Daniel Lam

Daniel Lam is the Head of Cross-Asset Derivative Strategy at Standard Chartered Bank Wealth Solutions Global CIO Office, switching from his previous role as the Head of Equity Strategy.

Prior to joining the CIO Office, he was Desk Strategist for Standard Chartered Financial Markets’ Equities Team from June ‘12 to November ‘15. He was an “Institutional Investor” Ranked Derivatives Strategist when he was at Citigroup and Merrill Lynch. He was also a Portfolio Manager for Equity Derivatives and Convertible Bonds at Concordia Advisors, a hedge fund in Singapore. He started off his career at McKinsey in Washington DC.

He obtained his MPhil Statistical Science at the University of Cambridge, and BSc Business Mathematics and Statistics at the London School of Economics.

Daniel was the World Champion for Amateurs at Speed Chess in 2017. He obtained his Master title from the International Chess Federation at the Chess Olympiad in Baku, 2016. He represented Hong Kong China at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, in September 2023.
