Sal Vitale

Head of Coverage, US and Americas

Sal Vitale is the Head of Coverage, U.S. & Americas, at Standard Chartered Bank. He is responsible for the Corporate and Financial Institutions client segments and focused on building upon Standard Chartered’s unique international footprint to strategically grow its business across multiple trade corridors. Sal is a member of the Americas Management Team and various governance committees. He joined the Bank in January 2025 and is based in New York.

Sal’s career spans close to 25 years across the Corporate and Investment Banking space. He is recognized as a seasoned and trusted advisor who creates value for clients and drives revenue for the Bank by building high-performing diverse teams, growing client relationships, and strategically enhancing the global network to drive results.

Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Sal spent 8 years at Deutsche Bank, culminating in his role as Head of U.S. Corporate Coverage in the Corporate Bank, where he oversaw the division from a strategic, business, and organizational standpoint. In this role, Sal was instrumental in the transformation of the U.S. Coverage team and in growing the U.S. multi-national clients’ business across the network while re-establishing the Global Subsidiary business in the U.S. Before that, he led the Industrials and Natural Resources coverage teams. Sal also sat on the U.S. Corporate Bank Executive Committee (ExCo), the Global Coverage Council and other governance committees.

Prior to his tenure at Deutsche Bank, Sal was a Managing Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he spent 16 years across Corporate Banking, Investment Banking and Debt Capital Markets, and was responsible for deepening senior relationships with Power & Utility clients.

Sal graduated with Honors with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and a minor in Political Science from Arizona State University. His professional credentials include the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and the completion of the Executive Development Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He resides in Garden City, New York with his wife and two sons.
