Standard Chartered Credit Card Consumer Electronics Exhibition (CEE) Promotion Terms and Conditions

  1. This Standard Chartered Credit Card Consumer Electronics Exhibition Promotion (the “Promotion”) is available from 23 – 26 May 2024 (both dates inclusive) (the “Promotion Period“), unless otherwise extended or otherwise terminated in accordance with these terms and conditions. By participating in this Promotion, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. From time to time, Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (the “Bank”) may organise public road-shows (each a “Roadshow”) which promotes credit card applications, and this Promotion is held in conjunction with selected Roadshows. Successful applicants will receive gift (“Gift”) of the Bank’s choice (which may vary from time to time at the Bank’s sole discretion), subject to a maximum of one Gift per successful applicant, on a first come, first served basis, while stocks last. By participating in the Promotion, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Eligibility – New credit cardholders 

  1. To qualify for this Promotion and receive the Acquisition Gift available as set out in Clause 3 below:
    1. you must be a new Standard Chartered principal cardholder. In other words, you must not have any existing or previously cancelled Standard Chartered credit cards in the last 12 months;
    2. you must apply via the link provided by an agent of the Bank for two of the following eligible cards (each an “Eligible Card”) issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“Standard Chartered” or the “Bank”) as a principal cardholder (“Cardholder”):
      • (i) Journey Credit Card and Simply Cash Credit Card; or
      • (ii) Simply Cash Credit Card and Smart Credit Card
    3. Standard Chartered must receive your application for the Eligible Card within the Promotion Period. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Standard Chartered may continue to process any application received by Standard Chartered up to 14 calendar days after the end of the Promotion Period, and Standard Chartered shall retain the sole and absolute discretion to determine the eligibility of these applications and/or allow the said applications for the purposes of this Promotion on a case-to-case basis, subject to these terms and conditions;
    4. your Eligible Card application must be approved by Standard Chartered within 14 calendar days after the Promotion Period, where such approval is final and unconditional;
    5. you must activate both Eligible Cards within 30 days from the card approval date, and
    6. the Eligible Card account must, within three (3) months of the Eligible Card account opening date, be valid (i.e. the Eligible Card account must not be suspended, cancelled and/or terminated), in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner as determined by Standard Chartered in its sole and absolute discretion.
  1.  Subject to these terms, if you satisfy all the eligibility criteria set out in
    1. Clause 2bi, you will be eligible to receive up to 45,000 Miles and an American Tourister Senna Spinner 20’’ Luggage (“Acquisition Gift”) if you select the ‘Annual Fee Payable’ option for Journey Credit Card.     2. Clause 2bii, you will be eligible for a Sony WF-C500 Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds (“Acquisition Gift”) if you charge at least S$688 of Eligible Transactions (as defined in clause 4b) to the Eligible Card within 30 days of the date the application for the Eligible Card is approved.

For the avoidance of doubt, redemption of the Gift is on a first-come-first-served and while-stocks-last basis. Once all the Gifts are fully redeemed, Credit Cardholders will cease to qualify and participate in the Promotion.

Eligibility

  1.  You must be a new Standard Chartered principal cardholder. In other words, you must not have any existing or previously cancelled Standard Chartered credit cards in the last 12 months;
    1. An “Eligible Transaction”, for the purposes of this Promotion, is a transaction which is charged and posted to the Eligible Card within 30 days of the date the application for the Eligible Card is approved pursuant to this Promotion, except that the following transactions will not be considered as Eligible Transactions, for the purposes of this Promotion
      1. any cash advance;
      2. any fees or charges (including but not limited to annual card fees, service fees, interest charges, cheque processing fees, administrative fees, finance charges, and/or late payment charges and other miscellaneous fees and charges);
      3. any Credit Card Funds Transfer;
      4. any monthly instalment of an EasyPay transaction;
      5. any amount charged to your Eligible Card that is subsequently cancelled, voided, refunded or reversed;
      6. recurring payments (being automatic payments where you (including your supplementary cardholder(s) on your Eligible Card account) have given a one-time authorisation or instruction for the merchant to charge the payment directly to your Eligible Card at a fixed interval, such as transactions made pursuant to Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited’s 0% Interest Instalment Plan) or payments made to all billing organisations using Standard Chartered Online Banking or mobile app;
      7. AXS, SAM or ATM transactions made using your Eligible Card;
      8. amounts which have been rolled over from any preceding month’s statement; i. tax refunds credited into your Eligible Card account;
      9. any insurance premiums charged to your Eligible Card;
      10. any payments related to betting (including lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, off-track betting, and wagers at race tracks) through any channel charged to your Eligible Card;
      11. any top-ups or payment of funds to any prepaid cards (with exception of EZ-Reload charged to your Eligible Card) and any prepaid accounts including without limitation:
      12. any transaction classified under either of the following Merchant Category Codes:
        1. Financial Institutions – Merchandise, Services, and Debt Repayment (6012); or
        2. Non-Financial Institutions – Stored Value Card Purchase/Load (6540); and
        3. any top-ups or payment of funds to the following accounts or any other accounts as we may specify from time to time:

Fulfilment mechanics

  1. By qualifying for and participating in the Promotion, you consent to us sending you a notification by way of SMS (the “Redemption SMS”), if you are eligible for the Acquisition Gift as per Clause 3b, within 90 calendar days of the latest date of fulfilment for all the conditions set out above. You also consent to the collection, use and/or disclosure of your personal data (including the last four digits of your NRIC/passport number) by the Bank and/or relevant third parties (including but not limited to the merchants supplying the Gift, the merchants delivering the Gift (to the extent that such delivery option is made available to you), and/or merchants administering the redemption of the Gift) necessary for the purposes of administering the redemption of the Gift and/or delivering the Gift. Your personal data will be processed in line with the Bank’s privacy statement available at https://www.sc.com/sg/privacy/. By redeeming the Gift, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions stated herein and in the Bank’s Redemption Terms and Conditions (details of which will be provided to you should you qualify for the Gift).

General

  1. If you have received the Eligible Card in conjunction with your application for a CashOne / Credit Card Instalment Loan or any other credit card sign-up promotions of the Bank, you will not be eligible for the Acquisition Gift under this Promotion.
  2. Unless otherwise stated, this Promotion is not valid with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges or promotions. The Promotion is valid in conjunction with the Credit Card Sign-Up Promotion Terms and Conditions and The Good Life Terms and Conditions.
  3. No payment or compensation whether in cash, credit or kind shall be made for any lost, misplaced or stolen Acquisition Gift.
  4. The Bank reserves the right to replace or substitute the Acquisition Gift with any item of equivalent or similar value, without prior notice or reason (and the Bank shall not be obliged to disclose its reason).
  5. If the Bank at any time determines (at its sole and absolute discretion) that any of the eligibility requirements set out in Clauses 2 or 4 above was not or has not been complied with but the cashback or Rewards Points has been redeemed by you, the Bank reserves the right to claw back the value of the cashback or Rewards Points or to deduct its value (or such other amount as it deems fit) from the Cardholder’s account with the Bank.
  6. Except for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Bank, to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Bank and members of the Bank’s group shall have no liability in respect of, and will be indemnified from and against, any liability, loss, claim, damage or costs of any kind (including legal costs) to any person or entity, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, whether by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the Acquisition Gift.
  7. Standard Chartered reserves the right to do any of the following without prior notice:
    1. terminate, withdraw, shorten, suspend or extend this Promotion at the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion, with or without prior notice or reason; and/or
    2. vary, modify, add or delete any of the terms of the Promotion.

You agree and consent to be bound by any such variation.

  1. These Standard Chartered Credit Cards Sign-Up Promotion Terms and Conditions are to be read in conjunction with our Customer Terms, Credit Card Terms and any other specific Product Terms that may be relevant in connection with this Promotion (“Other Terms”). In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and the Other Terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.
  2. Standard Chartered is not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of any transaction by any party, including acquiring merchants, merchant establishments or any telecommunication provider.
  3. Standard Chartered makes no warranty or representation as to the quality, merchantability or fitness for purpose of the goods and services bought and accepts no liability for the services provided by any merchant or service provider. Any dispute about the same must be resolved directly with the merchant or service provider.
  4. Standard Chartered reserves the right to determine at its sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with this Promotion, including:
    1. your eligibility to participate in this Promotion;
    2. your eligibility to receive the Acquisition Gift under this Promotion; and/or

Standard Chartered’s determination of all matters relating to this Promotion shall be final and conclusive and no correspondence will be entertained.

  1. By applying for an Eligible Card pursuant to this Promotion, you consent to the use of your personal data for marketing purposes, including but not limited to the use of your telephone number and email address to contact you about products and promotions offered by the Bank from time to time via telephone, SMS or Electronic Direct Mail. Such consent will supersede any prior choices made by you. Such consent will also prevail even if you are registered or subsequently register your contact information with the national Do Not Call Registry.
  2. In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, these terms and conditions shall, to the extent of such inconsistency, prevail.
  3. A person who is not a party to the Standard Chartered Credit Cards Sign-Up Promotion Terms and Conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B) to enforce any of the Promotion Terms and Conditions.
  4. The Standard Chartered Credit Cards Sign-Up Promotion Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
