Standard Chartered Global Private Bank expands flagship Global Families Network Forum with Next Gen Programme
90 UHNW families from over 30 markets gathered for 2-day event in the UAE

Singapore / Dubai – Standard Chartered Global Private Bank (“Standard Chartered” or “the Bank”) welcomed over 200 international clients and guests to the second edition of its flagship Global Families Network Forum in the UAE. This year’s event brought together 90 global ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) families from across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Themed “Shifting Paradigms”, this second edition of the Bank’s flagship event for UHNW families takes place during a time of global uncertainty, and is aimed at supporting families with deep insights and thoughtful discussions on the issues facing their family wealth and businesses. The Global Families Network Forum provides an exclusive, closed-door platform for like-minded UHNW families to network, share their experiences and gain perspectives to guide their intergenerational wealth journeys.
New to this year’s Forum is the specially curated Next Generation Programme, where participants got first-hand insights from leading Next Generation leaders and innovators and participated in a ventures workshop.
The mainstay of the two-day Forum were a welcome dinner (29 October) and a full-day conference (30 October). Attendees heard from an illustrious line-up of speakers of 15 nationalities, including Former Secretary of State for the United States, John Kerry, who spoke alongside Bill Winters, Standard Chartered’s Group Chief Executive, in a fireside chat on “Building resilience amid volatility”. His Excellency, Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Cabinet Member & Minister of Economy and Tourism, and His Excellency Arif Amiri, Chief Executive Officer, DIFC Authority, delivered keynote addresses at the main conference and welcome dinner, respectively.
Other distinguished guest speakers over the two days include His Excellency Hadi Badri, CEO, Dubai Economic Development Corporation (DEDC); Dr Mary Ann Tsao, Chairwoman, Tsao Foundation, Singapore; Sabrina Fung, Group Managing Director, Fung Retailing Group; Muna Al Gurg, Vice Chairperson and Director of Retail, Al Gurg Group Founder, Meem Foundation; Shravin Mittal, Founder and CEO, Unbound; and Mohammed Abdullah Al Garafi, Founder and President, Syndicate Holding Group.
The UAE is a natural second stop for Standard Chartered Global Private Bank’s Global Families Network Forum, following the inaugural event in Hong Kong last year. As one of the world’s leading financial centres, the UAE’s stable and open economy, progressive regulations, diverse and cosmopolitan population, and strategic connectivity across Asia, Africa and Europe makes it an ideal meeting point for global families and businesses.
As one of the four international wealth hubs in our global network along with Singapore, Hong Kong and Jersey, the UAE plays a crucial role in how the Bank serves its clients. It connects UHNW families to global business and investment opportunities, while helping to manage and grow cross-border wealth and shape legacy plans.
Raymond Ang, Global Head, Private Bank and Affluent Clients, and Head, Wealth and Retail Banking, Greater China and North Asia, Standard Chartered, said: “Managing family wealth is becoming increasingly complex amidst today’s shifting paradigms. Our flagship Global Families Network Forum provides ultra-high-net-worth families with a trusted space to connect, share and learn, while our team of experts stand ready to support them in building resilient legacies that last for generations.”
In conjunction with the Forum, the Bank this week also launched its research findings based on over 300 UHNW families and their family office professionals. “The Great Repositioning” provides insights to help families safeguard their wealth amidst the rapidly changing landscape.
