From Private Banking to Marketing

Roudha’s journey of evolving her career through internal growth

Curiosity opened the first door, skills unlocked the next
Curiosity to explore beyond her role led Roudha from Private Banking to Marketing, proving that growth begins where comfort ends. By applying her client-servicing expertise in a new space, she discovered how transferable skills and an open mindset can unlock unexpected opportunities.

Where it all began
Joining Standard Chartered in 2021, she was eager to build a career that combined creativity, strategy, and a global outlook. Starting in Private Banking, she quickly realised that the Bank’s innovation and client focus aligned with her own drive to learn and grow.

Over time, she gained exposure to different responsibilities that developed my technical expertise and leadership skills. Encouraged by supportive managers and mentors, she soon discovered that true growth often begins by stepping into the unfamiliar.

Exploring new directions through internal mobility
When the opportunity arose to transition internally, Roudha moved from Private Banking to Marketing, a shift that allowed her to blend her client-servicing experience with creativity and communication.

“My internal deployment experience gave me the chance to explore a new area of the Bank while still applying my core skills. It broadened my understanding of different business functions, built new relationships, and strengthened my adaptability.”

With the guidance of her manager and the team’s support, the transition was smooth and enriching, helping her build confidence and clarity in her new role.

A skills-based path to growth
Now an Associate in Marketing in UAE, Roudha acts as a bridge between the Bank and its customers, ensuring that products and services are communicated clearly and meaningfully.

I like that my role lets me combine creativity with strategy. I get to turn ideas into campaigns that connect with people and reflect the Bank’s values.
