Alison Higgins
Head of Markets, UK & Europe, and Head of Prime Services
Appointment
Alison Higgins is Head of Markets, UK & Europe, and Head of Prime Services at Standard Chartered.
Based in London, Alison is responsible for delivering the Markets business growth strategy in the UK and Europe. In her role as Head of Prime Services, Alison leads our brokerage and clearing suite of solutions, globally.
Alison is a member of the Europe Management Team and Global Executive Sponsor and Co-Head of the Pride network.
Career
Prior to joining Standard Chartered in June 2023, Alison was the Global Head of FX and Rates Trading at First Abu Dhabi Bank in the UAE. She has over 20 years of experience in trading and treasury functions that has taken her to Singapore, New York, Abu Dhabi and most recently back to London.
Alison holds a BA in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham.
External appointments
Alison is Co-Chair of the FMSB Conduct and Ethics Committee, a member of the UK Finance Capital Markets & Wholesale Board, and on 1 August 2025, Alison was appointed to Standard Chartered Bank AG’s (SCB AG) Supervisory Board.
