Bonus Cashback with Income Update – Standard Chartered Credit Cards Acquisition Terms and Conditions (BI30)

1. This Bonus Cashback with Income Update – Standard Chartered Credit Cards Acquisition (BI30) (the “Promotion”) is available from 15 August to 15 September 2018 (both dates inclusive) (the “Promotion Period“), unless otherwise extended or otherwise terminated in accordance with these terms and conditions. By participating in this Promotion, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.


2. The Promotion is exclusive to the principal cardholder who has received a Direct Mailer and/or tele marketing call (“Communication”) from Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“Bank”) about the Promotion and terms and conditions (“Selected Cardholder”). To qualify for this Promotion and receive the Bonus Cashback (defined in Clause 3):

a. the Selected Cardholder must apply for the Standard Chartered Unlimited Cashback Credit Card (“Eligible Card”) issued by the Bank as a principal cardholder (the “Application”);

b. the Application has to be submitted via the Bank’s online application channels at sc.com/sg/unlimited/invite, or sc.com/sg/unlimited/update or the Bank’s telesales channel;

c. the Bank must receive the Application within the Promotion Period;

d. the Application must be approved by the Bank, where such approval is final and unconditional;

e.the Selected Cardholder must activate the Eligible Card and make at least one Eligible Transaction (as defined in Clause 9 below) of any amount on the Eligible Card within 30 days from the card approval date; and

f. the Eligible Card account must, within six (6) months of the Eligible Card account opening date, be valid (i.e. the Eligible Card account must not be suspended, cancelled and/or terminated), in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner as determined by the Bank in its sole and absolute discretion.

3. Subject to these terms, if you satisfy all the eligibility criteria set out in Clause 2 above, you will be eligible to receive

a. S$30 cashback (“Bonus Cashback”), and

b. Additional S$20 cashback (“Additional Cashback”), if you submit your latest income documents for a Credit Limit Review along with the Application. Your latest income documents must reflect a change in your prevailing annual income as compared to that which is currently in the Bank’s records.  (Refer to clauses 5 to 7 for the relevant terms and conditions of Credit Limit Review applied when you submit the latest income documents.)

The Bonus Cashback and Additional Cashback (where applicable) will be credited into your Eligible Card account by 30 November 2018.

4. The Bonus Cashback and Additional Cashback (where applicable) are not transferable or exchangeable for cash or any other items.

5. The Bank will review and determine, at its sole discretion, your eligibility for adjustment of credit limit based on the latest income document(s) you submitted to the Bank, and subject to the prevailing regulatory requirements and guidelines.

6. The revised credit limit will apply to and is shared among all your principal credit card account(s), including the new Unlimited Cashback Credit Card with the Bank and all corresponding supplementary credit card(s) authorised by you, except your (if any) secured credit card(s), credit card(s) with $500 limit, and corporate card(s).

7. If your latest income document(s) reflect that your prevailing annual income is of a lower amount than that which is currently in the Bank’s records, the current credit limit(s) applicable to all your unsecured credit facilities will be reduced accordingly.


8. Unless otherwise stated, this Promotion is not valid with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges or promotions. This Promotion is valid in conjunction with the Bank’s Credit Cards Sign-up Promotion (the terms and conditions of which can be found here) and The Good Life® 2018 Promotion (the individual merchant and general terms and conditions of which can be found here).

9. The following transactions charged to the Eligible Card will not be considered as Eligible Transactions:

(a) Insurance premiums, including premiums for investment-linked policies, charged to the Eligible Card;

(b) Bill payments (Examples of bill payment merchants include but are not limited to Telecommunications and utilities providers such as Starhub, Singtel and M1, Singapore Power);

(c) Any payment via AXS network;

(d) Any payment via SAM network;

(e) Payments to government agencies which include but not limited to Land Transport Authority, Housing Development Board, Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, Public Utilities Board, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority and the Ministry of Manpower;

(f) Income tax payments;

(g) EZ-Link card transactions;

(h) TransitLink transactions;

(i) Any transactions pertaining to Merchant Category Codes 6211 (Security Brokers/Dealers) and 7995 (Gambling/Lotto);

(j) Balance transfers to the Cards, cash advances from the Cards, purchases via NETS and ongoing instalment payments;

(k) Any fees and charges (including annual fees, interest charges, cheque processing fees, administrative fees, cash advance fees, finance charges and/or late payment charges and other miscellaneous fees and charges) charged to the Eligible Card;

(l) Any amount charged to the Eligible Card within 30 days from the Eligible Card approval date that is subsequently cancelled, voided or reversed; and

(m) Balance owing on the Eligible Card account from other months.

10. For new retail transactions charged within 30 days from the card approval date to the Eligible Card which are successfully converted into monthly instalments:

(a)  (in the case of a 0% Interest Instalment Plan), the monthly instalment amount (and not the total amount charged for that transaction); or

(b)  (in the case of EasyPay) the total amount charged (and not the converted monthly instalment amount),

will be considered as an Eligible Transaction, provided such transaction fulfils the requirements in Clause 9 above.

11. Eligible Transactions charged and posted to the card accounts of all supplementary cards linked to an Eligible Card will be considered as an Eligible Transaction made by the principal cardholder of the Eligible Card (“Eligible Cardholder”) on the Eligible Card for the purposes of this Promotion.

12. The Bank reserves the right to do any of the following without prior notice:

a. terminate, withdraw, shorten or extend this Promotion at the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion, with or without prior notice or reason; and/or

b. vary, modify, add or delete any of the terms of the Promotion.

You agree and consent to be bound by any such variation.

13. In the event the Bank has determined that an Eligible Cardholder is not eligible to receive the Bonus Cashback and/or Additional Cashback or to participate in this Promotion, or where the Bank has knowledge of subsequent events which would mean that the Eligible Cardholder would not have been entitled to redeem the Bonus Cashback and/or Additional Cashback, (including but not limited to where the transaction used to fulfil Clause 2(e) above was reversed or refunded), the Bank reserves the right to claw back the Bonus Cashback and/or Additional Cashback or to deduct its value (or such other amount as it deems fit) from the Eligible Cardholder’s account(s) with the Bank.

14. Except for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Bank, to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Bank accepts no liability for the goods and services provided by any merchant or service provider. In case of any disputes, the decision of the Bank and the respective merchants shall be final.

15. In the event of any inconsistency between the Promotion Terms and Conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, these Promotion Terms and Conditions shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency.

16. The Promotion Terms and Conditions are to be read in conjunction with our Customer Terms, Credit Card Terms and any other specific Product Terms that may be relevant in connection with this Promotion (“Other Terms“). In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and the Other Terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.

17. The Bank is not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of any transaction by any party, including acquiring merchants, merchant establishments or any telecommunication provider.

18. The Bank makes no warranty or representation as to the quality, merchantability or fitness for purpose of the goods and services bought and accepts no liability for the services provided by any merchant or service provider. Any dispute about the same must be resolved directly with the merchant or service provider.

19. The Bank is not an agent of any merchant or service provider, or vice versa.

20. The Bank reserves the right to determine at its sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with this Promotion, including your eligibility for this Promotion and/or to receive cashback under this Promotion. The Bank’s determination of all matters relating to this Promotion shall be final and conclusive and no correspondence will be entertained.

21. By applying for an Eligible Card pursuant to this Promotion, you consent to the use of your personal data for marketing purposes, including but not limited to the use of your telephone number to contact you about products and promotions offered by the Bank from time to time via telephone, SMS or multimedia messaging. Such consent will supersede any prior choices made by you. Such consent will also prevail even if you are registered or subsequently register your contact information with the national Do Not Call Registry.

22. A person who is not a party to the Promotion Terms and Conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B) to enforce any of the Promotion Terms and Conditions.

23. The Promotion Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
