Standard Chartered appoints Tom Willett as new Global Head of M&A

Standard Chartered has appointed Tom Willett as the Bank’s Global Head of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A). This appointment is effective 1 June 2014. Tom takes over from Andrew Suckling who will be taking a 12 month sabbatical.

Tom joined Standard Chartered in 2012 as the Bank’s Head of M&A for Europe.  Prior to joining the Bank, Tom held a number of senior positions including Chairman of Corporate Finance Europe, Middle East and Africa and Global Head of M&A at RBS.  Tom has a strong reputation in the market as a leading M&A banker. He has an excellent track record of successful origination and execution of M&A deals across various sectors and geographies. Since joining Standard Chartered, Tom has been a key member of the M&A management team. His leadership has been instrumental in helping the Bank not just to provide our clients with first-class solutions but also in accelerating the development of the Bank’s advisory franchise across its markets. Tom will report to James Courtenay, Global Head of Advisory and Infrastructure Finance at Standard Chartered.

David Harvey-Evers will take over from Tom and assume the role of Head of M&A, Europe.  David is a highly experienced execution banker with more than 15 years in the industry with JP Morgan and its predecessor entities JP Morgan Cazenove and Cazenove.
