Michael Spiegel

Michael Spiegel is the Global Head of Transaction Banking at Standard Chartered and a member of the Corporate and Investment Banking Management Team. He is responsible for the strategic positioning of the business, and delivery of solutions across Payments & Liquidity Management, transactional FX and Trade & Working Capital Financing to corporate and institutional clients. He is also a Member of the Supervisory Board of the Bank’s European Hub in Frankfurt, Standard Chartered AG. Michael is an active sponsor of the Bank’s Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) agenda and the Chair of TB’s D&I Council.

Outside the Bank, Michael is a Board Member of Singapore’s Trade Data Exchange (SGTradeX), a digital infrastructure that facilitates trusted and secure sharing of data between supply chain ecosystem partners.

Michael is a veteran transaction banking and client coverage leader and was nominated as Transaction Banker of the year 2025 by the Asset Magazine. His career spans more than three decades during which he held several senior leadership positions across Europe, the United States and Asia.

Prior to joining Standard Chartered in 2020, Michael was at Deutsche Bank (DB) where he shaped the Banks’ Trade Finance and Corporate Cash Management franchises.

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in Banking. He lives in Singapore with his wife and two children.
