Before you Apply

  • The available Instalment Credit/Credit Cash amount indicates the amount of Instalment Credit /Credit Cash available and such amount is derived with reference to, where applicable, the available credit limit plus the amount eligible for Credit Limit Increase of the designated credit card (“Designated Credit Card(s)”). The approval of the Instalment Credit /Credit Cash Amount is subject to the current status of the credit card account during the period when such application is being considered by the Bank. The Bank has the sole discretion to determine the Instalment Credit Amount to be approved, reject the application and/or increase the credit limit.
  • No. According to the policy adopted by the Bank, the approved Instalment Credit/ Credit Cash Amount cannot be used for the repayment of the credit card outstanding balance of any of the Standard Chartered Credit Card or MANHATTAN Credit Card. If the Instalment Credit Amount/ Credit Cash is used to repay the card outstanding balance, the Bank reserves the right to terminate the promotional offer and the Instalment Credit / Credit Cash Amount would be treated as Cash advance.
  • After the 7 calendar days from the first instalment posted, no alteration of the Instalment Credit/Credit Cash arrangement or cancellation of the application will be accepted. If you choose to repay early at any time during the Instalment Period or the designated Credit Card Account participating in the Program is cancelled due to whatever reason, all remaining Instalment Credit/ Credit Cash Amount and monthly handling fee of the remaining period must be repaid immediately. In addition, an administration fee equivalent to 1% of the Instalment Credit/ Credit Cash Amount or HKD300, whichever is higher, will be debited from the Instalment Credit account. For example, assuming the Instalment Credit/Credit Cash Amount is HKD10,000 and is granted to you with 0.25% monthly handling fee and a 48-month instalment period. If you repay the Instalment Credit/Credit Cash Amount outstanding after the 30th month, you shall be liable to pay the Instalment Credit/Credit Cash Amount outstanding HKD4,017.15 and monthly handling fee for the remaining period HKD182.95 (You could refer to the monthly repayment table in the Confirmation Letter for details), plus an administration fee of HKD10,000 x 1% = HKD100, or HKD300 whichever is higher = HKD300. The above example is for indication purposes only.
  • The Instalment Credit program converts your un-used credit card limit into cash. Client can enjoy the financial flexibility to fulfill your daily needs by making use of any of the credit limit. The credit limit of your Credit Card will be restored with reference to the monthly repayment made.
  • The monthly repayment amount (including the principal amount and the handling fee across the tenor) will be printed on the confirmation letter. The apportionment of principal and handling fee is calculated based on the Straight Line Method, please refer to the monthly repayment table in the Confirmation Letter for details. The instalment amount for each month will be shown on your credit card statement accordingly.
    1. Within 7 calendar days immediately following the post date of the first instalment amount of the Instalment Credit Program (the “7-day Cooling-off Period”), the Cardholder may submit an early settlement request to the Bank through our Hotline at 2886 4111. Upon approval by the Bank, monthly handling fee of the remaining instalment periods of the Instalment Credit Program, administration fee equivalent to 1% of the Instalment Credit/Credit Cash amount or HKD300 (whichever is higher), and any application fee (collectively, the “Early Settlement Fees”) will be waived. However, the monthly handling fee* may still be levied on the Instalment Credit Program during the 7-day Cooling-off Period on a pro-rata basis. Final approval is subject to the Bank’s discretion.
    2. To early settle all outstanding Instalment Credit/Credit Cash amount during the 7-day Cooling-off Period and enjoy waiver of the Early Settlement Fees, the Cardholder shall repay all outstanding Instalment Credit/Credit Cash amount and any monthly handling fees incurred in full to the Bank within 7 calendar days from the post date of the first instalment amount.
    3. The Cardholder who has early settled all outstanding Instalment Credit/Credit Cash amount during the 7-day Cooling-off Period will no longer be entitled to any promotional offer in relation to the Instalment Credit Program.
    4. Each Cardholder may early settle all outstanding Instalment Credit/Credit Cash amount during the 7-day Cooling-off Period and enjoy waiver of the Early Settlement Fees ONCE ONLY in each quarter.
    * The applicable monthly handling fee is a fee being charged by the Bank for servicing the loan, and is not a fee being charged for early loan repayment or redemption.

An APR is a reference rate which includes the basic loan interest rate and other applicable fees and charges of a product expressed as an annualised rate. This APR does not include CashBack.The Bank reserves the right to determine the applicable monthly handling fee, and to approve such application, which is to be considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the client’s credit records and other relevant factors as the Bank may consider in its absolute discretion.   3. Subject to the current status of the credit card account during the period when such application is being considered by the Bank. For loan disbursement, it also subject to the handling of the receiving bank.
