    You can now register Instantly for Online Banking using your ATM or Debit Card or Credit Card. You will need to input your Debit/ Credit card details and validate through One Time Password ( OTP) which will be sent to your registered mobile number
    To apply for Online Banking, simply fill the registration form and send it to us. Your unique Secure Online Banking ID & Password will be sent at your mailing address (recorded with the Bank) in a minimum of 3 working days from the date we receive the form.

  • How secure is it?
    We have adopted comprehensive security measures to safeguard your use of Online Banking.
    Customer Authentication with Login ID and Password
    You must enter the unique Login ID and Password to access Online Banking.
    All information transmitted through the Internet, including your Login ID, Password, your account information and your transaction details, from the moment you log in to the time you log out, are protected by strong end-to-end 128 bit SSL encryption; i.e. from your PC browser to the Bank's system.

    Logout
    To prevent unauthorized access at your PC while it is unattended, we have implemented a time-out feature. Your login session of Online Banking will be terminated if the browser is left idle for a while.

    Last Login Date and Time indicated
    Your last login date and time are provided in your first screen for your verification. The system does not allow simultaneous or multiple log in. The Bank always considers security to be of utmost importance. We have adopted very high standards and tight control in managing our computer systems and networks.

  • What is encryption and why is it used?
    Encryption is a method of scrambling information for transmission so as to prevent unauthorized parties from reading the information.

    Encryption transforms data into an unreadable form, and decryption reverses that process.

    Both encryption and decryption require the use of a special code, usually referred to as a key.

    The encryption of data provides a strong degree of protection against tampering while data is moving through the Internet.

    At Online Banking, all information transmitted between your browser and our Bank's systems are scrambled using strong encryption to protect the privacy and confidentiality of your account information.
  • What are cookies and are they used in this service?
    A cookie is information that a website puts on your hard disk so that it can remember something about you at a later time. This mechanism allows the server to store its own information about a user on the user's own computer. We use cookies for this service.
  • What precautions am I expected to take?
    Safeguard your Password:
    • Never reveal your Password to anyone, including the staff of Standard Chartered Bank
    • Do not use easy to guess numbers as your Password, such as 111111, 123456, your date of birth etc.
    • Change your Password regularly (once in 15 days). Just click "Change Password" and follow the simple instructions.
    • When you enter your ID and Password during login, please ensure that others cannot see your screen and also you are not being observed from behind.
    • If you suspect that your password has been stolen or exposed to others, please call our help-line to terminate access immediately. To reapply for the services, simply call Phone Banking or visit any of our Standard Chartered Bank branches.
    Always log out from Online Banking when you finish using the service or when you will be away from your PC. For security reasons, your login session of Online Banking will be terminated if your browser is left idle for a while.

    Always remember to close the browser application after logout.

    Avoid accessing Online Banking through PCs installed in public/open areas, e.g. cyber-cafes or libraries.

  • What should I do if I suspect an unauthorized transaction in my account?
    If you suspect there are unauthorized transactions in your account, please report it immediately to Phone Banking.

    The only way anyone can access your Online Banking account is by entering your unique Login ID and Password. Please ensure that your Login ID & Password is secure and is not shared with anyone.
  • Is it safe to use the service on public / shared PCs?
    We strongly recommend that you do not conduct your Online Banking transactions on any such PCs. And if you do, please clear the browser cache after each session so that your account information is removed from such PCs.
  • Can I use the Mailbox to send e-mails to my friend?
    No. The mailbox is only for communication between you and Standard Chartered Bank. For security reasons, we do not accept any financial transaction instructions through the e-mail.
  • Can I delete messages from the mailbox?
    Yes. The messages you delete will be put into the Trash Box first. Our system will automatically clear the Trash Box on a regular basis.

eStatements

  • What is eStatements?
    An eStatement is an electronic version of your statement. You can view and print your statement right from your computer. Avoid the wait for traditional mail and end clutter of paper.
  • Is there a charge for eStatement subscription?
    No. This service is free of charge.
  • How do I subscribe for eStatements?
    No. This service is free of charge.
  • How do I subscribe for eStatements?
    You can call our phone banking and request for e-statement subscription and discontinuation of physical statements.

    You can also submit a written request at any of our branches.
  • What if I change my email address?
    In order to continue receiving the eStatement, you need to notify us of your email address change.
  • When will eStatements be sent to my email ID?
    eStatements will be sent to you on a monthly basis.
  • Why would I want to receive an estatement?
    There are several reasons.

    eStatements arrive sooner than a paper statement. They cut down the amount of paperwork you have to manage because you can store copies on your PC. They reduce the amount of mail you'll receive. They will also save trees as more members sign up for eStatements.
  • Do I need to install any application on my computer to view my eStatements?
    eStatements delivered through email are compiled in PDF format. To view a PDF document you are required to install Adobe Acrobat Reader (which is a free application) on your computer.

  • Can my estatement information be exported to other programs?
    No, estatements cannot be saved as a text file and imported into Microsoft Word or any other text program. eStatements can only be saved as PDF files.

    Yes, you eStatement is a password protected file. The password logic will be provided to you.
  • Can I get it for both my bank account and credit card?
    Yes, you can opt for estatement option for both. You will need to specify both in your request.
  • What if I haven't received my eStatements or the details in my eStatement are incorrect?

    The SMS Banking facility is absolutely free for customers. Customers are charged only for sending message to the number which will be charged by your Mobile Operator as per your billing plan. However, banking alerts received on making financial transactions are chargeable.
  • What do I do for activating SMS Banking for Multiple accounts?
    You can now access SMS Banking for all your Bank accounts and Credit Cards. You can now check information as per the table given above in for all your Bank Accounts/ Credit Cards.
  • Is SMS Banking available for Joint account holders?
    SMS Banking is now available for Joint account holders as well. In case of Joint account, now both the Joint Account Holders will receive transaction alerts for any transaction in their Joint Account.
  • How Can I register for SMS Banking?
    You now register for SMS Banking on real time through our Online Banking, Phone Banking, Branches and ATM.

    Registration through Online Banking and Phone is real time, registration through other channels will be done within 5 working days.
  • Apart from Pull Services, which are the other services available for me on SMS Banking Registration?
    Apart from Pull services you will receive transaction alerts for all transactions. You can also subscribe for subscribed alerts for Bank Accounts and credit cards
    The list of subscribed alerts available are

    For Bank Accounts
    • Account Balances
      You would receive Daily Alert for Account Balances. You would receive this alert whenever there is a change in your balances
    • Term Deposit Rollover & Maturity
      If your Term Deposit with the Bank either matures or gets rolled over you would receive the transaction alert

    For Credit Cards

    • Credit Card limit enhancement
      Alert to be triggered as and when there is Credit Limit enhancement on your Credit Card
    • Rewards points alert
      You would receive alert whenever your reward points increases or decreases by 1,000 Points
    • Credit Limit nearing maximum
      You would receive an alert when the Available credit limit on your card is less than 10% of the total Available Credit Limit
    • Renewal card notification alert
      Alert will be sent when your renewal card is sent by the Bank
    • Payment Not credited / Past due reminder
      Alert will be triggered when your payment is due beyond the payment due date
    • Contact Details Change Alert
      Whenever there is change/ update of the contact details, alert will be sent

      You would receive the alert, when Bank receives the Payment on your credit cards
  • I have multiple bank accounts, what is the account alias I have to use to get the information on my other Bank Account?
    In case you have multiple bank account you can use the following keyword
    • For accounts which were registered prior to 14th March 2010 for SMS Banking, use the Keywords A1, A2, A3
    • For accounts which were not registered earlier, use the last four digits of the account number

  • What are Banking Alerts?
    Banking alerts are notifications about transactional activities on your bank account. These alerts will be delivered to you via SMS. You can even customise your own alerts preferences via the Online Banking website at www.sc.com/in
  • What are the benefits of Banking Alerts?
    Banking alerts allows you can enjoy timely updates on your account activities and alerted in event of fraudulent transactions.
  • What is the difference between Banking Alerts and SMS Banking?
    You will receive SMS and/or banking alert when there have been transactions performed on your bank account.
    SMS Banking is a service that allows you to enquire and receive information on your savings or current accounts and credit card information via short text messaging.
  • How can I subscribe to the Banking Alerts service?

    • Click on 'SMS Banking & Alerts' from the left hand menu, after which, you will receive a confirmation via SMS
  • Does registering for Banking Alerts service mean that I am automatically enrolled for SMS Banking service as well?
    Yes, you will be automatically subscribed to both Banking Alerts and SMS Banking service. However you have the option of opting out of either service via Online Banking.

  • I have changed my mobile phone number. Do I need to inform the Bank?
    Yes, you need to update the Bank with the latest mobile phone number as we will be sending any alerts to the mobile number prerecorded in our system. To update your mobile number, you can visit any of our branches or simply call phone Banking
  • Will I be able to receive SMS alerts on most pre-paid phone service plans?
    Yes, this service will work as long as your phone plan allows you to receive SMSes
  • How many accounts can be linked to the Banking Alerts service?
    All of your current, savings accounts and credit card accounts can be linked to the service.
  • Can I use the Banking Alerts service using more than one phone/email address?
    No. Your mobile number and email address are linked to your individual profile. It is only possible to have a single mobile number and email address to individual profile.
  • What security precautions should I take when using this Banking Alerts service?
    As a good security practice, you may wish to delete any SMS you received from your mobile phone 'Inbox' folder as they may contain sensitive account related information.
