Important Information

Change in One-Time Password (OTP) Screen

We have upgraded our system to support the latest authentication technology. This is to ensure that your online transactions are conducted in a safer and more secure environment.

Always check that the credit card transaction that you are intending to make is a direct purchase and do not provide an OTP to authenticate the payment if it is not. Verify the details of the messages received from SCB. Always check that the messages reflect your intended actions and do not proceed or authorize any suspicious transactions.

Do not share the OTP with others.

From August 2020, you may see a different OTP screen for some online purchases. Examples of the new OTP screens are given below:

  • For enhanced protection against online fraud, you will receive an OTP for all your online purchases you make with your SCB credit/debit cards. The purpose is to validate that it is our genuine client making the purchase. This technology is called 3D Secure, and it makes online payments easy and secure.

  • Yes. Do not share the OTP with others.

  • The merchant website that you are transacting at may not support 3D Secure technology.

    Another possible reason could be your mobile number has not been updated with the Bank, please go to iBanking > Update Profile Details to update.

  • Yes, supplementary cardholders will receive an OTP for their online purchases. Please select “Supplementary Cardholder” on the Landing Page and key in name printed on card in order to receive the OTP on their Bank’s registered mobile number.

  • The OTP would be sent instantly to the registered mobile number in our records. Please check if these details displayed on the screen are correct. If they are correct, please click on ‘Resend OTP’.

  • No. This feature is automatically enabled for your SCB credit/debit cards.
