Standard Chartered makes new appointment in continued commitment to sustainability
Roger Charles joins Corporate & Investment Banking business
Singapore – Standard Chartered is pleased to announce that Roger Charles has joined the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) team as Head of Sustainability Initiatives, Coverage.
An environmental, social and climate risk specialist, Roger brings with him over 25 years of experience in technical and senior sustainability roles across the oil and gas and financial services sectors. He joins Standard Chartered from DBS Bank, where he was responsible for shaping sustainable and transition finance as well as its net zero vision across the region. Prior to DBS, he has worked for consulting firm DuPont Sustainable Solutions and independent energy company Tullow Oil.
Based in Singapore, Roger reports to Stella Choe, Global Head of Corporate Coverage. In his new role, he will support CIB’s coverage and product partners and work closely with the Group Sustainability team in helping clients achieve their sustainability goals as the Bank pursues its sustainability agenda. Standard Chartered is targeting at least $1 billion in annual sustainable finance income by 2025 and plans to mobilise $300 billion in green and transition finance by 2030.
