Standard Chartered and Grab August to October 2018 GrabRewards Platinum Tier Status Promotion Terms and Conditions


  1. The Standard Chartered and Grab August to October 2018 GrabRewards Platinum Tier Status Promotion (“Promotion”) is available from 1 August 2018 to 31 October 2018 (both dates inclusive) (“Promotion Period”). The Promotion is open to principal cardholders of Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Credit Cards, Visa Signature Credit Cards and Mastercard® World Credit Cards (“Eligible Card(s)”) issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“Bank”) (collectively, “Eligible Cardholders”). By participating in the Promotion, the Eligible Cardholders agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  2. For the avoidance of doubt, the following cards issued by the Bank are not eligible for the Promotion:
    1. Visa Classic Credit Cards;
    2. Visa Gold Credit Cards;
    3. Visa Platinum Credit Cards;
    4. Mastercard® Classic Credit Cards;
    5. Mastercard® Gold Credit Cards;
    6. Mastercard® Platinum Credit Cards; and
    7. Debit Cards.
  3. Eligible Cardholders whose Eligible Card accounts have been suspended, cancelled and/or terminated for any reason during the Promotion Period and till 31 January 2019 are not eligible for the Promotion.

Promotion Mechanics

4. Under the Promotion, an Eligible Cardholder can obtain the GrabRewards Platinum Tier Status (“Platinum Tier Status”) when they make four GrabCar and/or GrabCar (Premium) rides transactions via the Grab App and charge such rides to the Eligible Card during the Promotion Period.

5. The Eligible Cardholder must have an active GrabRewards account with Grab Inc. (“Grab”) and use an Eligible Card to qualify for the Platinum Tier Status during the Promotion Period. For the avoidance of doubt, the Eligible Cardholder must not have a Platinum Tier Status during the Promotion Period to be eligible.

6. The Eligible Cardholder will be upgraded to Platinum Tier Status by Grab automatically within 30 days upon the completion of four GrabCar and/or GrabCar (Premium) rides transactions, regardless of the number of GrabReward points that have been earned or redeemed by such Eligible Cardholder during the Promotion Period.

7. The Platinum Tier Status will be valid until 31 December 2018, after which Eligible Cardholder must meet the minimum of 4,500 GrabRewards points required to maintain Platinum Tier Status.

8. Where an Eligible Cardholder uses more than one Eligible Card under the Promotion, each Eligible Card will need to satisfy the conditions in these terms (including but not limited to the four GrabCar and/or GrabCar (Premium) rides transactions during Promotion Period) in order for the Eligible Cardholder to enjoy the features of the Promotion on that Eligible Card.


9. The Platinum Tier Status is strictly non-transferable and non-exchangeable (for cash or credit or otherwise).

10. The Bank is not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of any transaction by any party, including but not limited to the Grab App, acquiring merchants, merchant establishments, or any telecommunication provider.

11. Except for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Bank, to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Bank and members of the Bank’s group shall have no liability in respect of, and will be indemnified from and against, any liability, loss, claim, damage or costs of any kind (including legal costs) to any person or entity, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, whether by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the Platinum Tier Status.

12. The Bank reserves the right to vary, modify, add or delete any of these terms and conditions, including terminating, shortening, extending or withdrawing the Promotion with any other item (which may or may not be of equivalent or similar value), without prior notice or reason.

13. In the event the Bank has determined that an Eligible Cardholder has irregularly or wrongly redeemed the Platinum Tier Status from the Bank, or where the Bank has knowledge of subsequent events which would mean that the Eligible Cardholder would not have been entitled to redeem the Platinum Tier Status (including but not limited to where the charges used for the Promotion were reversed or refunded), the Bank reserves the right to claw back the Platinum Tier Status.

14. By participating in the Promotion, Eligible Cardholders also consent to us disclosing their information to persons who are involved in operating or promoting the Promotion and further consent to such persons contacting the Eligible Cardholders for the purposes of marketing the Promotion.

15. The Bank reserves the right to determine at its sole and absolute discretion the eligibility of a Cardholder for the Promotion. The Bank’s decision in all matters arising out of or in connection with the Promotion is final and conclusive and no correspondence will be entertained.

16. In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, these terms and conditions shall, to the extent of such inconsistency, prevail.

17. The Promotion is to be read in conjunction with our Customer Terms, Credit Card Terms, Standard Chartered Unlimited Cashback Credit Card Terms & Conditions, MANHATTAN CashBack Terms & Conditions, Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Promotion Terms & Conditions, Standard Chartered Priority Banking Visa Infinite Promotion Terms & Conditions, Standard Chartered Rewards+ Card Promotion Terms and Conditions, Bonus$aver Product Terms & Conditions and any other specific Product Terms that may be relevant in connection with the Promotion (collectively, “Other Terms”). If there are any inconsistencies between these terms and the Other Terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistencies.

18. The Bank makes no warranty or representation as to the quality, merchantability or fitness for services bought and accepts no liability for the services provided by any merchant or service provider. Any dispute about the same must be resolved directly with the merchant or service provider.

19. The Bank is not an agent of any merchant, service provider or Grab or vice versa.

20. A person who is not a party to these terms and conditions has no rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B) to enforce any of these terms and conditions.

21. These terms and conditions are governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of these terms and conditions shall be referred to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Singapore.
