My 14 year journey
Never Settle
Over the past 14 years, I have been privileged to receive numerous career opportunities, allowing me to gain invaluable insights from senior leaders and colleagues. My role as a Client Manager provided me with a deep understanding of the Bank’s operations, which facilitated my transition to a Credit Analyst position, where I developed my credit assessment skills. The move to middle management was challenging but essential in building the resilience required for career advancement and preparing me for my current role.
Better Together
Throughout my career, I have had the pleasure of working with many remarkable individuals, and my colleagues in the Credit Analyst team truly exemplify the power of collaboration. During a particularly challenging period, we came together as a cohesive unit. Many of us were new to our roles, and some lacked prior credit experience. Despite the absence of a transition period and the pressure of tight deadlines, everyone rose to the occasion. Team members willingly worked overtime and supported one another, with some even taking on additional tasks during peak periods. Despite the sustained heavy workload over the past year, one team member shared that he continues to enjoy his job and has declined several external opportunities, appreciating the unique working environment at the Bank.
Do the Right Thing
This core value underpins all our actions at Standard Chartered. I feel empowered to voice my concerns and raise issues. We are trained to adhere to policies and procedures and to consider the consequences before taking actions. We are not afraid to challenge any wrongdoing, aiming to positively influence the Bank’s culture and enhance our service to clients.
When we are passionate about our work and enjoy what we do, time seems to fly by.
I think when we have a good time and feel passionate about what we do, time just flies by
