For the 9th consecutive year, Standard Chartered will again host its flagship Sovereign Investor Roundtables alongside the 2026 IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings.

This bespoke platform brings together sovereign issuer policy makers and senior portfolio managers from leading global investors, with a focus on emerging market sovereign credits. The sessions offer sovereign borrowers the opportunity to share their economic outlook, fiscal priorities, and reform agendas while engaging directly with top-tier investors.

For investors, the roundtables provide a unique platform to access global capital, exchange perspectives, and explore bilateral opportunities with policy makers and market leaders. With one-hour sessions centred on ministerial dialogues, Q&A-driven roundtable discussions, and peer-to-peer networking, participants gain valuable insights while fostering stronger connections between sovereign issuers and the international investment community.

Breakfast Conversation: Rebalancing of Power

The 2026 Breakfast Conversation will focus on the structural shifts reshaping the international order and what an increasingly multi-aligned world means for global growth, financial resilience, and cross-border connectivity.

The event will feature a fireside chat, moderated by Benjamin Hung, President International, Standard Chartered Bank, and featuring Tobias Adrian, Advisor to the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund. Mr. Adrian previously served as the IMF’s Financial Counsellor and Director of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department (2017–2026), leading the IMF’s work on capital markets, monetary and macroprudential policy, and crisis management.

Together, they will share perspectives on the evolving global economic landscape and international trade, exploring the opportunities and challenges shaping emerging markets, and examine how policymakers, multilateral institutions, and the private sector can collaborate to manage risk and preserve economic connectivity in a more transactional environment.
