Our commitment

At Standard Chartered, we believe that diverse teams build stronger banks and better futures. Women are at the heart of everything we do – as leaders, innovators, client champions, and change-makers across every market we serve. Our commitment to gender equality is not a policy on paper. It’s woven into our culture, our hiring, our leadership pipelines, and our daily decisions.

The numbers

Since signing the Women in Finance Charter in 2016, we have made meaningful progress in increasing the representation of women in senior leadership roles globally. As of December 2025, women represented 33 per cent of senior leadership, reflecting an increase of 8 percentage points since 2016.

We recognise that strengthening the pipeline of women into senior and higher paid roles requires sustained focus and structural change. To support long-term progress, we have extended our global senior women representation target by three years to 35 per cent by the end of 2028, allowing time for our actions to take effect and deliver sustainable outcomes.

    Equal pay commitment

    We conduct annual pay equity reviews across all markets and publish our findings. We are committed to closing any identified gaps within 12 months.
