Health Rewards Promotion Terms and Conditions

  1. The Health Rewards Promotion (“Promotion”) is available from 1 August 2019 to to 29 February 2020, both dates inclusive (the “Promotion Period”), and is jointly organized by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (the “Bank”) and Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE Singapore Branch (“Allianz”).
  2. By participating in this Promotion, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions (“Promotion T&Cs”). Please read these Promotion T&Cs in conjunction with our Current/Cheque/Savings Account and Time Deposit Terms, Bonus$aver Product Terms and Customer Terms (collectively, “Other Terms”). If there is any inconsistency between these Promotion T&Cs and the Other Terms, these Promotion T&Cs prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency. Unless otherwise defined herein, italicized terms shall bear the meaning as ascribed to them in the Other Terms.

Bonus Interest

  1. You shall be entitled to receive additional bonus interest, in addition to the prevailing interest and all other bonus interest which you may be entitled to receive pursuant to the Bonus$aver Product Terms, on the average daily balance in your Bonus$aver account with the Bank (up to an average daily balance cap of S$100,000) for each calendar month (“Additional Bonus Interest”), that you fulfill all of the following requirements:
    1. have a minimum of one (1) Bonus$aver account with the Bank, whether joint or singly held, of which you are the primary account holder;
    2. successfully apply, make payment for and be issued at least one (1) of the following insurance products underwritten by Allianz (each, an “Eligible Product”) during the Promotion Period:
      1. Allianz Accident Protect;
      2. Allianz Hospital Income Protect;
      3. Allianz International Health; and
      4. Allianz Cancer Protect,
        and which must be issued in your name as the policyholder during the Promotion Period (each Eligible Product which is successfully purchased by you during the Promotion Period shall be referred to as an “Eligible Policy”);
    3. the aggregate annualized premium(s) payable by you for:
      1. all Eligible Policy(ies); and
      2. all Eligible Product(s) issued to you as the policyholder prior to the Promotion Period,
        and for which the insurance coverage remains in force during the Promotion Period, after any promotion discount(s) but including goods and services tax (collectively, “Total Annual Premium”), is at least S$500 per year; and
    4. at least one (1) Eligible Policy issued in your name as the policyholder during the Promotion Period remains in force, and the Total Annual Premium payable by you referred to in Clause 3(c) are paid by the relevant due dates.
  1. Where you have met all the requirements set out in Clause 3 above, the amount of Additional Bonus Interest you shall be entitled to receive for each calendar month is determined by (“Eligibility Requirements“): (a) the amount of the Total Annual Premium as at the end of each calendar month; and (b) the average number of steps walked in a day per calendar month as recorded by the GOQii App to be downloaded, activated and used by you (as defined in and subject to the “Terms and conditions for the usage of the GOQii App” and Clause 6 below) (“Eligible Steps”), set out as follows:

(i) all Eligible Policy(ies); and
(ii) all Eligible Product(s) issued prior to the Promotion Period,
and for which the insurance coverage remains in force
Eligible Steps i.e. average daily steps per calendar month
S$500 – S$1,499 < 10,000 0.125% p.a.
≥ 10,000 0.250% p.a.
S$1,500 and above < 10,000 0.375% p.a.
≥ 10,000 0.750% p.a.
  1. If there are any changes to the amount of the Total Annual Premium, including due to additional Eligible Policy(ies) being purchased by you (as policyholder) and/or changes to or cancellation of subsisting Eligible Policy(ies) or Eligible Product(s), the revised amount of Total Annual Premium as at the end of the relevant calendar month will be used to determine the interest rate for Additional Bonus Interest for and from that calendar month.
  2. The Eligible Steps for a calendar month are calculated by dividing the total number of steps walked as recorded by the GOQii App in that calendar month, by the number of calendar days in which those steps were recorded to be taken, from and including the effective date of the first Eligible Policy issued during the Promotion Period (“First Eligible Policy”). For the avoidance of doubt, where the GOQii App activation is made before the effective date of the First Eligible Policy, the Eligible Steps shall be determined from the effective date of the First Eligible Policy and not the date of GOQii App activation.
  1. The Additional Bonus Interest will be applicable for each calendar month up to 31 May 2021, or 12 calendar months from the policy effective date of the First Eligible Policy, whichever is earlier.
  2. You shall only be entitled to participate once in the Promotion regardless of the number of accounts you open with the Bank or the number or value of Eligible Policy(ies) and Eligible Product(s) purchased.
  3. Please note that unless otherwise stated, this Promotion is not valid with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges or promotions. In other words, the same customer cannot receive both the reward under this Promotion, and any other gift or account credit from other sign-up promotions.

Award of Additional Bonus Interest

  1. Subject to Clause 7, the Additional Bonus Interest will be awarded by the Bank on a monthly basis and credited directly into your Bonus$aver account, being the account, whether joint or singly held, of which you are the primary account holder and which was opened first-in-time with the Bank, where applicable, by the end of the following calendar month for each calendar month where you have fulfilled the requirements set out in Clause 4 above, subject to your Bonus$aver account with the Bank being valid and in good standing (as determined by the Bank in its sole and absolute discretion at all times).
  2. If you cancel your last effective Eligible Policy at any time before its expiry date or if you cancel any Eligible Policy or Eligible Product during its free-look period, Allianz reserves the right to deduct the value of the Additional Bonus Interest or Additional Bonus Interest applicable to the said Eligible Policy or Eligible Product, as the case may be, for the relevant calendar month credited by the Bank to your Bonus$aver account from the refund premium (if any) to be paid by Allianz to you in accordance with the policy terms and conditions. Where the value of the said Additional Bonus Interest credited by the Bank to your Bonus$aver account exceeds the refund premium (if any), the Bank shall be entitled to debit the excess interest amount from your Bonus$aver account.
  3. The Bank will obtain the necessary information from Allianz to validate the Additional Bonus Interest applicable to you, however, the Bank makes no warranty or representation as to the accuracy of such information provided by Allianz, and shall not be liable for any error or discrepancy in the determination of the Additional Bonus Interest. The Bank shall also not be liable for failure or delay in the crediting of the Additional Bonus Interest to your Bonus$aver account for any reason.
  4. In the event that you cease to maintain a minimum of one (1) Bonus$aver account with the Bank prior to receiving the credit of the Additional Bonus Interest, you will be considered as disqualified from this Promotion and the Additional Bonus Interest will be forfeited.
  5. The Additional Bonus Interest is not exchangeable or redeemable for other goods or cash equivalents of other denominations. The Additional Bonus Interest is strictly non-transferable and non-assignable, whether in full or in part.

Terms and Conditions for the usage of the GOQii App

  1. The Eligible Steps shall be recorded by a health mobile application (“GOQii App”) provided by GOQii Technologies Private Limited (“GOQii”) to Allianz, which basic features are offered to you by Allianz on a complimentary basis as part of this Promotion. You shall be required to download, activate and use the GOQii App to fulfil the Eligible Steps requirement as set out in Clause 4.
  2. Instructions on the download and activation of the GOQii App will be provided in the Health Rewards Welcome Kit of each Eligible Product. The steps tracking data logged by the GOQii App as at the end of each calendar month will be extracted by GOQii by the 7th day of the next calendar month (“Cut-off Date”) to determine the Eligible Steps. The Bank and Allianz are not responsible for loss of such data due to:
    1. your failure to follow the instructions in the Health Rewards Welcome Kit to activate the GOQii App and your failure to use the GOQii App properly in accordance with its terms and conditions; or
    2. any failure in data synchronization or disconnection between the GOQii App and any fitness tracking device and its app used.
  3. Upon your activation of the GOQii App, the application will only start tracking and recording the steps taken from the next day onwards. To ensure accuracy of the steps tracking data recorded by the GOQii App, you are advised to synchronize the data with your fitness tracking device manually before each Cut Off Date.
  1. The use of the GOQii App and related services is subject to GOQii’s terms and conditions. Any questions, complaints or grievances with respect to GOQii App and services should be directed to GOQii only.
  1. GOQii App users should consult with their physician before making any changes to their diet or exercise program, including making any changes suggested through the GOQii App.

General

  1. For the purpose of the Promotion, “valid and in good standing” means, in relation to the Bonus$aver account under this Promotion:
    1. the account must not be suspended, cancelled, terminated or closed for any reason;
    2. the account is not delinquent or unsatisfactorily conducted for any reason; and
    3. you have not breached any term of the banking agreement between you and the Bank.
  2. For the avoidance of doubt, this Promotion is not a requirement to enjoy the benefits of insurance coverage underwritten by Allianz and distributed by the Bank. For full terms and conditions, and risk disclosures of the relevant insurance products, please refer to relevant policy document and read carefully.
  3. All insurance products described in this document are products underwritten by Allianz and not the Bank. The Bank shall not be liable in any manner whatsoever regarding your application or the contract of insurance. Guaranteed elements (if any) are obligations of Allianz only. All insurance products are not deposits with, obligations of, or guaranteed by the Bank.
  4. The Bank and Allianz reserve the right to decline to award the Additional Bonus Interest, recover or debit the Additional Bonus Interest from your account(s) with the Bank, or cancel crediting of the Additional Bonus Interest (without notice to you) under this Promotion, in the event that the Bank and Allianz determine that: (a) your relevant insurance policy(ies) with Allianz have been cancelled or terminated or where any terms and conditions set out in these policy(ies) was not complied with, (b) any of the eligibility requirements set out above was not or has not been complied with but the Additional Bonus Interest has been credited into your account, (c) your Bonus$aver account is not valid and in good standing at the time of crediting of the Additional Bonus Interest, or (d) any of the requirements or the terms of the banking agreement between you and the Bank had not been complied with, including but not limited to the following:
    1. where you have acted fraudulently or dishonestly;
    2. where you have conducted yourself in bad faith or otherwise in an inappropriate manner to gain an unfair advantage against the Bank;
    3. upon the occurrence of any event giving rise to a right for the Bank to suspend or terminate any (or all) of the banking agreement between you and the Bank for a product, as set out at Clause 29.3 and Clause 33 of the Bank’s Customer Terms and elsewhere in the banking agreement between you and the Bank.

You further agree that, under any of the circumstances stated above, the Bank and Allianz are not obliged to substitute the Additional Bonus Interest with a gift or account credit of lower value.

  1. Except for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Bank or Allianz, the Bank and Allianz shall not be responsible for, and you hereby agree to release and hold the Bank and Allianz harmless for, any expenses, loss (whether foreseeable or not), claim or damage suffered or incurred (whether in common law or equity) arising from or in connection with, directly or indirectly, this Promotion, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  2. The Bank and Allianz reserve the right to determine at each of their sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with the Promotion, including without limitation, your eligibility for the Additional Bonus Interest and/or the Promotion and/or the amount of Additional Bonus Interest that you are entitled to receive, and to verify your transaction records in determining your eligibility for the Additional Bonus Interest. The Bank’s and Allianz’s determination of all matters relating to this Promotion shall be final and conclusive and no correspondence will be entertained.
  3. The Bank and Allianz may at each of their sole and absolute discretion and with or without prior notice or reason: (a) vary, modify, add or delete any of these Promotion T&Cs; (b) terminate, withdraw, extend, suspend or shorten the Promotion; or (c) replace the Additional Bonus Interest with another item of similar or equivalent value. You understand and agree to be bound by any such variation.
  4. In the event of any inconsistency between these Promotion T&Cs and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, these Promotion T&Cs shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency.
  5. The Bank and Allianz makes no warranty or representation as to the quality, merchantability or fitness for the services provided by any merchant or service provider, including by GOQii in relation to the GOQii App. The Bank and Allianz also accept no liability for the goods and services provided by any merchant or service provider, including in relation to the contents and data of, and conduct by the employees, officers, agents or representatives of, GOQii and/or in connection with the GOQii App. Any dispute about the same must be resolved directly with the merchant or service provider. In case of any disputes, the decision of the Bank, Allianz and/or the respective merchant(s) or service provider(s) shall be final and conclusive. The Bank and Allianz are each not an agent of any merchant or service provider or vice versa.
  6. A person who is not a party to these Terms and Conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap.53B) to enforce any of these Promotion T&Cs.
  7. These Promotion T&Cs are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.

These Policies are protected under the Policy Owners’ Protection Scheme which is administered by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation (SDIC). Coverage for your Policy is automatic and no further action is required from you. Deposit Insurance Scheme

Singapore dollar deposits of non-bank depositors are insured by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation, for up to S$75,000 in aggregate per depositor per Scheme member by law. Foreign currency deposits, dual currency investments, structured deposits and other investment products are not insured.
