Siti Sarah

Siti’s manager shares her inspirational personal journey

Siti Sara completing the 10K race

In early 2024, Siti Sarah walked into a clinic for what was meant to be a routine blood test and walked out with a life-altering diagnosis: cancer. In a moment, her world shifted. Yet instead of succumbing to fear, she chose courage. With quiet strength, she informed her line manager in Market Operations and began targeted therapy; a journey that demanded more than anyone could imagine.

There were days when treatment left her exhausted, and nights when pain tried to silence her resolve. But through it all, she never gave up. She adapted, adjusted, and pressed on. With the organisation’s full support through flexible work arrangements, she continued to contribute meaningfully, embodying professionalism, resilience, and a deep sense of purpose. Even in her most challenging moments, her spirit remained unbroken, her determination unwavering!

Sometimes, greatness isn’t measured by titles or accolades, it’s measured by how one chooses to rise when life delivers its hardest blows..

Siti Sara

Eighteen months later, her story took a beautiful turn. Her cancer markers showed a remarkable decline and to celebrate life, she did something extraordinary. She stood at the starting line of the Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur Marathon, and with every step of her 10km run, she proved that resilience is more than endurance. It’s faith, it’s heart and it’s hope.

Siti Sarah embodies everything our values stand for; never Settle and here for good. She reminds us that excellence isn’t only about achievement, but about the strength to rise, the courage to continue, and the grace to inspire others along the way. Her journey has touched every one of us in the team, a living reminder that even in the face of life’s greatest trials, the human spirit can prevail, beautifully and bravely!

As her manager, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing Siti’s journey up close; a story of extraordinary courage, quiet strength, and relentless optimism. She never once sought sympathy, only the opportunity to keep contributing in whatever way she could. Watching her fight through the toughest of times while still showing up with grace, humour, and commitment has been nothing short of inspiring. Her story reminds us all that resilience isn’t just about overcoming challenges; it’s about how we choose to face them. I could not be prouder to nominate her for this award. She is living proof that excellence is born not just from skill or talent, but from heart, perseverance, and the unbreakable will to keep moving forward.
