Standard Chartered UAE Priority Referral Program – July-December 2021

Terms and Conditions

  1. The Referral Program (“Program”) will run from 1 July 2021 until 31 December 2021 (both dates inclusive).
  2. The Program is available to all existing Standard Chartered Bank UAE clients, with the exception of Bank staff as mentioned below. To be eligible to participate in the Program, the “Referrer” must have an existing active individual banking relationship with Standard Chartered Bank UAE (the “Bank”) in its Personal Banking, Premium Banking or Priority Banking segments prior to referring.
  3. For the purpose of this campaign:
    1. The existing client (“referrer”) of Standard Chartered Bank UAE (the “Bank”) can refer new-to-bank clients who have not been Standard Chartered clients within the past 12 months and have opened accounts during the Campaign Period and/or do not hold existing Current and/or Savings Account and/or Term Deposit accounts with the Bank in its Personal Banking, Premium Banking, Priority Banking or Private Banking segments.
    2. Eligible products for Deposit Products include Current and/or Savings Account, including Saadiq variants.
    3. Assets under Management (“AUM”) is calculated as the sum of balances of all Deposit Products, in AED or foreign currency equivalents.
    4. Products which are not eligible for the campaign and will not be part of AUM calculations are Investments including Mutual Funds, Wrap products, Fixed income securities, Smart Savings Plans, Single premium insurance, including Investments held under Wealth Lending, and MortgageOne and SaadiqOne accounts.
    5. New Funds: For New to Bank clients, New Funds are defined as the minimum monthly AUM held by the client during for 3 calendar months, following the month in which the account was opened.
  4. By referring an individual to the Bank, the Referrer agrees to:
    1. Consent to the Bank disclosing the Referrer’s name, and the fact that the Referrer is a client of the “Bank” to such referred Individual(s);
    2. By referring a client to the “Bank”, the Referrer confirms that they have already informed the individual and have obtained his/her specific consent to disclose his/her name and contact numbers to the “Bank”.
  1. Successful Referral: To be eligible for the referral reward (“reward”) under the Program as stated below, the referred client must successfully sign up for Priority Banking services with the “Bank” and:
    1. The referred clients must fund the account with the minimum AUM requirement as per table below
    2. Funding Requirement: The funds should be held in the account for a minimum period of 3 calendar months for the referral to be successful

  1. Clients cannot refer themselves, their family members (spouse, father, mother, siblings and children) or family members of existing bank clients under the Referral Program; Additionally, family members of clients already referred under this program will not be considered as successful referrals.
  2. If more than one “referrer” recommends the same client; the first one to make that referral will be entitled to the reward. In the event of a dispute, Standard Chartered Bank shall have the final discretion in deciding who the first referrer is.
  3. All Standard Chartered Bank clients or any staff of Standard Chartered Bank are eligible to participate in the referral program, excluding the Bank’s Affluent & Branch Banking, Mortgage Sales and Credit Card sales teams.
  4. By referring a client to the “Bank”, the Referrer confirms that they indemnify the Bank (including its employees, agents, and assignees) and undertake to keep them harmless against any proceedings, claims, costs, and/or expenses (including any legal expenses) resulting from the Bank’s action on the referral.
  5. As a client of Standard Chartered Bank UAE (being either the Referrer or the Referred) your general banking relationship with the Bank will be governed by the Standard Chartered Bank General Terms and Conditions (UAE). They can be found on our website at av.sc.com/ae/content/docs/tcct.pdf. Please ensure you have read and understood them. In addition to this, where you (being either the Referrer or the Referred) have taken a specific Standard Chartered Bank product, your product will be governed by the applicable product terms and conditions.
  6. The bank will credit the cashback into the client’s current / savings account upon qualification. Clients will be required to have an open and active AED current / savings account to receive the cashback.
  7. Cashback are non-transferable and cannot be paid, remitted or deposited to a person or account other than the client.
  8. The Bank shall not pay late payment charges or additional profit for any delay in giving the cashback and/or prize.
  9. The Bank shall not be liable for any delay in giving the cashback and/or prize if such delay is because the client cannot be contacted.
  10. Minor / Guardianship accounts are excluded from the campaign.
  11. Rewards can be forfeited if the Bank has sufficient grounds to believe that the referrer has violated any laws or regulations applicable in UAE.
  12. The Bank reserves the right to terminate this program with immediate effect and without notice of such termination to you. In such event, you waive any rights, which you may have against us and you acknowledge that you will have no recourse or claim of any nature whatsoever against us, our directors, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers and contractors.
  13. Standard Chartered Bank UAE has the sole discretion to determine whether a referral qualifies as a successful referral.
  14. Standard Chartered Bank UAE reserves the right to alter, amend or withdraw these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice to you. The “Bank’s” decisions on all matters relating to the program shall be final and conclusive.
