Jonathan Liang
Chief Investment Officer – Fixed Income & FX
Jonathan Liang is the Bank’s Chief Investment Officer, Fixed Income and FX. He is a member of the Global Investment Committee and leads a team of fixed income and FX investment strategists to develop CIO office’s views about debt and currency markets across the Affluent segment globally.
Jonathan brings over 25 years of experience in the investment industry. He joined the Bank from JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM), where he was a Managing Director and functioned as the Head of the Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities Group’s Investment Specialists in Asia Pacific ex-Japan. Jonathan and his team advised institutions, private banks, fintech platforms and ultra high net worth family offices across the region on JPMAM’s fixed income and FX investment strategies and views. Prior to that, Jonathan was a Managing Director and Senior Investment Strategist at asset manager AllianceBernstein LP in New York and Hong Kong. He has also worked in investment strategist roles in other asset managers including Allianz Global Investors, Jennison Associates, and Value Partners. He has regularly appeared in media outlets like Bloomberg TV, CNBC, and has been a speaker at many investment conferences.
Jonathan is from Hong Kong, studied in the US and worked in New York for over a decade before relocating back to Asia. He is a graduate of Boston University and is a CFA Charterholder.
