Credit Card Additional Cashback or Additional Gift Promotion Terms and Conditions

  1. This Smart Credit Card Additional Cashback or Additional Gift Promotion (the “Promotion”) is available from 17 January 2022 to 16 February 2022 (both dates inclusive);  (the “Promotion Period“), unless otherwise extended or otherwise terminated in accordance with these terms and conditions. By participating in this Promotion, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. For the purposes of this Promotion, Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited shall be known as “Standard Chartered” or the “Bank”. 
  1. To qualify for this Promotion:
    1. you must apply through https://www.sc.com/sg/ to be the principal cardholder of Smart Credit Card issued by Standard Chartered (each an “Eligible Card”), between 17 January 2022 to 16 February 2022 (both dates inclusive);
    2. you must be a new Standard Chartered principal cardholder. In other words, you must not have any existing or previously cancelled Standard Chartered credit cards in the last 12 months;
    3. Standard Chartered must receive your application for an Eligible Card within the Promotion Period. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Standard Chartered may continue to process any application received by Standard Chartered up to 14 calendar days after the end of the Promotion Period, and Standard Chartered shall retain the sole and absolute discretion to determine the eligibility of these applications and/or allow the said applications for the purposes of this Promotion on a case-to-case basis, subject to these terms and conditions;
    4. your application for an Eligible Card, pursuant to this Promotion, must be approved by Standard Chartered within 14 calendar days after the Promotion Period, where such approval is final and unconditional;
    5. you must activate the physical version of the Eligible Card that you have applied for pursuant to this Promotion within 30 days from the card approval date. For the avoidance of doubt, a digital version of the Eligible Card that you have applied for pursuant to this Promotion is not eligible for this Promotion; and the account for the Eligible Card that you have applied for pursuant to this Promotion must, within three (3) months of the Eligible Card account opening date, be valid (i.e. the Eligible Card account must not be suspended, cancelled and/or terminated), in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner as determined by Standard Chartered in its sole and absolute discretion.
  1. You will be eligible to receive a cashback of S$200 (“Additional Cashback”) if you satisfy the conditions set out in Clause 2 above (“Eligible Cardholder”) and if:
    1. S$200 to S$499.99 (both inclusive) of Eligible Transactions (as defined in Clause 6) is charged to Eligible Card and posted to the Eligible Card account within 30 days from the card approval date of the Eligible Card that you have applied for pursuant to this Promotion; or
    2. at least S$500 of Eligible Transactions (as defined in Clause 6) is charged to Eligible Card and posted to the Eligible Card account within 30 days from the card approval date of the Eligible Card that you have applied for pursuant to this Promotion and you did not participant in the Additional Cashback or Additional Gift Promotion (as defined in Clause 7 below).
  2. You will be eligible to receive a Ninja AF300 Foodi Dual Zone Air Fryer (“Additional Gift”) if:
    1. you satisfy the conditions set out in Clause 2 above;
    2. at least S$500 of Eligible Transactions (as defined in Clause 6) is charged to the Eligible Card and posted to the Eligible Card account within 30 days from the card approval date of the Eligible Card that you have applied for pursuant to this Promotion; and
  1. For the avoidance of doubt, an Eligible Cardholder cannot receive both the Additional Cashback and the Additional Gift. In addition, an Eligible Cardholder cannot receive more than one (1) Additional Cashback or more than one (1) Additional Gift.
  1. An “Eligible Transaction”, for the purposes of this Promotion, is a transaction which is charged and posted to the Eligible Card account that you have applied for pursuant to this Promotion within 30 days from the date the application for the Eligible Card, pursuant to this Promotion, is approved , except that the following transactions will not be considered as Eligible Transactions, for the purposes of this Promotion:
    1. any cash advance;
    2. any fees or charges (including but not limited to annual card fees, service fees, interest charges, cheque processing fees, administrative fees, finance charges, and/or late payment charges and other miscellaneous fees and charges);
    3. any Credit Card Funds Transfer;
    4. any monthly instalment of an EasyPay transaction;
    5. any amount charged to your Eligible Card that is subsequently cancelled, voided, refunded or reversed;
    6. recurring payments (being automatic payments where you (including your supplementary cardholder(s) on your Eligible Card account) have given a one-time authorisation or instruction for the merchant to charge the payment directly to your Eligible Card at a fixed interval, such as transactions made pursuant to Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited’s 0% Interest Instalment Plan) or payments made to all billing organisations using Standard Chartered Online Banking or mobile app;
    7. AXS, SAM or ATM transactions made using your Eligible Card;
    8. amounts which have been rolled over from any preceding month’s statement; i. tax refunds credited into your Eligible Card account;
    9. any insurance premiums charged to your Eligible Card;
    10. any payments related to betting (including lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, off-track betting, and wagers at race tracks) through any channel charged to your Eligible Card;
    11. any top-ups or payment of funds to any prepaid cards (with exception of EZ-Reload charged to your Eligible Card) and any prepaid accounts including without limitation:
      1. any transaction classified under either of the following Merchant Category Codes: • Financial Institutions – Merchandise, Services, and Debt Repayment (6012); or • Non-Financial Institutions – Stored Value Card Purchase/Load (6540); and
      2. any top-ups or payment of funds to the following accounts or any other accounts as we may specify from time to time: ·

  • 6211 (Security Brokers/Dealers)
  • 4829 (Money Transfer) and 6513 (Real Estate Agents and Managers)

Participation

  1. To qualify for the Additional Gift, an Eligible Cardholder must successfully register for the Promotion. To register for the Promotion, an Eligible Cardholder must, after his/her Eligible Card application pursuant to this Promotion has been approved, register by sending a SMS during the period of 17 January 2022 to 16 February 2022 (both dates inclusive) (the “Registration Period”) in accordance with Clause 6 below. An Eligible Cardholder will only be considered as having successfully registered for the Promotion, if he/she receives an automated SMS response from the Bank confirming his/her successful registration and each Eligible Cardholder who receives such an SMS shall be known as a “Registered Cardholder”.
  2. The Bank will not accept any registration for the Promotion that:
    1. is before or after the Registration Period; and/or
    2. is not in the prescribed format (as set out at Clause 9 below).

All such registrations will be considered by the Bank to be invalid and/or void, and the Bank’s determination shall be final and conclusive.

  1. For the purposes of registering for the Promotion, all SMSes must be composed in the following format:

”SMART” (Example: SMART)

The composed SMS must be sent to 77222 from the Eligible Cardholder’s mobile number that the Bank has on file for him/her (“Bank Registered Mobile Number”).

  1. The speed and reliability of service of the Eligible Cardholder’s internet and/or mobile connection is dependent solely on his/her respective internet and/or mobile service providers. The Bank is not and will not be responsible or liable in any manner whatsoever for any delay or failure in the transmission or receipt of any SMS, or any failure to successfully register resulting from the same. Eligible Cardholders shall be solely responsible for all fees and charges imposed by their service providers in relation to the registration for the Promotion.

 

Promotion Mechanics

  1. Subject to these terms, if you satisfy all the eligibility criteria set out in Clause 4 above, you will be eligible to receive a Ninja AF300 Foodi Dual Zone Air Fryer (Black).
  2. The Bank will send each Registered Cardholder who is eligible to receive an Additional Gift, an SMS, within 75 working days from the date the Registered Cardholder activates his/her Eligible Card, which will state the redemption details of the Additional Gift and contain a link to the Standard Chartered Credit Card Additional Gift Promotion Redemption Terms and Conditions.  Each such SMS shall be referred to as a “Redemption SMS”. By redeeming the Additional Gift, you agree to also be bound by the Standard Chartered Smart Credit Card Additional Gift Promotion Redemption Terms and Conditions. For the avoidance of doubt, the Bank is not liable to any person (including, without limitation, any Eligible Cardholder) for any losses, damages, claims, liabilities or expenses incurred or suffered as a result of any Eligible Cardholder utilising the Additional Gift. 

 

Cashback Fulfilment mechanics 

  1. The Additional Cashback you are entitled to receive under this Promotion will be credited to your account for the Eligible Card that you have applied for pursuant to this Promotion, within 75 working days of the date of activation of your aforementioned Eligible Card, subject to this Eligible Card being valid and in good standing at the time of crediting of the Additional 

General

  1. Unless otherwise stated, this Promotion is not valid with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges or promotions. The Promotion is valid in conjunction with the Credit Card Sign Up Promotion Terms and Conditions, Standard Chartered Caltex 2021 Promotion (the terms and conditions of which can be found here) and The Good Life Privileges (which can be found here).
  2. For Eligible Transactions which are charged in foreign currency to an Eligible Card, the transaction amount posted in the Eligible Cardholder’s credit card statement (which is inclusive of the exchange rate conversion and commission, if any) will be considered as the amount of the Eligible Transaction.
  1. The Additional Gift and Additional Cashback are not refundable, not exchangeable for cash or any other item(s) and are non-transferable and non-assignable.
  1. No payment or compensation whether in cash, credit or kind shall be made for any uncollected, lost, misplaced, defaced, stolen or damaged Additional Cashback or Additional Gift.
  1. The Bank reserves the right to replace or substitute the Additional Gift with any item of equivalent or similar value, without prior notice or reason (and the Bank shall not be obliged to disclose its reason).
  1. Except for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Bank, to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Bank and members of the Bank’s group shall have no liability in respect of, and will be indemnified from and against, any liability, loss, claim, damage or costs of any kind (including legal costs) to any person or entity, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, whether by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a Additional Gift.
  1. The Additional Gift is provided by third party merchant(s) who are not participants or sponsors of the Promotion. The Bank is not an agent of such merchant(s). The Bank makes no representation or warranty as to the Additional Gift or the quality of any of the goods and services provided by the merchant(s). The Additional Gift is subject to the terms and conditions of the merchant(s). Any dispute about the condition, merchantability, fitness of purpose, quality or performance of the Gift or the goods and the services provided by a merchant or a service provider must be resolved directly with the merchant and the service provider respectively. The Bank is not obliged to assist or act on the Registered Cardholder’s behalf in communicating with the merchant(s) and the service provider(s). The Bank assumes no liability or responsibility for the acts or omissions of the merchant(s), the service provider(s), the Redemption Centre or any non-performance or defects in the Additional Gift.
  1. If the Bank at any time determines (at its sole and absolute discretion) that any of the eligibility requirements set out in Clauses 2 to 4 were not or have not been complied with but any cashback/gift has been received by you, the Bank reserves the right to recover any / all cashback or the value of any / all gift from you.
  1. Standard Chartered reserves the right to do any of the following without prior notice:
    1. modify, terminate, withdra w, shorten, suspend or extend this Promotion at the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion, with or without prior notice or reason; and/or
    2. vary, modify, revise, add or delete any of the terms and conditions of the Promotion.
      You agree and consent to be bound by any such variation, modification, revision, addition or deletion.
  1. These Smart Credit Card Additional Cashback or Additional Gift Promotion Terms and Conditions are to be read in conjunction with our Customer Terms, Credit Card Terms and any other specific Product Terms that may be relevant in connection with this Promotion (“Other Terms”). In the event of any inconsistency between these Credit Card Additional Cashback or Additional Gift Promotion Terms and the Other Terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.
  1. Standard Chartered is not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of any transaction by any party, including acquiring merchants, merchant establishments or any telecommunication provider.
  1. Standard Chartered makes no warranty or representation as to the quality, merchantability or fitness for purpose of the goods and services bought and accepts no liability for the services provided by any merchant or service provider. Any dispute about the same must be resolved directly with the merchant or service provider.
  1. Standard Chartered reserves the right to determine at its sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with this Promotion, including:
    1. your eligibility to participate in this Promotion;
    2. your eligibility to receive any cashback or gift under this Promotion; and/or
    3. calculation of the cashback you receive under this Promotion.

Standard Chartered’s determination of all matters relating to this Promotion shall be final and conclusive and no correspondence will be entertained.

  1. By applying for an Eligible Card pursuant to this Promotion, you consent to the use of your personal data by the Bank for marketing purposes, including but not limited to the use of your telephone number and email address to contact you about products and promotions offered by the Bank from time to time via telephone, SMS or Electronic Direct Mail. Such consent will supersede any prior choices made by you and will also prevail even if you are registered or subsequently register your contact information with the national Do Not Call Registry. You further acknowledge that your personal data (i) will also be processed in accordance with the Bank’s privacy statement available at https://www.sc.com/sg/privacy/ ; and (ii) may be used in accordance with the Bank’s policies, terms and conditions or notices made available by the Bank to you from time to time.
  1. By registering for the Promotion for the Additional Gift, you consent to the Bank’s collection, use and disclosure of your personal data to relevant third parties as the Bank deems necessary for purposes relating to the Promotion (including but not limited to administering your participation in the Promotion and administering the redemption and/or delivery of the Gift). You further acknowledge that your personal data (i) will also be processed in accordance with the Bank’s privacy statement available at https://www.sc.com/sg/privacy/ ; and (ii) may be used in accordance with the Bank’s policies, terms and conditions or notices made available by the Bank to you from time to time.
  1. In the event of any inconsistency between these Credit Card Additional Cashback or Additional Gift Promotion Terms and Conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to this Promotion, these Credit Card Additional Cashback or Additional Gift Promotion Terms and Conditions shall, to the extent of such inconsistency, prevail.
  1. A person who is not a party to these Credit Card Additional Cashback or Additional Gift Promotion Terms and Conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B) to enforce any of these Credit Card Additional Cashback or Additional Gift Promotion Terms and Conditions.
  1. These Credit Card Additional Cashback or Additional Gift Promotion Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Credit Card Additional Cashback or Additional Gift Promotion Terms and Conditions, shall be governed by and are to be construed in accordance with, the laws of the Republic of Singapore and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
