Standard Chartered Digital Credit Card Terms and Conditions

1. These Standard Chartered Digital Credit Card Terms and Conditions (“Terms and Conditions“) are applicable from 1 July 2019 (inclusive of this date). By submitting an application for an Eligible Card (as defined at clause 2a below) online at https://www.sc.com/sg/credit-cards/ or via the SC Mobile app, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. These Terms and Conditions will apply when:

a) You apply for one (1) of the following eligible cards (each an “Eligible Card”) issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“Standard Chartered” or the “Bank”) as a principal cardholder (“Eligible Cardholder”):

i. Unlimited Cashback Credit Card;

ii. Rewards+ Credit Card;

iii. Spree Credit Card;

iv. NUS Alumni Platinum Credit Card;

v. Prudential Platinum Credit Card; or

vi. Visa Infinite Credit Card; or

vii. X Credit Card; and

b) Your application for the Eligible Card is made online at https://www.sc.com/sg/credit-cards/ or via the SC Mobile app (“Application”) and your Eligible Card application is instantly approved by Standard Chartered, which means that such approval is provided immediately after you submit the application online (“Instant Approval”), and this approval is final and unconditional.

3. Upon Instant Approval, you must opt to activate your virtual credit card, which you can use without the physical credit card (“Digital Credit Card”), by clicking on the “ACTIVATE MY DIGITAL CREDIT CARD” button.

4. A Digital Credit Card can only be used on “Eligible Retail Transactions” which are defined as:

a.Online purchases with merchants that use 3-Domain Secure (“3DS”) with one-time password (“OTP”); and
b.Digital Wallet payments through Apple Pay, Google Pay™ or Samsung Pay.

5. For clarity, the following transactions are not Eligible Retail Transactions:

a.Online transactions not authenticated by 3DS with OTP; and
b.Transactions made using the physical version of your Eligible Card.

6. For the avoidance of doubt, in the event the Bank is unable to process your Eligible Card application due to system failure, system outage, malfunction, delay or any other circumstances whatsoever, whether within our reasonable control or otherwise, the Bank will not be able to provide Instant Approval, and the Bank disclaims all liability arising for any such delay including any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to/incurred by you the applicant, or any third party arising from or in connection therewith.

7. Standard Chartered is not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of any transaction by any party, including acquiring merchants, merchant establishments or any telecommunication provider. The Bank is not an agent of any merchant or service provider or vice versa.

8. Standard Chartered makes no warranty or representation as to the quality, merchantability or fitness for purpose of the goods and services bought and accepts no liability for the services provided by any merchant or service provider. Any dispute about the same must be resolved directly with the merchant or service provider.

9. By applying for an Eligible Card, you consent to the use of your personal data for marketing purposes, including but not limited to the use of your telephone number to contact you about products and promotions offered by the Bank from time to time via telephone, SMS or multimedia messaging. Such consent will supersede any prior choices made by you. Such consent will also prevail even if you are registered or subsequently register your contact information with the national Do Not Call Registry.

10. Standard Chartered reserves the right to vary, modify, add or delete any of these terms and conditions at the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion, with or without prior notice or reason and you agree that you are bound by any such variations, modifications and amendments.

11.Standard Chartered reserves the right to determine at its sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with the Application, including your eligibility for this Application.

12.The Bank’s determination of all matters relating to these Terms and Conditions shall be final and binding, and no correspondence will be entertained

13.In the event of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, these Terms and Conditions shall, to the extent of such inconsistency, prevail.

14.These Terms and Conditions are to be read in conjunction with our Customer Terms, Credit Card Terms and any other specific product terms that may be relevant in connection with this Promotion (collectively, “Other Terms”). In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and the Other Terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.

15.A person who is not a party to these Terms and Conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B) to enforce any of these Terms and Conditions.

16.The Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
