      As access to Google App Store is restricted in China, we have made the Standard Chartered Mobile App available to download for Android phones through Tencent MyApp.

      Technical Restrictions

      Push & Inbox Notifications

        • Users who downloaded from Tencent MyApp will not be able to to receive any Push Notifications / in-app Notifications.
        • Users who downloaded from Tencent MyApp will not be able to enable the Inbox Notifications feature.
        • Users will continue to receive banking alerts via SMS on their registered mobile device.
        • Users who try to enable this feature will see the following message displayed:

        Google Play Services is not available in your location/supported on this device. Therefore, Inbox Notifications cannot be turned on. You will continue to receive your alerts via SMS.”

      SC MOBILE KEY

        • Users who downloaded from Tencent MyApp will not be able receive a Push or in-app Notifications for authentication on Online Banking or any secondary device.
        • Users will be required to Generate an Offline PIN when accessing Online Banking or any secondary device.
        • Users who has successfully registered for SC Mobile Key will see the following message displayed:

        Google Play Services may be required for SC Mobile Key authentication. As this service is not available in your location/supported on this device, please generate an “Offline PIN” to authenticate your login/transactions on Online Banking or any secondary device.

      FAQs

      • No, you do not have to download this version of SC Mobile app from the Tencent store.

        At any one time, Client should only be using one SC Mobile app.

        If Client has downloaded SC Mobile from Google Play Store and has no issue using it, there is no action required.

      • SC Mobile Key will continue to work on the mobile device that is registered with the digital token.

        For Online Banking and any other secondary device, users are required to generate an ‘Offline PIN’ on the registered mobile device in order to authenticate any login or high risk transactions.

      • Google Play Services is required for any in-app/push notifications approval via SC Mobile. As Google Play Services may not be available in your current location/supported on this device, you are required to “Generate an Offline PIN” in order to authenticate on Online Banking or any secondary device.

      • Google Play Services is required to receive any in-app/push notifications messages via SC Mobile. As Google Play Services may not be available in your current location/supported on this device, Inbox Notifications cannot be enabled. You will continue to receive your banking alerts via SMS.
