10-day Claims Processing Pledge#

After you are successfully enrolled in any life insurance plan(s) underwritten by Prudential via Standard Chartered branchesΔ, you can enjoy the 10-day Claims Processing Pledge# that gives you added sense of financial security when unexpected events strike.

# The 10-day Claims Processing Pledge is only valid when all the required claims documents are received by Prudential and the claim is approved by Prudential. For details, please refer to the terms and conditions stated on the relevant promotional leaflet or contact our branch staff.

Important Notes for 10-Day Claims Processing Pledge:

  1. Date of submission refers to the date on which all the required claims documents (for details please refer to relevant claim forms) are received by the Life Claims Department of Prudential Hong Kong Limited("Prudential") at 25/F, One Exchange Square, Central, Hong Kong ("Principal Office") before 2pm. The next working day will be deemed to be the date of submission if the required claims documents are received at/after 2pm.
  2. For Hospital Reimbursement claims, the submission of original medical bills and receipts on the date of submission is required.
  3. For death claims: if only copies of document are submitted, original documents will have to be provided for verification upon collection of the cheque in settlement of the claim.
  4. The cheque from Prudential in settlement of a claim is expected to be available after 4p.m on the 10th working day after the date of submission ("expected date of availability").
  5. Please note that after a cheque becomes available, it takes time for the cheque to be delivered to the claimant by mail or by Insurance Consultants (as the case may be).
  6. The expected date of availability does not apply in cases which require further investigations or follow-up of pending requirements.
  7. The expected date of availability is based on Prudential's operation dates (Monday - Friday except public holidays).
  8. The expected date of availability may not be achievable under circumstances beyond Prudential's control. Where necessary and possible, claimants will be advised of the revised expected date of availability under such circumstances.
  9. The information is for reference only and is not applicable to claims in respect of policies sold over the telephone.

Terms and Conditions

The life assurance plans are life insurance products and are not bank deposit. They are underwritten by Prudential and distributed by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited ("Standard Chartered"). Some of these plans may have a savings element and are not an alternative to ordinary savings or time deposits. Part of the premium pays for the insurance and related costs.

If you are not happy with your policy, you have a right to cancel it within the cooling off period and obtain a refund of any premiums paid, less any withdrawals (if applicable), provided that no claim has been made under the policy. A written notice signed by you should be received directly by the Prudential’s Hong Kong Principal Office at 25th Floor, One Exchange Square, Central, Hong Kong within the cooling off period (that is, within 21 days after the delivery of the policy or issue of a notice (informing you or your representative about the availability of the policy and expiry date of the cooling off period), whichever is the earlier). After the expiration of the cooling off period, if you cancel the policy before the end of the term, the projected total cash value (if applicable) may be less than the total premium you have paid. You should check with Prudential if you have any doubt regarding your cooling off right.
