Our client, a Malaysian bank, wanted to hedge its USD/MYR exposure. It needed a partner with local-currency experience, and one that could also risk-manage derivatives for new risk-free rate (RFR) indices. As a result, we structured the first-ever MYR Kuala Lumpur Interbank Offered Rate (KLIBOR)-USD SOFR cross-currency basis swap.
