Remarks

  1. Standard Chartered / MANHATTAN Credit Card Principal Card customers are eligible for Standard Chartered / MANHATTAN Credit Card Octopus Automatic Add Value Service, but it is not applicable to Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card (formerly known as Standard Chartered American Express® Card), Standard Chartered JOS Visa Platinum Card, Corporate Card and Visa Signature Business Card.
  2. Application of Automatic Add Value Service ("AAVS") for Supplementary Credit Card holder is only applicable to Principal Credit Card holder who has already enrolled / would like to apply the AAVS at the same time.
  3. Each of the applicants must apply for the AAVS with an Octopus card or product ("Octopus"). The approval of the application shall be at the discretion of Octopus Cards Limited and Standard Chartered Bank ("the Bank").
  4. Phone application for Octopus Automatic Add Value Service can only be made by the principal cardholder only.
  5. The AAVS is free for all first time applications. A handling fee of HK$20 will be levied for applications switched from other banks or re-activation of AAVS. The handling fee will be deducted from the newly designated credit card once the application is approved.
  6. Should applicants who opt for auto-reloading HK$150/HK$500 per transaction want to switch to another bank that only provides the option of auto-reloading HK$250 per transaction thereafter, applicants should either change the auto-reloading amount to HK$250 or cancel the AAVS before switching to another bank. Applicants are required to pay Octopus Cards Limited a non-refundable handling fee.

FAQ

1. How many times does Octopus linked with Automatic Add Value Service (“AAVS”) reload per day?

Each Octopus linked with AAVS can only be automatically reloaded once per day.

2. Can I apply for AAVS with Standard Chartered / MANHATTAN for more than one Octopus?

No. If you have more than one Standard Chartered / MANHATTAN credit cards, you can only use one of the Standard Chartered cards or MANHATTAN cards to apply for AAVS. However, each Octopus Holder can apply maximum 3 AAVS for his/her family members or friends with the same Standard Chartered / MANHATTAN credit cards.

Application of Automatic Add Value Service ("AAVS") for Supplementary Credit Card holder is only applicable to Principal Credit Card holder who has already enrolled / apply the AAVS at the same time.

3. How can I change the auto-reload amount among HK$150/HK$250/HK$500?

You can make your request by visiting any of our Standard Chartered branches or online submit or download an application form from our website. Simply fill in the form by ticking a box of “I would like to change the reload amount for existing AAVS.” on the form or fax to 2282 0219 or mail to Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited, P.O. Upon approval of your application, our bank will then issue a notification letter. You may activate the change at any MTR Customer Service Centre.

4. How can I apply to transfer the AAVS from one SCB credit card to another SCB credit card?

You can make your request by visiting any of our Standard Chartered branches or online submit or download an application form from our website. Simply fill in the form by ticking a box of “I would like to change the credit card number for existing AAVS.” on the form and fax to 2282 0219 or mail to Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited, P.O. 5. Under what circumstances will there be a charge for AAVS application?

The service is free for first-time applicants. There is a handling fee of HK$20 charged from Octopus card for switching financial institution or service re-activation. The handling fee will be deducted from the account by the newly designated financial institution.

6. How do I transfer my AAVS account from other financial institutes to SCB credit card?

If you would like to transfer your AAVS from other financial institutes credit card to SCB credit card, You can make your request by visiting any of our Standard Chartered branches or online submit or download an application form from our website. 7. How do I transfer the AAVS from SCB to other financial institutes?

The transfer of an authorised debit account from Standard Chartered to another financial institutes can be done without cancelling the AAVS. Simply complete and submit an application form to the newly designated financial institution.

8. How can I apply for a transfer of my AAVS account and change the auto-reload amount at the same time?

Our Bank does not accept the change request for both AAVS account and auto-reload amount for existing Octopus Automatic Add Value Service (“AAVS”) on the same application form. Please note we will only process the change request of AAVS account for existing AAVS but will cancel the auto-reload amount change request on the same application form. Hence, please submit separate applications accordingly.
