Bonus$aver Google Pay Lucky Draw 2020 Promotion Terms and Conditions

  1. The Bonus$aver Google Pay Lucky Draw 2020 Promotion (“Promotion“) is available from 11 December 2020 to 28 February 2021 (both dates inclusive) (“Promotion Period“) and is organised by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“Bank” or “Standard Chartered” or “we”). The Promotion is open to all new and existing clients of the Bank. By participating in the Promotion, Participants (as defined below) agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  2. Unless otherwise stated, the Promotion is not valid with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges or promotions.

Eligibility and Participation

  1. To be eligible for and to participate in the Promotion:
    1. you must be at least 18 years of age at the time of applying for a Bonus$aver Account (as defined below);
    2. you must not have had a previous Bonus$aver account suspended, cancelled or terminated in the past 12 months. This Promotion is only applicable to new applications for Bonus$aver;
    3. you must during the Promotion Period successfully apply and receive approval for a Bonus$aver current/cheque account as a main account holder with the Bank (such account to be referred to as “Bonus$aver Account”);
    4. you must place a minimum amount of S$50,000 fresh funds into your Bonus$aver Account and maintain this minimum amount for at least 2 months from the date of account opening. “Fresh funds” means funds that do not originate from any existing account with the Bank and funds that are not withdrawn and re-deposited with the Bank within the last 30 days of opening of your Bonus$aver Account;
    5. your Bonus$aver Account must be validly existing (i.e. must not be suspended, cancelled or terminated), in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner at all times, as determined by the Bank in its sole and absolute discretion; and
    6. you must during the Promotion Period successfully sign up for a Google Pay account and link your Bonus$aver Account to Google Pay (such linked Bonus$aver Account to be referred to as the “Linked Bonus$aver Account”) for the purposes of making payments from the Linked Bonus$aver Account.

A person who satisfies all of the above criteria in this Clause 3 shall be referred to as a “Participant”.

Lucky Draw Mechanics

  1. For the purposes of the Promotion, there will be one (1) lucky draw (“Lucky Draw”) held at the end of the campaign period.
  2. Subject to Clause 8 below, to receive chance(s) to win a Prize (as defined below) in the Lucky Draw, Participants must, during the Promotion Period successfully perform the following activities (each, a “Qualifying Activity”):
    1. open a Bonus$aver Account and place a minimum of S$50,000 fresh funds into the Bonus$aver Account and maintain this minimum amount for at least 2 months from the date of account opening; and
    2. carry out a Google Pay transaction of at least S$10 with their Linked Bonus$aver Account as a payer.

For the avoidance of doubt, a Participant will only receive chance(s) to win a Prize for the Qualifying Activity in each of Clause 5(a) and Clause 5(b) above, if the Participant completes the Qualifying Activities in both Clause 5(a) and Clause 5(b) during the Promotion Period. This means that if a Participant only completes the Qualifying Activity in Clause 5(a) but does not complete the Qualifying Activity in Clause 5(b) during the Promotion Period, such Participant will not receive any chance to win a Prize in the Lucky Draw despite having completed the Qualifying Activity in Clause 5(a), and vice versa.

  1. To participate in the Lucky Draw, each Participant must carry out a Qualifying Activity during the Promotion Period for the Lucky Draw. Subject to Clause 5 above, the number of chances awarded for a Qualifying Activity and for the purposes of the Lucky Draw is as set out below:

Clause 5(b)

For every successful Google Pay transaction of at least S$10 carried out by you as a payer using your Linked Bonus$aver Account

As an illustration, if a Participant carries out a total of 3 Google Pay transactions of at least S$10 each using his Linked Bonus$aver Account, he will receive a total of 3 chances under this category (assuming he meets all other relevant conditions).

You will only receive 1 chance for this Qualifying Activity if you also complete the Qualifying Activity in Clause 5(a) during the Promotion Period.

 

As an illustration:

Participant opens a Bonus$aver Account on 1 February 2021, deposits S$50,000 fresh funds in that account and makes a S$10 Google Pay transaction in February using the Linked Bonus$aver Account as a payer. He maintains S$50,000 until 31 March 2021.

 

This Participant will receive 2 chances for the Lucky Draw.

. 1 chance for opening a Bonus$aver Account and depositing and maintaining S$50,000 until 31 March 2021

. 1 chance for making a $10 Google Pay Transaction

Participant opens a Bonus$aver Account on 1 January 2021, deposits S$50,000 fresh funds in that account and makes 2 S$10 Google Pay transactions during the Promotion Period using the Linked Bonus$aver Account as a payer. He maintains S$50,000 until 28 February 2021.

 

This Participant will receive 3 chances for the Lucky Draw.

. 1 chance for opening a Bonus$aver Account and depositing and maintaining S$50,000 until 28 February 2021

. 2 chances for making 2 $10 Google Pay Transactions

Participant opens a Bonus$aver Account and deposits S$70,000 fresh funds in that account in 1 December 2020.

 

He does not carry out any Google Pay transaction during the entire Promotion period

 

This Participant does not get any chances as he did not carry out any Google Pay transaction.

 

Participant opens a Bonus$aver Account, deposits S$40,000 fresh funds in that account in December and makes a S$10 Google Pay transaction using the Linked Bonus$aver Account in 1 January 2021 as a payer.

 

This Participant will not receive any chance for any Lucky Draw as he has not deposited and maintained at least S$50,000 in the Bonus$aver Account.

 

  1. For the avoidance of doubt, if a Participant has received the Bank’s approval for the relevant product, service or transaction but subsequently cancels, terminates or reverses the product, service or transaction (as the case may be) during the Promotion Period, such Qualifying Activity shall no longer receive a chance. The Bank shall be entitled to exercise its rights under Clause 20 below to claw back the value of any Prize that has been claimed or redeemed by the Participant.
  2. We reserve the right to determine at our sole and absolute discretion the following:
    1. whether a Participant has performed a Qualifying Activity;
    2. whether a Participant is to be awarded the relevant number of chances to win a Prize in the Lucky Draw, and if so, the number of chances to be awarded; and
    3. whether a Participant has met all the conditions of the Promotion.

 

Prizes and Prize Allocation

  1. There will be a total of 60 prizes available to be won for the Promotion, in the following quantities:

Each of the above prizes shall be referred to as a “Prize”. The Promotion is subject and limited to the availability of the Prizes above. We reserve the right to change the quantity of the prizes depending on the response and demand.

  1. The winner of the Prize will be chosen by our computer programme designed specifically for the purpose of the Lucky Draw at 9 Changi Business Park Crescent, Standard Chartered Bank @ Changi 2, Singapore 486005 on May 24 2021 at 2pm.
  2. The random selection and allocation of Prizes to the respective Participants will be verified by external auditors. We reserve the discretion to change any of the Prize allocation mechanics without giving prior notice or reason. We may appoint any party as we deem fit as an external auditor for the Prize allocation.
  3. The Prizes are not exchangeable for cash or any other items, and are non-transferable and non-assignable.
  4. All Prizes will be sent to the relevant Participant’s registered mailing address with the Bank within 30 days after the Lucky Draw.
  5. Each Prize is issued subject to any terms and conditions that the merchant may impose.


General

  1. The Bank reserves the right to determine at its sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with the Promotion. The Bank’s determination of all matters arising out of or in connection with the Promotion shall be final and conclusive and no correspondence will be entertained.
  2. The Bank’s Online Banking and Mobile Banking services are dependent on the infrastructure, connectivity and services provided by service providers engaged by the Bank or the Participants. The Bank does not represent or warrant that its Online Banking and Mobile Banking services will be accessible at all times (due to regular maintenance, servicing or any other reason).
  3. Except for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Bank, to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Bank shall have no liability in respect of, and will be indemnified from and against, any liability, loss, claim, damage or costs of any kind (including legal costs) to any person or entity, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of a Participant’s acts or omissions (including, but not limited to, his/her participation in the Promotion and redemption or use of the Prize).
  4. The Prize is provided by third party merchants. The Bank is not an agent of the merchants supplying the Prize. The Bank makes no warranty or representation as to the quality, value, merchantability or fitness for purpose of the Prize and assumes no liability or responsibility for the acts or omissions of the merchants or any non-performance or defects in the Prize. Any dispute about the quality, value, condition or performance of the Prize is to be resolved by the Participant directly with the merchants. The Bank is not obliged to assist or act on a Participant’s behalf in communicating with the merchants supplying the Prize for any reason. Participants accept the Prize as it is and subject to any terms and conditions the merchants may impose. No payment or compensation whether in cash, credit or kind shall be made for any uncollected, forfeited, lost, misplaced, stolen or damaged Prize.
  5. Standard Chartered reserves the right to do any of the following without prior notice or reason:
    1. terminate, withdraw, shorten or extend this Promotion at the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion; and/or
    2. vary, modify, add or delete any of the terms of the Promotion; and/or
    3. substitute or replace the Prize with any other item (which may or may not be of equivalent or similar value).

Each Participant agrees and consents to be bound by any such variation.

  1. In the event the Bank has determined that a Participant is not eligible to receive the Prize or to participate in the Promotion, or where the Bank has knowledge of subsequent events which would mean that the Participant would not have been entitled to win the Prize, the Bank reserves the right to claw back the Prize or to deduct its value (or such other amount as it deems fit) from the Participant’s account(s) with the Bank.
  2. In the event of any inconsistency between the Promotion Terms and Conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, these Promotion Terms and Conditions shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency.
  3. Please read these terms and conditions together with our Customer Terms, the Current/Cheque/Savings Account and Time Deposit Terms, Standard Chartered Bank Google Pay Service Terms and any other product terms that may be applicable in conjunction with the Promotion (collectively “Other Terms“). In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and the Other Terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.
  4. A person who is not a party to these Promotion Terms and Conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B) to enforce any of the Promotion Terms and Conditions.
  5. The Promotion Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
  6. All information is correct at the time of publication.

Deposit Insurance Scheme

Singapore dollar deposits of non-bank depositors are insured by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation, for up to S$75,000 in aggregate per depositor per Scheme member by law. Foreign currency deposits, dual currency investments, structured deposits and other investment products are not insured.
