Transition finance
Mobilising capital to support the transition
Financing low-carbon technologies and solutions.
To deliver against the goals of the Paris Agreement, all sectors of the global economy, including hard-to-abate industries, need to decarbonise.
Transition finance has a role to play in supporting the transition as part of a broad portfolio of solutions – especially across high-emitting sectors like transport, energy, and agriculture – where the need to transition to low-carbon business models is acute and capital intensive.
Standard Chartered was a first mover on transition finance, publishing our first Transition Finance Framework in 2021, and we continue to support the market to help scale transition finance. Today, we develop solutions that meet diverse financing needs for our clients and across our markets, mobilising capital to finance new technologies and low-carbon infrastructure projects that facilitate and scale growth.
We’re committed to supporting our clients on their decarbonisation journeys, leveraging our extensive global network and in-depth sector expertise.
