Farisa Zarin

Global head of Group Public and Regulatory Affairs

Farisa Zarin is the global head of Group Public and Regulatory Affairs at Standard Chartered.  In that capacity, she is responsible for the strategic engagement and positioning on public policy and regulatory policy issues for the Bank.  Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Farisa spent 20 years at Moody’s, serving as the Chief Government and Public Affairs Officer reporting to the CEO.  She also oversaw Moody’s Corporate Social Responsibility program.  Farisa has also worked as an attorney at the following organizations: the United Nations Office of the Prosecutor, International War Crimes Courts; the United States Senate Judiciary Committee; and the American Bar Association’s Central and Eastern European Law Initiative.

Farisa attended Oberlin College where she earned a B.A. in Economics and Psychology; University of Wisconsin where she earned a J.D. and was placed on the Dean’s List; and the Instituto Universitario Europeo where she earned an LL.M. in comparative law. She is a recipient of a MacArthur Foundation Scholarship, was the 1997 Fulbright Committee’s nominee for the OSCE Fellowship, and the United States candidate for the NATO Fellowship.
