Management Team Update

London – Standard Chartered has announced some changes within its Group Management Team.

In May this year, Tanuj Kapilashrami was appointed Group Chief Operating Officer (GCOO), strengthening our ability to drive strategic alignment across our functions.

From 1 October, in addition to the functions previously within Strategy & Talent, Tanuj will also lead our non-client-facing operations, including payments and transaction processing, trade operations, and reconciliation services, as well as Group Resilience, and Global Business Services.

This change brings together people and processes, with greater alignment between transformation oversight and execution. With Global Business Services at the centre, and with continued investment in future ready skills, we can translate strategy into action more quickly, improve productivity and focus on the capabilities that set us apart.

Noelle Eder will continue to lead our technology teams as Group Head, Technology. As the external landscape continues to advance and technology becomes an even greater source of competitive advantage, this evolution enables greater focus and capacity for Noelle and the Technology team to further accelerate our technology agenda in support of our businesses, strengthening our core, driving specialisation at scale and enabling innovation.

Both Tanuj and Noelle will work closely together and collaborate with the businesses and other functions to accelerate change and deliver benefits more quickly as we continue to evolve how we lead, operate and transform the Bank.
