14 Jun 2015

Standard Chartered Bank has been awarded “Best Flow House” and “Best Risk Advisor” in the Middle East in Euromoney’s Awards for Excellence 2015.

The accolades were presented at Euromoney’s Middle East awards ceremony hosted earlier this month at the Shangri-la Hotel, Dubai. Sami Mahfouz, Head of Financial Markets, UAE and Ehsan Ahmed, Head of Foreign Exchange, Rates and Credit Trading for the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan (MENAP) region, attended the event along with other senior representatives from the Bank.

Commenting on the Bank’s recognition, Morad Mahlouji, Standard Chartered Bank’s Head of Financial Markets for the MENAP region said: “We are delighted to be presented with these two important awards from such a prestigious publication. Not only are these a testament to our regional expertise, but they also recognise the strength of our on-the-ground presence and ability to offer customised solutions in financial markets and risk advisory for clients and businesses in the MENA region.

The Euromoney Awards for Excellence, now in their 24th consecutive year, continue to be the most respected awards in the financial services industry. Building on its established criteria of past years, Euromoney combines quantitative data with informed and important subjective judgements to honour those institutions that have brought the highest levels of services, innovation and expertise to their customers.

The Middle East is a strategic market for Standard Chartered Bank; its first branch was founded in 1920 in Bahrain. The Bank’s regional headquarters are located in the Dubai International Financial Centre.
