Standard Chartered Credit Card Zero Interest Purchase Promotion Terms and Conditions

  1. The Standard Chartered Credit Card Zero Interest Purchase Promotion (the “Promotion”) is available for the respective Qualifying Statement Period (as defined in Clause 4 below), unless otherwise extended or otherwise terminated in accordance with these terms and conditions (both of which are defined below). By participating in this Promotion, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. The Promotion is exclusive to the principal cardholder of an Eligible Card (as defined in Clause 3 below), who has received at his/her email address Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (the “Bank”) has on file for him/her (“Registered Email”), an electronic direct mailer from the Bank or a Push Notification via the Bank’s SC Mobile application about this Promotion and terms and conditions (each such electronic direct mailer/Push Notification shall be referred to as the “Communication” and each such a cardholder shall be referred to as the “Selected Cardholder”). For the avoidance of doubt, supplementary cardholders of credit cards issued by the Bank are not eligible for this Promotion.
  2. An “Eligible Card” is a credit card that is approved by the Bank before the first Communication regarding the Promotion is sent, that is validly existing (i.e. must not be suspended, cancelled or terminated), in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner, at all times as determined by the Bank in its sole and absolute discretion (and the Bank shall not be obliged to disclose its reason).

Promotion mechanics

  1. For the purposes of these terms, the “Qualifying Statement Period” for the Promotion will:
    1. begin on the date of the next immediate statement generated by the Bank after the Bank sends the first Communication to the Eligible Cardholder; and
    2. end on the due date of the third statement that is generated by the Bank after the Eligible Cardholder receives the first Communication .

For example, if the Bank sends to an Eligible Cardholder the first Communication on 27 June 2024 and the Eligible Cardholder’s credit card statement is generated on the 1st of every calendar month, the Qualifying Statement Period for this particular Eligible Cardholder will begin on the next immediate statement (e.g., 1st July 2024) and end on the due date of the 3rd statement (e.g., 23 September 2024) (both dates inclusive).

  1. Pursuant to this Promotion:
    1. During the Qualifying Statement Period, finance charges for purchases as set out in the Bank’s Pricing Guide will not apply (“Zero Interest”). For the avoidance of doubt, for the purposes of this Clause 5(a), the finance charges for purchases refers to the finance charges which will be calculated on a daily basis at 0.076% (effective interest rate: 27.9% per annum (minimum)) on the outstanding balance from the statement date, and on all new transactions from the respective transaction dates, if payment is not made in full by the due date.
    2. The late payment charges for credit cards, as set out in the Bank’s Pricing Guide, will be imposed for an Eligible Cardholder’s Card(s), for the duration of the Qualifying Statement Period, where the minimum payment due is not received in full before the payment due date.
  1. For the avoidance of doubt:
    1. All other fees and charges as set out in the Bank’s banking agreement, except for finance charges referred to in clause 5(a) for credit cards or unless otherwise stated, will continue to apply during the Qualifying Statement Period;

For example, the Bank sends an Eligible Cardholder the first Communication on 27 June 2024 and the Eligible Cardholder’s credit card statement is generated on the 1st of every calendar month. In this case, the Qualifying Statement Period for this particular Eligible Cardholder will begin on the next immediate statement (e.g., 1st July 2024) and end on the due date of the 3rd statement (e.g., 23 September 2024) (both dates inclusive). From 24 September 2024 onwards if payment is not made in full by due date, the finance charges for credit cards, will be applied to an Eligible Cardholder’s Card account(s) in the manner stated in the Bank’s Pricing Guide.

Eligible Transactions

  1. An “Eligible Transaction” for purposes of this Promotion is a retail spend charged to an Eligible Card. The following transactions are not considered to be Eligible Transactions for purposes of this Promotion:
    1. Credit card funds transfer, instalment loans and cash advances on the Eligible Card, and ongoing instalment payments;
    2. Any fees and charges (including annual fees, interest charges, cheque processing fees, administrative fees, cash advance fees, finance charges and/or late payment charges and other miscellaneous fees and charges) charged to any of the Bank issued credit cards of the Cardholder;
    3. Any amount charged to the Eligible Card during the Promotion Period that is subsequently cancelled, voided or reversed; and
  2. The Bank reserves the right to determine at our sole discretion whether you have met all the requirements of this Promotion and whether retail spends charged to an Eligible Card are Eligible Transactions and may count towards your eligibility to receive the Zero Interest.

General

  1. Unless otherwise stated, this Promotion is not valid with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges or promotions.
  2. In the event the Bank has determined that a Cardholder is not eligible to participate in the Promotion, or where the Bank has knowledge of subsequent events which would mean that the Eligible Cardholder would not have been entitled to participate in the Promotion, the Bank reserves the right to terminate the Promotion in respect of the Eligible Cardholder. The Bank is not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of any transaction by any party, including acquiring merchants, merchant establishments or any telecommunication provider.
  3. The Bank may vary, modify, add, delete or otherwise revise any of the terms and conditions governing the Promotion or terminate, withdraw, extend or shorten the Promotion at any time at the Bank’s sole discretion, with or without prior notice or reason.
  4. The Bank makes no warranty or representation as to the quality, merchantability or fitness for purpose of the goods and services bought and accepts no liability for the services provided by any merchant or service provider. Any dispute about the same must be resolved directly with the merchant or service provider. Standard Chartered is not an agent of any merchant or service provider or vice versa.
  5. The Bank reserves the right to determine at its sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with the Promotion, including:
    1. your eligibility to participate in this Promotion;
    2. your eligibility to receive the Zero Interest.
  1. In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, these Standard Chartered Credit Card Zero Interest Purchase Promotion Terms and Conditions, shall, to the extent of such inconsistency, prevail.
  1. By participating in this Promotion, you consent to the use of your personal data for marketing purposes, including but not limited to the use of your telephone number and email address to contact you about products and promotions offered by the Bank from time to time via telephone, SMS or Electronic Direct Mail. Such consent will supersede any prior choices made by you. Such consent will also prevail even if you are registered or subsequently register your contact information with the national Do Not Call Registry.
  2. These Standard Chartered Credit Card Zero Interest Purchase Promotion Terms and Conditions are to be read in conjunction with our Customer Terms and Credit Card Terms (collectively, the “Other Terms”). In the event of any inconsistency between these Standard Chartered Credit Card Zero Interest Purchase Promotion Terms and Conditions and the Other Terms, these Standard Chartered Credit Card Zero Interest Purchase Promotion Terms and Conditions prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.
  3. A person who is not a party to these Standard Chartered Credit Card Zero Interest Purchase Promotion Terms and Conditions has no rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B) to enforce any of these Standard Chartered Credit Card Zero Interest Purchase Promotion Terms and Conditions.
  4. These Standard Chartered Credit Card Zero Interest Purchase Promotion Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Standard Chartered Credit Card Zero Interest Purchase Promotion Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
