Caroline Eber-Ittel

CEO, France and Head of Client Coverage, Europe

Appointment

Caroline is the CEO of France and, since 2024, additionally the Head of Client Coverage for Europe. She joined Standard Chartered in August 2013 and became a board member of Standard Chartered Bank AG in April 2021. Based in Paris, she leads the Client Coverage strategy across Europe.

Career

Before joining Standard Chartered, Caroline spent over 20 years at Deutsche Bank, holding various roles in credit risk management, corporate finance, and client coverage.

In her current role, she is responsible for expanding Standard Chartered’s European business, focusing on strengthening relationships with key corporate and financial institutional clients across the region and driving business development.

She leads a team of senior bankers in the United Kingdom, Turkey, and the European Union, with the goal of enhancing Standard Chartered’s position in the European market and developing long-term strategic partnerships while connecting our clients with the most dynamic markets where we operate.

Caroline and her team are integral to expanding Standard Chartered’s presence in Europe while also supporting the Bank’s growth in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. By fostering a strategic dialogue with European clients, they have successfully driven landmark advisory and financing transactions including Acquisition Finance, Project Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Cash management, Trade finance and Supply Chain finance, many of which comprising complex structured market transactions.

Passionate about Diversity and Inclusion (D&I), Caroline co-chairs Standard Chartered’s Europe D&I Council and is the Sponsor of the Bank’s Gender employee network. Caroline holds a Masters in Actuarial Science (Magistère en Actuariat) from the Université Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, France.
