Important Notice – ATM card to be replaced with Debit Card

With effect from 3 December 2023, please note that all new card issuances, including replacements of your lost and expiring ATM cards will be replaced with Mastercard Debit card. This is in line with Mastercard’s announcement to retire its Maestro-branded cards and transit to Debit Mastercard.

Please rest assured that you will still be able to perform the same functions as what your ATM cards can with the new Debit Mastercard, but with even greater benefits, convenience, and flexibility listed below:

  • Enjoy global recognition and transactional convenience with cash withdrawals and transfers at over 1 million ATMs,
  • Make point-of-sale payments at over 30 million establishments worldwide,
  • Access to wide range of The Good Life® deals island wide.
  • 1% cashback on Debit Card spend (Capped at S$60 per month)

If you are holding onto an existing ATM card, you can continue to use your card before it expires or till further notice.

For existing cardholders Card replacement

If you need to replace your lost/stolen or damage card, we will issue you a Mastercard Debit card as a replacement card

Expiring cards due for renewal

If your card is reaching the card expiry date and is due for renewal, the bank may replace your card with a Debit Mastercard. The bank will progressive reach out to you prior to your card expiry.

For new card request A new Mastercard Debit card will be issued for your eligible account

Note: Min age of 16-year-old applies for you to be eligible for a new Debit Card.

For security reasons, all new Debit Cards sent to you will not be usable until they are activated. You will need to activate your card and set your PIN to use your card according to the instructions on the card mailer. The default spending limit on your debit card is S$2,000 for point-of-sale MasterCard and NETs transactions. If you wish to lower your daily spend limit, you may do so easily via SC Mobile or contact the Bank for assistance.

FAQs

  1. I do not want to be issued with a Debit Card. Can you issue me with a new ATM Card?

In line with industry practice, we will no longer issue new ATM card. Please rest assured that you will still be able to perform the same functions as what your ATM cards can with the new Debit Card, but with even greater benefits, convenience, and flexibility.

If you still prefer to opt out of the new Debit Card, kindly inform the Bank at least 3 months before your card expiry date. However, please note that we will not be able to issue any new ATM card. To withdraw cash, you may visit our branch for assistance.

  1. Can I set the limit on new Debit Card transactions?

There is no change to the cash withdrawal limit as per the existing ATM card. The default cash withdrawal limit is set as S$4,000.

Default spending limit on your debit card is S$2,000 for point-of-sale MasterCard and NETs transactions. You can lower your daily spend limit to S$200 easily via our SC Mobile or contact the bank for assistance.

To set your Debit Card daily limit on SC Mobile, please log on to SC Mobile > go to Services > go to “View All” under “Digital Services” > select “Card Management” > select “ Change daily limit for Debit/ATM/Credit Card.
