
    3. Statement Savings Account;
    4. Passbook Savings Account;
  7. If client does not have a valid HKD deposit account, the Bank will credit to Eligible Clients’ USD deposit account as above sequence (For joint name account, only if the Eligible Client is the Primary Account Holder can be entitled to the offer).

  8. If Eligible Client does not have a valid IDA / HKD or USD Savings Account / HKD or USD Current Account on the date when the cash rebate is credited, the relevant offer shall be forfeited absolutely and shall not be paid to the Eligible Client through any other means.
  9. In the event that Eligible Client is also entitled to other prevailing promotional offer(s) or deposit privilege(s), the Bank reserves the right to provide only one or some of the offer(s) and/or privilege(s) at its absolute discretion. For avoidance of doubt, client who is eligible for IDA Asia MilesTM Reward Online Welcome Offer will not be eligible for other deposit account Online Welcome Offers, including but not limited to IDA Cash Rebate Online Welcome Offer.
  10. The Bank reserves the right to vary, modify and terminate the above offer and to amend any of these terms and conditions at any time without any notice. In case of disputes, the decision of the Bank shall be final and binding.
  11. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English version and its Chinese translation, the English version shall prevail.
