Journey Card Frequently Asked Questions

1. What will happen to my X Credit Card on 19 May 2023?

With effect from 19 May 2023, the ‘X Credit Card’ will be rebranded to ‘Journey Credit Card’, with a refreshed card design.

If you are holding onto an existing ‘X Credit Card’, you may continue to use your card till it is due for renewal.

The card program will be switched from Visa Infinite to Visa Signature. However, you can now earn up to 3 miles for each dollar spent on bonus transactions, up to a cap of 3,000 miles per statement month. These enhancements will be applied automatically for you immediately from 19 May 2023.

2. What are the bonus spend categories which will allow me to earn 3 miles per dollar?

These are online transactions, denominated in Singapore dollars, spent in the following Merchant Category Codes (MCCs) and/or merchants.

  • Grocery/food-stores with MCCs 5411, 5462, 5499 and 5921
    (E.g. NTUC FairPrice Online, NTUC FairPrice app, Lazada Redmart, Watson’s Singapore and Nespresso Singapore)
  • Food deliveries with MCCs 5811, 5812 and 5814
    (E.g. Foodpanda, Deliveroo, McDonald’s, KFC, Pizza Hut, Dominos Pizza, Chilli Api Catering and Qi Ji Catering)
  • Transport merchants with MCCs 4111, 4121, 4411 and 4789
    (E.g.Grab, Gojek, Cabcharge Asia, Tada, Ryde Technologies, Royal Caribbean Cruises and Easybook.com )

3. How are online transactions defined?

Online transactions are card-not-present (CNP) transactions identified via their category codes. These category codes are assigned by Visa after the merchants and their acquiring banks decide on the relevant category for transactions made at such merchants.

If the merchants are not qualified by Visa under the online category of merchants, these transactions will not be considered as bonus transactions.

For the avoidance of doubt, mobile wallet transactions such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay, Garmin Pay will not qualify as bonus transactions.

4. What happens if I spend more than S$1,000 on bonus categories in a particular statement cycle?

You will earn a maximum of 3,000 miles (credited in equivalent 360o Reward Points) for bonus spend categories. Refer to illustration below.

5. Is there a cap on the number of miles I can earn for non-bonus category transactions?

There is no cap. You can continue to earn 1.2 miles for every S$1 spent locally and 2.0 miles for every S$1 spent overseas.

6. Will I continue to enjoy complimentary Priority Pass lounge access with the Journey Card?

Yes, you may continue to enjoy 2 complimentary visits to Priority Pass lounges around the world each year.

7. What will happen to my 360o Reward Points earned on my X Credit Card?

There will be no change to your existing 360o Reward Points earned on your X Credit Card. Likewise, 360o Reward Points earned on the Journey Credit Card from 19 May 2023 will have no expiry date.

8. What does a carbon neutral certified card mean?

The Bank is committed to Sustainability. The new Journey Credit Card will be certified carbon neutral and this is achieved by calculating the carbon footprint in the card’s manufacturing process and reducing that to zero

9. I have recurring payment plans / instalment plans / EasyPay on Transactions (EOT) / EasyPay on Balances (EOB) on my X Credit Card. What will happen to those?

There will be no change to your existing instalment plans or payment arrangements. All payment arrangements will be transferred to the new Journey Credit Card automatically.

10. I have outstanding balances on my X Credit Card. What will happen to it?

Balances on your X Credit Card will be transferred to the new Journey Credit Card automatically.

11. Will there be any changes to the fees and charges for the Journey Credit Card?

The current annual fee on the X Credit Card is S$702 (inclusive of 8% GST). The annual fee on the Journey Credit Card will be reduced to S$194.40 (inclusive of 8% GST). All other fees and charges will remain the same.

12. I have a supplementary X Credit Card, will that be replaced as well?

Yes, your supplementary X Credit Card(s) will be replaced together with the Principal Credit Card.

13. What are the changes to the card design? How does the Journey Credit Card look like?

The refreshed Journey Credit Card is printed on carbon neutral plastic, with the 16-digit card number and expiry date printed at the back of the card.

Jouney Card
