Important Notice: Changing of Authorisation Limits to S$5,000

Dear Clients,

As part of our enhanced anti-scam measures, please note that the Bank will be defaulting the authorisation limit for new clients and clients with existing authorisation limits more than S$5,000 to S$5,000 with effect from 20 July 2025. This will not apply to clients who have personalised authorisation limits below S$5,000.

To proceed with transactions equal or above the authorisation limit, you will need to key in your SC Mobile Key. The authorisation limit applies to the following transaction types:

  • 3rd Party SCB Funds Transfer/eNETS
  • Interbank Funds Transfer/FAST
  • Bill Payment
  • International Funds Transfer
  • Pay other bank’s credit card
  • PayNow

FAQs

Will this change impact my daily transfer limit?

No, the authorisation limit is independent of the maximum daily limit, which puts a restriction on the amount that users can transact. Authorisation limit is an enhanced security feature which requires users to enter their SC Mobile key to proceed for any transaction equal or above S$5,000. It is set at S$5,000 by default for all transaction types, including bill payments, for higher security and simplicity.

Can I adjust my authorisation limits?

Authorisation limits will not be adjustable. To safeguard our clients against fraudulent transfers, we have set authorisation limits at S$5,000 by default for all transaction types. However, the default value will not apply to clients who have personalised authorisation limits below S$5,000.

Is the authorisation limit same as the maximum daily limit?

No, the authorisation limit is an enhanced security feature which requires users to enter their SC Mobile key to proceed for any transaction equal or above S$5,000. It is independent of the daily transfer limit, which puts a restriction on the amount that users can transact.

As part out our enhanced anti-scam measures, the Bank will set the default authorisation limit to S$5,000 for new clients and for existing clients with authorisation limits exceeding S$5,000. This change will not apply to clients who have already personalised their authorisation limits to below S$5,000.
