Karen Ng

Karen has more than 25 years of experience in corporate and investment banking with Standard Chartered across Greater China. In her current role as Global Head RMBI Engagement, Karen leads the global franchise strategy and Centre of Excellence for RMB internationalisation, with a core focus on commercialising the opportunities arising from the continued opening of China’s capital and financial markets, market advocacy and regulatory engagements. Since 2021, Karen has been spearheading the Bank’s franchise strategy for RMB business development, including setting up of internal infrastructures to support the increased demands for RMB offerings in the network and cross-border adoption. Karen is awarded RMB Banker of the Year by The Asset AAA Industry Achievement Awards (2026).

Over the course of her career, Karen held several broad ranges of frontline and leadership roles across client coverage, strategic planning, loan syndications, debt capital markets in both China mainland and in Hong Kong. Karen served as Regional Head of Business Management for Client Coverage in Greater China and North Asia, leading a team responsible for business enablement, performance management and governance prior to her transition into RMB business development and engagement.
