Experience

Tanate has over 35 years of experience in the banking sector with deep expertise in financial strategy, financial oversight, regulatory engagement and capital management developed through successive Chief Financial Officer roles and as a board member of a global systemically important bank.

Career

Tanate brings extensive international banking and leadership experience, having held several senior finance roles across Europe and globally.

Tanate held various roles at Finance One Limited from 1991 to 1998, including Assistant Managing Director, before joining ING in 1998 as Managing Director of ING Barings Securities Thailand. Tanate joined TMB Bank in 2003 as Head of Wholesale Banking and became Chief Financial Officer in Thailand in 2006 until 2008.

From 2008 to 2019, he held Chief Financial Officer positions at ING’s Operations and IT unit, ING Retail Banking International and ING Belgium. Tanate went on to serve as Chief Financial Officer of ING Group and a member of the Executive Board and Management Board Banking from February 2019 to April 2026. During this role he was responsible for the Group’s financial strategy, including capital management, budgeting, cost control and funding.
