Based in London, Sarah leads our research on European economies, including Western and emerging Europe. She has many years of experience covering G7 and emerging-market macroeconomic, investment and country-risk issues. Based in London, she frequently appears as a commentator on TV for the BBC, Sky, CNBC and Bloomberg, and on radio for the BBC and Bloomberg. Before joining Standard Chartered, Sarah worked at American Express Bank in London, New York and Hong Kong where she was responsible for delivering economics and investment advice on Europe, the US and Asia. Previously, she worked at Lloyds Bank and the European Commission in Brussels. Sarah is a member of the CityUK’s Independent Economists Group and sits on the Secretary of State's Panel on Monitoring the Economy. She read economics at Girton College, Cambridge, specialising in international economics.
