Post event Key Takeaways We hope you enjoyed the webinar session with Grant Bowers, Senior Vice President & Portfolio Manager, Franklin Templeton last Saturday. Here are 3 key takeaways from the webinar for your reference.
1. Anticipate continued economic growth in the United States to be coupled with bouts of financial market volatility as investors reflect on the duration of higher inflation rates, fiscal stimulus and asset purchase tapering by the U.S. Federal Reserve. The strength of corporate earnings growth and the economy will affect the overall sentiment.

2. While the current economic backdrop appears robust, supported by healthy consumer spending and strong business balance sheets, Grant acknowledge that meaningful corrections can occur. Yet he believes any corrections provides attractive openings for investment in selective securities.

3. Continue to view the U.S. equities as an attractive place to invest. While company valuations are near the higher end of the historical range, fundamentals appear to be supportive. They believe high-quality businesses that have sustainable earnings and cash flow along with competitive positioning and pricing power should do well in the second half of the year.

Grant also shared his view on finding opportunities in companies that cater to the digital transformation of businesses including the benefits of automation in manufacturing and in agriculture (smart or precision farming). The areas of retail, health care, customer service, finance and public sector administration have also started to automate business processes, often giving a boost to productivity. In technology, Grant find the following themes compelling today including disruptive commerce, intelligent machines and exponential data.
