Ben Daly

Appointed

Ben Daly was appointed Global Head, Transition Finance at Standard Chartered in 2022. He leads the bank’s global strategy to mobilise capital to support decarbonisation and the energy transition. He support clients in hard-to-abate sectors, raise capital for low-carbon technologies globally.

Since joining Standard Chartered in 2014, Ben has played a central role in establishing and expanding the bank’s transition finance agenda. He spearheaded the development of the Transition Finance Framework. He works across the carbon capture, electrification, green metals and battery value chains specalising in M&A and non-recourse debt facilities.

Ben is based in London and works closely with clients, industry bodies and policy stakeholders to advance the global transition-finance ecosystem.

Career

Ben brings more than 17 years of experience across investment banking and corporate law. He began his career as a corporate lawyer. He later transitioned into investment banking, working initially with natural resource clients, before focusing on the energy transition.

Ben is also actively involved in industry discussions on climate-aligned finance, hard-to-abate sector pathways and standards for credible transition financing.
