Christmas 2018 Promotion has ended

The Christmas 2018 Promotion (“Promotion”) consisting of the Spend & Be Rewarded Promotion (“Spend & Be Rewarded Promotion”), and Snowball Challenge Promotion (“Snowball Challenge Promotion”) is available from 1 November to 31 December 2018 (both dates inclusive) (the “Promotion Period”). The Promotion is open to all eligible principal cardholders of Standard Chartered Credit Cards (“Cards”) issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“Bank”) (collectively, “Eligible Cardholders“). To participate in the Promotion, Eligible Cardholders must successfully register during the Registration Period (as defined below). For the Spend & Be Rewarded Promotion, the registration period is from 30 October to 31 December 2018 (both dates inclusive) (“Spend & Be Rewarded Registration Period”). For the Snowball Challenge Promotion, the registration period is from 30 October to 29 December 2018 (both dates inclusive) (“Snowball Challenge Registration Period” and together with the Spend & Be Rewarded Registration Period, the “Registration Period”). 2 calendar days from the time of registration is required for successful registration for the Snowball Challenge Promotion. To register for the Promotion, Eligible Cardholders must send an SMS composed in the following format: “XMAS” (Example: XMAS) to 77222 from his/her mobile number that was registered with the Bank (“Bank Registered Mobile Number”). An acknowledgement of successful Registration will be sent to Cardholder’s Bank Registered Mobile Number. Upon successful Registration, all of the Eligible Cardholder’s validly existing Cards will be registered for the Promotion (such successfully registered card(s) referred to as a “Registered Card”). and the cardholder of such Registered Card, a “Registered Cardholder”). All SMSes which are not in this prescribed format, sent to an incorrect number, or sent from a non-Bank Registered Mobile Number will not be accepted and will be considered by the Bank to be invalid and/or void, and the Bank’s determination shall be final and conclusive. Eligible Cardholders need only register once to participate in both the Spend & Be Rewarded Promotion and Snowball Challenge Promotion except that Registered Cardholders who have changed or updated their Bank Registered Mobile Number will have to re-register for the Promotion under the new number. Failure to re-register will mean that cardholder will not be eligible for the Promotion. Transactions such as, but not limited to, insurance premiums, all modes of bills payments (including payments to telecommunications and utilities providers), payment via AXS and SAM networks, payment to government agencies (including LTA, HDB, IRAS, PUB, ICA & MOM), income tax payments, EZ-Link/TransitLink top-up/reload, any transactions pertaining to Merchant Category Codes 6211 (Security Brokers/Dealers) and 7995 (Gambling/Lotto), funds transfers, cash advances, NETS purchases, ongoing instalment payments, any fee and charges, cancelled and reversed transactions and outstanding balances will not be considered as a Spend & Be Rewarded Qualifying Transaction or Snowball Challenge Qualifying Transaction for purposes of the Spend & Be Rewarded Promotion and Snowball Challenge Promotion respectively. 1 Spend and Be Rewarded Promotion: To qualify, Cardholders must during the Promotion Period, be within the first 1,000 Registered Cardholders to charge a minimum of S$15,000 on eligible retail transactions, aggregated across their Registered Cards and such transactions must be successfully posted to the Registered Card account during the Promotion Period, have transaction dates falling within the Promotion Period and cannot be reversed on or before 28 February 2019 (“Spend & Be Rewarded Qualifying Transaction”). Eligible Cardholders who successfully qualify for this Spend and Be Rewarded Promotion will be randomly allocated one of 3 gifts as described above (each a “Gift”, collectively “Gifts”). Each Cardholder is eligible for one Gift under the Spend and Be Rewarded Promotion only. Gifts are subject to their availability. Eligible Cardholders who have qualified to receive any of the Gifts will be notified either by mail or SMS to the Bank Registered Mobile Number no later than 28 February 2019. Cashback for Gift 1 and Gift 2 will be credited by 28 February 2019 to the Eligible Cardholder’s Registered Card account with the highest cumulative spend on Spend & Be Rewarded Qualifying Transactions during the Promotion Period. 2 Snowball Challenge Promotion: To qualify, Eligible Cardholders must charge S$150 or more on a single eligible retail transaction with a transaction date falling within the Promotion Period and successfully posted to the Registered Card account during the Promotion Period (“Snowball Challenge Qualifying Transaction”). The first 220,000 Snowball Challenge Qualifying Transactions (each a “Winning Transaction”) will receive an SMS containing a unique URL (“Snowball Challenge SMS”) for the chance to win up to $100 cashback (“Prizes”). There will be a total of 220,000 Prizes to be won for the duration of the Snowball Challenge Promotion. Eligible Cardholders are eligible for one unique URL sent via one Snowball Challenge SMS with every Winning Transaction made, capped at a maximum of 5 Winning Transactions per day. SMSes will be sent to the Bank Registered Mobile Number of the Eligible Cardholder of each Winning Transaction (“Winning Cardholder”) to inform him/her that the Prizes have been credited to his/her Registered Card Account and all cashback Prizes will be credited by 28 February 2019. Amounts charged to the Registered Card before Registration is completed will not be considered as Snowball Challenge Qualifying Transactions. Excluded Transactions

The following transactions charged to a Registered Card will not be considered as Qualifying Transactions:

  • Insurance premiums, including premiums for investment-linked policies, charged to the Registered Card;
  • Bill payments (Examples of bill payment merchants include but are not limited to Telecommunications and utilities providers such as Starhub, Singtel and M1, Singapore Power);
  • Any payment via AXS network;
  • Any payment via SAM network;
  • Payments to government agencies which include but not limited to Land Transport Authority, Housing Development Board, Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, Public Utilities Board, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority and the Ministry of Manpower;
  • Income tax payments;
  • EZ-Link cards transactions;
  • Transit Link transactions;
  • Any transactions pertaining to Merchant Category Codes 6211 (Security Brokers/Dealers) and 7995 (Gambling/Lotto)
  • Balance transfers to the Registered Card, cash advances from the Registered Card, purchases via NETS and ongoing instalment payments;
  • Any fees and charges (including annual fees, interest charges, cheque processing fees, administrative fees, cash advance fees, finance charges and/or late payment charges and other miscellaneous fees and charges) charged to the Registered Card;
  • Any amount charged to the Registered Card during the Promotion Period that is subsequently cancelled, voided or reversed; and
  • Balance owing on the Registered Card account from other months.
