Standard Chartered Digital Credit Card Terms and Conditions

  1. This Digital Credit Card Sign-Up Promotion (the “Promotion”) is available from 22 April 2019 to 30 June 2019 (both dates inclusive) (the “Promotion Period”), unless otherwise extended or otherwise terminated in accordance with these terms and conditions. By participating in this Promotion, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.


  1. To qualify for this Promotion and receive the cashback defined at Clause 3 below:
    1. you must apply for one (1) of the following eligible cards (each an “Eligible Card”) issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“Standard Chartered” or the “Bank”) as a principal cardholder (“Eligible Cardholder”):
      1. Unlimited Cashback Credit Card;
      2. Rewards+ Credit Card;
      3. Spree Credit Card;
      4. NUS Alumni Platinum Credit Card;
      5. Prudential Platinum Credit Card; or
      6. Visa Infinite Credit Card;
    2. Your application for the Eligible Card must be made online at https://www.sc.com/sg/credit-cards/;
    3. Standard Chartered must receive your application for the Eligible Card within the Promotion Period;
    4. Your Eligible Card application must be instantly approved by Standard Chartered, which means that such approval is provided immediately after you submit the application online (“Instant Approval”). In the event that your application is not approved instantly due to any reason, you will not be eligible for this Promotion;
    5. For the avoidance of doubt, in the event the Bank is unable to process your Eligible Card due to system failure, system outage, malfunction, delay or any other circumstances whatsoever, whether within our reasonable control or otherwise, the Bank will not be able to provide Instant Approval, and the Bank disclaims all liability arising for any such delay including any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to/incurred by you the applicant, or any third party arising from or in connection therewith.
    6. Upon Instant Approval, you must opt to activate your virtual credit card which you can use without the physical credit card (“Digital Credit Card“) by clicking on the “ACTIVATE MY DIGITAL CREDIT CARD” button;
    7. the Eligible Card account must, within six (6) months of the Eligible Card account opening date, be valid (i.e. the Eligible Card account must not be suspended, cancelled and/or terminated), in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner as determined by Standard Chartered in its sole and absolute discretion;
    8. You must make at least one Eligible Retail Transaction of S$1 or more using your Digital Credit Card. “Eligible Retail Transaction” is defined as:
      1. Online purchases with merchants that use 3-Domain Secure (“3DS”) with one-time password (“OTP”); and
      2. Digital Wallet payments through Apple Pay, Google Pay™ or Samsung Pay.
    9. Eligible Retail Transactions must be performed within 3 days from the date the Eligible Card is instantly approved online and
    10. For clarity, the following transactions are not Eligible Retail Transactions:
      1. Online transactions not authenticated by 3DS with OTP; and
      2. Transactions made using the physical version of your Eligible Card.
    11. Cashback

      1. Subject to these terms, if you satisfy all the eligibility criteria set out in Clause 2 above, you will be eligible to receive S$20 cashback (“Cashback“).
      1. The maximum aggregate amount of Cashback that an Eligible Cardholder may receive under this Promotion is capped at S$20 (“Cashback Cap). The Cashback Cap does not include any vouchers / stored value cards / credits / any other sign-up gifts which are not in the form of cashback received under any and all other credit card sign-up promotions with the Bank that you qualify for, whether prior or subsequent to your application pursuant to this Promotion.
      1. The Cashback you are entitled to receive under this Promotion will be credited to your principal Eligible Card account by 31 July 2019, subject to the Eligible Card account being valid and in good standing, as defined at Clause 2(f).


      1. The Cashback is not exchangeable for cash or any other items, and is non-transferable and non-assignable.

      No payment or compensation whether in cash, credit or kind shall be made for any uncollected, lost, stolen or damaged Cashback. The Bank reserves the right to replace or substitute the Cashback with any item which may or may not be of equivalent or similar value, without prior notice or reason (and the Bank shall not be obliged to disclose its reason).

      1. Except for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Bank, to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Bank and members of the Bank’s group shall have no liability in respect of, and will be indemnified from and against, any liability, loss, claim, damage or costs of any kind (including legal costs) to any person or entity, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, whether by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the Cashback. If the Bank at any time determines (at its sole and absolute discretion) that any of the eligibility requirements set out above was not or has not been complied with but any Cashback has been redeemed by you, the Bank reserves the right to claw back any / all Cashback or the value of any / all Cashback from your account(s) with the Bank.
      1. Standard Chartered is not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of any transaction by any party, including acquiring merchants, merchant establishments or any telecommunication provider. The Bank is not an agent of any merchant or service provider or vice versa.
      1. Standard Chartered makes no warranty or representation as to the quality, merchantability or fitness for purpose of the goods and services bought and accepts no liability for the services provided by any merchant or service provider. Any dispute about the same must be resolved directly with the merchant or service provider.
      1. By applying for an Eligible Card pursuant to this Promotion, you consent to the use of your personal data for marketing purposes, including but not limited to the use of your telephone number to contact you about products and promotions offered by the Bank from time to time via telephone, SMS or multimedia messaging. Such consent will supersede any prior choices made by you. Such consent will also prevail even if you are registered or subsequently register your contact information with the national Do Not Call Registry.
      1. Standard Chartered reserves the right to do any of the following without prior notice:
        1. terminate, withdraw, shorten, suspend or extend this Promotion at the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion, with or without prior notice or reason; and/or
        2. vary, modify, add or delete any of the terms of the Promotion.

        You agree and consent to be bound by any such variation.

      1. Standard Chartered reserves the right to determine at its sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with this Promotion, including:
        1. your eligibility to participate in this Promotion;
        2. determining if your Digital Credit Card is an Eligible Card;
        3. your eligibility to receive any cashback under this Promotion; and/or
        4. calculation of the cashback you receive under this Promotion.
      1. The Bank’s determination of all matters relating to the Promotion shall be final and binding, and no correspondence will be entertained.
      1. In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, these terms and conditions shall, to the extent of such inconsistency, prevail.
      1. The Promotion Terms and Conditions are to be read in conjunction with our Customer Terms, Credit Card Terms and any other specific Product Terms that may be relevant in connection with this Promotion (collectively, “Other Terms”). In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and the Other Terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.
      1. A person who is not a party to the Promotion Terms and Conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B) to enforce any of the Promotion Terms and Conditions.
      1. The Promotion Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
